Chapter 356
Listening to Macroโs devilish laughter and his words, Stephanie felt completely dazed. She looked at Sebastian, sniffled, and said, โHow could youโฆโ
Sebastian saw her pouting and feeling wronged. He bent down to give her soft lips a teasing peck, asking, โWhatโs wrong? Are you mad?โ
Stephanie nestled closer in his embrace, expressing her dissatisfaction.
โCome on, donโt be angry,โ Sebastian coaxed gently.
Stephanie responded with a โhumph.โ She had thought she was making more than two million a year based on her own merits, but in reality, it was different. She felt like she had no skills at all.
โWhat about Skyriver Travel?โ she asked.
Macro jumped in. โDonโt even think about it. Thatโs Sebastianโs company.โ
โI wasnโt asking you,โ Stephanie snapped, clearly frustrated. At that moment, both Sebastian and Stephanie wanted nothing more than to beat Macro up.
โI want your answer, Sebastian,โ Stephanie insisted.
Sebastian gave a soft โyes,โ meaning Macro was right.
Stephanie burrowed close. Sebastian looked down at her fluffy little head; her fishermanโs hat had been pushed askew again. Seeing her pouty expression made Sebastian feel a rush of desire. โSheโs so tempting,โ he thought to himself.
โAlright, donโt be mad anymore,โ he said.
โIโve been trying really hard to support myself,โ Stephanie pouted.
When her studio opened, she wasnโt without clients. Even though the design fees werenโt high, it was enough to support herself. And the high fees from Skyriver Travel? She had never questioned them. In fact, she thought the boss of Skyriver Travel had really appreciated her work. Now, however, she felt useless.
Sebastian replied, โYeah, itโs impressive that you know how to make your own money.โ
When he found out Stephanie opened her studio, he had a clear understanding of her financial situation in the Hart family. But when she suddenly used the credit card he gave her, Sebastianโs mind went into a swirl. He thought something major had gone wrong. He still had many things to sort out, but at that moment, he couldnโt focus on anything else.
Macro chimed in, โYeah, Stephanie is really smart, knowing how to earn her own money.โ
โStop talking,โ Stephanie interjected.
โQuiet down,โ Sebastian said at the same time.
That left Macro thinking, โGreat, now Iโm the bad guy again!โ
As Stephanie grumbled in Sebastianโs arms, he listened patiently.
While passing a supermarket, Sebastian said to Elliot, โGo get some snacks.โ
โSure thing,โ Elliot nodded.
It was obvious who the snacks were forโit had to be for Stephanie. She didnโt seem to have eaten enough on the plane, and hours had passed. Now Stephanie had a routine when it came to eating, and she could eat a lot.
Once Elliot got out of the car and saw Macro still seated without moving, he asked, โMacro, you wanna pick out something you like?โ
โIโm not going. What do I need snacks for? Iโm a grown man,โ said Macro. He had just been laughing so hard that his abs were still sore.
Elliot thought to himself, โHe really doesnโt get it at all.โ Ultimately, Elliot went on his own to get the snacks.
Macro finally realized he was in the way. โYou know what, Iโll go figure out what I want to eat,โ he said as he quickly hopped out of the car.
That left just Sebastian and Stephanie. Sebastian looked down at her, who was still snuggled up next to him, and asked, โAre you really angry?โ
โI thought I was doing pretty well for myself,โ Stephanie grumbled.
Sebastian replied, โYou are doing well, and you know how to hide.โ
But really, did it even matter whether she was hiding or not?
Stephanie lifted her head to look at him, asking, โSo why didnโt you come pick me up sooner?โ
โThings werenโt sorted out at that point,โ Sebastian said.
Richardโs way of forcing her away from Fiorenza was a wake-up call for Sebastian. Without their father, the Giovanni family was in a precarious position. There were many who had set their sights on the Giovanni family, especially those with ulterior motives looking to marry into the family.
