Chapter 379
Richard gave him a cold, piercing look that made Theodore shut up immediately. It seemed Richard had truly fallen for Stephanie. He finally understood what unrequited love looked like. โAlright, I wonโt say anything more.โ
Just when Theodore thought Richard had nothing more to add, Richard spoke up coldly. โShe will cry because of what theyโve done.โ
Theodoreโs brow furrowed in concern. โSebastian would never let her cry.โ
Richard let out a knowing, almost sinister chuckle. โSend someone to check on the boxing match.โ
โCheck what?โ Theodore asked, confused.
โHer fiancรฉ in Long Harbor,โ Richard replied, his tone flat.
Theodore forced a smile in disbelief. Why does everyone seem to be courting disaster? Isnโt Chris supposed to be in Long Harbor? Heโs on this cruise too?
Sofia had been handling some of Stephanieโs assets for the past couple of years, including this cruise. She believed it would have been such a waste to let a big ship like that sit idle, so she rented it out on Stephanieโs behalf. The rental income went straight into Stephanieโs account. But Stephanie hadnโt had much contact with Sofia and her family in recent years and probably had no idea how much money she had there. The Hart family really missed outโthey let such a golden opportunity walk right out the door.
Theodore shook his head. โDoesnโt her fiancรฉ in Long Harbor have his own true love? Why is he here?โ
Theodore wondered, โCould it be that heโs finally realized how amazing Stephanie is? But sheโs such a pain in the neckโall high-maintenance and sly, dangerous nature. Whatโs there for her fiancรฉ to even fall for?โ
Richard took another drag of his cigarette, thinking about how Chris had been around Stephanie as her fiancรฉ for two years. It just didnโt sit right with him.
Meanwhile, Sebastian had already boarded the plane with Stephanie. As soon as they were onboard, Stephanie slipped into the restroom. Sebastian made a phone call that lasted about half an hour, but she was still in there.
Sebastian frowned and knocked softly on the restroom door. โStefi?โ he called, his voice tinged with concern.
โYes?โ Stephanie replied, her voice sounding a bit strained, as if she was in pain.
Sebastianโs heart skipped a beat. โWhatโs wrong? Open the door,โ he urged gently.
โNo, Iโll be out in a minute,โ she said, her voice wavering slightly.
โYouโve been in there a long time,โ Sebastian said, his voice low and steady. He quickly added, โAre you feeling sick?โ
โHold on a second,โ Stephanie said, her voice trembling with discomfort.
After around five minutes, Stephanie finally emerged from the restroom. Sebastian had been pacing anxiously outside, and as soon as she opened the door, he noticed her pale face. She had taken a shower and was wrapped in a bathrobe.
Without hesitation, Sebastian pulled her into his arms. โWhatโs wrong? Where does it hurt?โ
โLโฆโ Stephanie glanced at him, her cheeks flushing slightly with embarrassment. There was a hint of resentment in her eyes.
Sebastian prompted her gently. โTell me.โ
โIt hurtsโฆ down there,โ she whispered, her voice barely audible. โIt really hurts.โ
Sebastianโs eyes widened in surprise, and then he understood exactly what she was referring to. He remembered asking Macro to get some medicine. His voice was hoarse with guilt. โIโm so sorry.โ
Tears welled up in Stephanieโs eyes as she looked at him. โIt really hurts,โ she repeated, her voice trembling.
Sebastian picked her up and carried her toward the bed. โLet me have a look,โ he said, his voice firm but gentle.
Stephanieโs voice wavered in shock. โNo, you canโtโฆโ
โI need to check how bad it is,โ Sebastian insisted, his eyes filled with concern. He had been so careful, so gentle, but somehow he had still hurt her. Sebastianโs heart ached with guilt as he looked at her.
Just as he was about to lift her robe, Stephanie grabbed his wrist. โYou canโt look,โ she said firmly, her voice tinged with embarrassment.
Sebastian glanced up at her, a tender smile playing on his lips. โStill so shy?โ he murmured, trying to lighten the mood.
Stephanieโs face, already pale, now flushed with a deep blush. โIโll just put on some medicine myself,โ she mumbled, avoiding his gaze.
โBe good,โ Sebastian said softly, his voice gentle but insistent.
โI donโt want to. You canโt do this,โ she protested weakly.
Macro, who was passing by the lounge door, overheard their conversation. His heart skipped a beat, and he quickly walked away, feeling a pang of sympathy. New relationships could be so clumsy and awkward, he thought to himself.
