Chapter 375

Oliviaโ€™s face was pale, her eyes wide with despair. She couldnโ€™t take it anymore. Ever since she returned home, it was either Stephanie causing trouble or Amber. Even Chris was treating her coldly now. She felt like she was going to lose her mind.

โ€œSince you all want me gone, then Iโ€™ll grant your wish,โ€ she whispered, her voice breaking.

Amber scoffed. โ€œOh, please, if you truly didnโ€™t care about your life, you wouldnโ€™t have set me up in the first place.โ€

Catlin felt a pang of sympathy for Olivia, but Amberโ€™s words cut through it. She was trembling with rage, unsure whether to be more upset with Amber or angry at Olivia.

Amber crouched down and tossed the necklace at Oliviaโ€™s face. โ€œIs this how you hurt Stephanie before? Youโ€™d say, โ€˜Mommy, itโ€™s not her fault; itโ€™s mine. Donโ€™t blame Stefi. Itโ€™s all on me,โ€™โ€ she mimicked Oliviaโ€™s whiny tone, almost gagging.

Oliviaโ€™s face turned pale with rage.

Amber stood up, her cold laugh echoing in the room. โ€œWhat did you say about me before? That I had no manners?โ€ She turned her gaze on Olivia. โ€œHer manners are just remarkable.โ€

Olivia and Catlin were both left speechless. Amber mocked them both as she left the room. Olivia had tried to set her up, but Amber had turned the tables and exposed the plan on the spot.

Catlin looked at Olivia with a heavy heart. โ€œWhy did you do this?โ€ she asked, her voice trembling.

Even though she didnโ€™t like Amber, this was too underhanded. There were plenty of ways to get rid of someone, but this was just too low.

โ€œMom. Lโ€ฆโ€ Olivia began, but Catlin cut her off.

โ€œJust stop talking,โ€ Catlin said, clearly upset. โ€œYouโ€™re this sick and still canโ€™t keep quiet.โ€ She turned and walked away.

Oliviaโ€™s breath hitched, her face growing even paler as tears streamed down her face. โ€œWhy does everyoneโ€ฆ i anything away from me?โ€ she shouted angrily.

First, it was Stephanie, and now Amber. Remembering how Amber had just attacked her, Olivia felt her whole body burning with pain.

Over at Keris Isle, Sebastian and Stephanie walked hand in hand, leaving Bernieโ€™s familyโ€™s place together with Macro and the others.

Macro trailed behind, grumbling. โ€œBert and Bernie are totally different.โ€

Bernie had seemed shady, but Bert had been surprisingly accommodating. Heโ€™d handed over the item without hesitation once he understood their purpose. If theyโ€™d known Bert had it all along, they could have saved themselves the trouble of coming here.

Sebastian glanced at Macro and raised an eyebrow. โ€œDo you really think anyone of them could be nice?โ€

Macroโ€™s eyes widened in surprise as he paused, reconsidering his words. Alright, alright. Bertโ€™s no saint, taking over the whole island like that. But he still said, โ€œMaybe heโ€™s just trying to impress his pretty young wife. I saw how he looked at her. Heโ€™s smitten.โ€

Stephanieโ€™s brow furrowed slightly as she glanced at Macro, a warning in her eyes. โ€œWeโ€™re not out of Bertโ€™s territory yet,โ€ she reminded him quietly.

Macro was always quick with his words and loved to gossip, but Stephanie had a point. Bertโ€™s new wife was incredibly youngโ€”almost seventy himself, and she looked barely out of her twenties. It was a stark contrast.

โ€œIโ€™m just saying,โ€ Macro muttered.

โ€œDonโ€™t you know where we are?โ€ Stephanie said.

Macro pursed his lips and fell silent. Stephanie and Sebastian were right. He needed to be more mindful.

Sebastianโ€™s phone buzzed in his pocket, and he pulled it out to see Richardโ€™s name flashing on the screen. He answered, and Richardโ€™s voice came through, tense and accusing. โ€œDid you lie to me?โ€
