Chapter 361
โIโm taking what I came for. As for your termsโฆโ He paused, his eyes turning colder, boring into Bernieโs. โI gave you a chance. If youโre not willing to talk, then Iโll assume you donโt want anything in return.โ
Macro watched the exchange, his mind racing. Bernie doesnโt want anything in return! Thatโs ridiculous. This guyโs infamous on Kens Ide for his greed. Anyone who deals with him usually leaves feeling like theyโve been stripped bare.
On the way over, Macro had been thinking about how no one ever seemed to get anything from Sebastian. Sebastian was the type who never gave an inch, but Bernie was always the one trying to take something. Macro wondered what, if anything, Bernie could possibly get from Sebastian this time.
But now, it was clear that Sebastian wasnโt giving anything away. Macro glanced at the gun resting in front of Sebastianโs glass and couldnโt help but think, Whoa, thatโs just Sebastianโalways in control, never at a disadvantage.
โFine. Thereโs nothing more to say,โ Bernie said and stormed to the door, pushing aside the model clinging to him; the group of models followed behind like a flock of birds.
At the door, Bernie paused and turned back, looking down at Sebastian like a stern elder. โYouโre not the only one who wants that, you know. Think carefully. A man should never let a woman jeopardize important matters. As the head of the Lucano family, you should understand that better than anyone.โ
Sebastianโs eyes met Bernieโs, a silent challenge passing between them. Finally, Bernie sneered and walked out, the door slamming behind him. The room was quiet again, and only Sebastian and his crew remained.
โIs that thing important?โ Stephanie glanced at him. Sebastianโs face was a little off, like heโd bitten into something sour, so she assumed it must be important.
He reached out and tousled her hair.
Stephanie said, โIf Iโd known, I wouldโve just stayed on the plane and slept. Or you could tell me what it is, and Iโll sneak it back for you.โ
Macro burst into laughter, the kind that bubbled up and couldnโt be stopped. โAnd how are you planning to steal it? Because youโre small?โ
Stephanie thought, โDoes this guy ever shut up?โ
Macro waved his hand, still chuckling. โRichard is on Keris Isle too. What if he catches you while youโre snoozing on the plane?โ
Elliot and Stephanie were speechless. Macro had a knack for finding the exact words that made peopleโs blood boil.
Sebastian shot a quick, warning glance at Macro. Kicking him wouldโve been satisfying, but they were too far apart. It wasnโt worth the effort. He turned to Elliot, who was standing behind him, and said, โGo, throw them all overboard.โ
Elliot nodded, his face a mask of calm. โYes, sir.โ
Stephanie asked in shock, โWhat? This yacht is yours?โ Sheโd noticed the yacht looked familiar when she was on the pier talking to Ella. But Bernie had acted like he owned the place, so sheโd assumed it was his.
Sebastianโs smile softened his features. The tension from earlier was gone. โItโs yours,โ he said.
Stephanie was stunned. โMine? Wait, what? So Bernie hit on me on my yacht?โ
โThrow them. Itโs the right thing to do,โ she said. If that thing hadnโt been important to Sebastian, she wouldโve already taken care of Bernie.
Elliot moved off to handle the situation.
Macroโs eyes widened in shock as he stared at Sebastian. โHow much of the stuff youโve bought over the years is in her name?โ
Stephanieโs gaze snapped to Sebastian as well. The Shallow Bay Area in Long Harbor is a birthday gift. But when had he bought this yacht for me?
Sebastian looked down at Stephanie and admitted quietly, โI donโt know.โ Heโd forgotten when it had started, but somehow, it had become second nature to put everything under her name.
Macroโs face contorted in confusion as he thought, โWait, so Stephanie doesnโt even know her own financial status?โ He raised an eyebrow, his tone teasing. โArenโt you worried Stephanie might betray you and run off with all the money!โ
Sebastianโs eyes darkened, and Stephanieโs gaze sharpened. Both of them shot icy glares at Macro, as if they could tear him apart with their eyes.
