Chapter 362
Stephanieโs mind was a whirlwind of emotions. She couldnโt even find words for Macro anymore and thought, โIsnโt his leg still injured? How could he be so reckless?โ
But Macro wasnโt done yet. Ignoring the murderous looks from both Stephanie and Sebastian, he continued, โSince youโre always getting Stephanie hurt, be careful, or she might not want to stay with you anymore.โ
Stephanie sighed inwardly. She had long given up on expecting any emotional intelligence from Macro.
Sebastianโs eyes narrowed slightly, and he beckoned to a waiter nearby. The waiter approached respectfully. โSir!โ
Stephanie was speechless. Clearly, all the staff here worked for Sebastian.
โHeโll take you to your room,โ Sebastian said, giving her hand a gentle squeeze.
โOkay,โ Stephanie nodded and stood up obediently, ready to follow the waiter away.
Macroโs eyes widened in alarm, and he blurted out, โHey, hold on! You canโt just leave.โ
If she walked away now, heโd be toast. After a few close calls, he knew exactly what Sebastian was capable ofโespecially when left alone with him. But it seemed like his mouth had a mind of its own, always getting him into trouble before his brain could catch up.
Stephanie glanced back at Macro, her eyes softening with a hint of sympathy. โI really need to get some sleep.โ She felt like sheโd been run through a wringer, her body aching from the endless demands of the past few days.
โWait, seriously?โ Macroโs eyes narrowed in confusion. โYou slept the whole flight. Are you saying heโs still pushing you too hard? Doesnโt he care that youโre hurt?โ
Stephanie paused, thinking. Macroโs smart, but sometimes heโs such an idiot who didnโt think before he spoke. Maybe itโs time he learned a lesson the hard way!
As she turned to leave, she couldnโt help but glance at Sebastian one last time. โIf you kick Bernie off the yacht, will that mess up your plans?โ she asked, failing to shake the feeling that this might complicate things.
Sebastianโs eyes softened, and he reached out to gently tousle her hair. โDonโt worry about it,โ he murmured. โGo get some rest. Iโve got this.โ
โOkay,โ Stephanie said softly with a nod, before following the waiter away.
As Stephanie passed Macro, he instinctively grabbed her wrist, his eyes wide with desperation. โStefi, wait,โ he blurted out, his voice tinged with fear.
She glanced at him. Macro just looked at her, as if he were trying to squeeze out every ounce of sympathy he could muster.
Sebastianโs gaze flicked to Macroโs hand on her wrist, and his eyes hardened imperceptibly. The air around him seemed to tighten, a silent warning hanging in the air.
โLet go, or youโll get your arm bruised,โ Stephanie said, her tone dry and matter-of-fact.
Macroโs grip loosened instantly, his hand retreating as if it had a mind of its own.
Stephanie turned to Sebastian, โThis is on you. Heโs always been so blunt, and youโve just let him be like this for years.โ
Macroโs eyes widened in horror. โHey, what are you talking about? He might kill me!โ
Stephanie sighed inwardly. She was trying to help him by subtly deflecting the situation, but he was too dense to see it. She shook her head, thinking, โGenius, huh? With that mind!โ She quickly left the room.
Macroโs laugh was more of a nervous tic than anything genuine as he faced Sebastian alone. โIโm so sorry.โ
Sebastian just turned and headed toward the tunnel, stripping off his shirt and then his pants.
Macro winced as he took in the broad expanse of Sebastianโs back, marred by faint scratches. Damn, Stefi must have really gone for him. It must be him pushing her too hard, he thought, shaking his head. But seriously, why is he undressing right in front of me?
Just then, the long-legged woman whoโd been fetching the balls swam back. Her lips had turned pale from the cold water, but her eyes brightened when she saw Sebastian. She hesitated, her gaze lingering on his abs, and a hint of greed flickered in her eyes. Her cheeks flushed a rosy red as she shyly called out, โSir?โ
Sebastianโs eyes darkened, and he spat out, โLeave, now.โ
The woman flinched, startled by his sudden hostility, and quickly turned to flee, her steps unsteady in her haste.
