Chapter 374
At the Hart residence, tensions were at a boiling point. Catlin had asked Amber to return the necklace to Olivia, but Amber had erupted into a fit of rage, nearly wrecking the entire house. Olivia kept pleading, โIโm so sorry. Itโs all my fault.โ
Amber scoffed, โWhat did you do wrong?โ
โI was wrong to accuse you,โ Olivia stammered, tears streaming down her face. โIโm the one who lied. Itโs all on me.โ
Catlin, however, wasnโt buying it. She looked at Olivia with a mix of sympathy and suspicion, thinking she was just trying to avoid more conflict. โAmber, youโve really gone too far.โ
โPushing what?โ Amber retorted, her voice rising. โShe admitted she lied about me. Havenโt you heard that? Is this how you did Stephanie? Am I right?โ
โYouโโ Catlin managed to say, but Amber wasnโt finished.
โExactly,โ Amber said, her voice cold. โYou always believe Olivia over anyone. Even when sheโs clearly lying.โ
Catlinโs breath came in short gasps as she stared at Amber, speechless. She couldnโt find the words to respond. โJust get out,โ she finally said, her voice shaking with fury.
Amber chuckled, a cold, humorless sound. โLeave? Thatโs up to the one in charge. Let Chad come back and tell me to go. And then I leave with my baby right away.โ
Catlin and Olivia were both left speechless. Mentioning Chad was like twisting a knife in Catlinโs heart. The company was gone, and Chad had taken off with the remaining money. He hadnโt been home lately, and Catlin had no idea where he and his lover were.
Amber turned her attention back to Olivia. โSince you admitted you were wrong and lied about me, why donโt you tell us exactly where that necklace is?โ
Oliviaโs eyes widened in panic.
โStill trying to mess with Olivia?โ Catlinโs voice was sharp and threatening as she tried to step in.
Amberโs anger flared again, and she stepped forward, slapping Olivia twice. โAre you going to tell me or not?โ
Olivia was powerless to resist or escape, and all she could do was scream in pain. Catlin was furious and tried to intervene, but given her age, she was no match for Amberโs strength. Amber slapped Olivia a few more times. โYou enjoy stirring up trouble, donโt you? Tell me where that necklace is, or Iโll make you regret it.โ
Amid the chaos of being hit and scratched, Olivia was already battered and bruised. Her stomach ached fiercely, and she couldnโt bear it any longer. โUnder the sink, in the cabinet, inside the box with the towels,โ she finally choked out.
Amber was speechless. When Catlin heard that, she immediately stopped pulling on Amber and stared intensely at Olivia.
Amber paused, a cold laugh escaping her lips. She turned and went to the bathroom, pulling out the towel basket and dumping its contents on the floor. With a thud, the necklace fell out, landing on the floor.
Olivia and Catlin were both stunned into silence.
Chapter 374
Amber bent down and picked up the necklace, dangling it in front of Catlinโs face. โMrs. Hart, this is exactly where she said it was. Youโre not going to try and claim that I planted it here and forced her to say that, are you?โ
Catlin stared at Olivia, her breathing heavy. She tried to speak but couldnโt find the words; Olivia had given the location herself.
