He hesitated, then shook his head. โIโll tell you later, when youโre ready. Thereโsโฆ a long, dark history there.โ
Then he turned back to me, a big smile slowly spreading across his face.
The moment I said their names, I noticed Calvinโs face shift. His jaw tightened, and a faint frown tugged at his lips. He wasnโt pleased, but I kept going.
โAnd just when I thought it was over,โ I continued, โAlpha Damien came. He saved meโฆ but only under one condition. He said I had to disappear, change my face, pretend to be dead, for one year.โ
His eyes widened in disbelief, a mixture of shock and confusion. I noticed his breathing quicken, panic flashing in his eyesโbut he didnโt interrupt. He was holding himself back, letting me finish.
My heart pounded, confusion and curiosity swirling inside me.
He stepped back, his hands in his pockets. โBecause I want everyone to know who you are now. Especially them.โ
โI grew up in the Full Moon Pack,โ I continued. โAnd I became friends with the tripletsโLennox, Levi, and Louis.โ
Calvin pulled back slightly and looked into my eyes. โThereโs something you should know. Our familyโthe Beckham bloodlineโand the Lucianos, the tripletsโ familyโฆ weโve always hated each other.โ
The room went quiet. Calvin didnโt speak. He was staring into space, lost in thoughtโprocessing everything. His eyes flickered, his brows furrowed, and I could tell his mind was running wild with questions.
My chest twisted so hard it hurt. My wolf whimpered in the back of my mind, her pain echoing mine.
โDid you sleep with them?โ he asked.
He exhaled, as if heโd been holding his breath the entire time. Slowly, he squatted down in front of me, his eyes gentle yet filled with deep concern.
The bracelet on my wrist clicked open, and I inhaled sharply, my chest rising as if I had been underwater all this timeโfinally able to breathe again. The old witch gently slid it off my skin, and instantly, I felt it.
โMy fatherโMr. Parkerโwas accused of a crime. He was arrested and thrown into jail. My mother and I were cast out. We became omegas overnight.โ
But even in his arms, the ache throbbed deep.
I pressed my hand to my chest, as if trying to keep the hurt from spilling out. My throat burned. My chest ached. It was a different kind of painโdeeper. Not physical, not even entirely emotional. It was something elseโฆ something raw and impossible to explain.
Warmth.
My throat tightened, but I kept my voice steady.
Life.
He didnโt reply. He was staring at the ground now, his expression unreadable.
He tilted his head, mischief dancing in his eyes. โLetโs just sayโฆ I have scores to settle with them.โ
Calvin moved closer. โI know,โ he said gently, his voice full of understanding. โIt hurts. I donโt know why the Moon Goddess made you their mate, Olivia. Maybe it was a mistake, a cruel mistake. But itโs a good thing you rejected them.โ
I paused when I saw Calvinโs expression twist again, darkening into a frown.
โIโll begin the rituals tomorrow,โ she said. โNow that you are eighteen, your powers will start awakening. Slowly, but theyโll come. Youโve been locked for too long, child.โ
But Calvin didnโt say anything. He simply looked at me with concern.
The old witch, who had been standing silently in the corner, finally stepped forward.
โJust sit back,โ he said softly, โand watch.โ
โWhat? Why?โ I asked, stunned.
โYes,โ I nodded. โI was their mate. All three of them. They didnโt want it. They rejected it. But their father forced them. And eventuallyโฆ they marked me. They married me.โ
โI thought things might get better,โ I said. โBut they didnโt. They made my best friend their mistress, paraded her around in front of me, hurt me in ways I canโt even describe.โ
Energy.
Calvinโs teeth gritted hard. โBastards,โ he hissed under his breath.
My heart skipped a beat. My breath caught. Iโm related to the triplets, too.
Then suddenly, he looked at me sharply.
โSheโs back,โ I nodded. โMy wolf is back.โ
I blink at him. โA party?โ
โYouโre safe now,โ he murmured. โYouโre home. And I promise, I wonโt let anyone hurt you again.โ
A big, bright smile spread across my face as tears stung my eyes. โI missed you so much,โ I whispered to her. โI felt so empty without you.โ
He straightened up, brushing some hair gently out of my face. โBut for nowโฆ what matters is that youโre back. Youโre with your real family. And Iโll protect you with everything I have.โ
โI thought I was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Parker,โ I began, my voice trembling slightly. โThey raised me with so much loveโฆ they never had any other children, so it was just the three of us. I never doubted for a second that I was theirs.โ
Calvin looked like he was going to explode.
He grinned happily. โA grand welcome party, to announce your return to the entire supernatural world.โ
I frowned, caught off guard. โNot really,โ I answered hesitantly. โWhy? What does that have to do with anything?โ
I took a deep breath, the memories still painful to speak of.
Oliviaโs POV
โAnd thenโฆ on my eighteenth birthday,โ I said, looking him in the eye, โwe found out I was mated to them.โ
โAfter thatโฆ I decided to leave,โ I added. โTo stay with Alpha Gabriel. I thought he truly cared about me, that he was different.โ
His entire body jolted. โWhat?โ
Calvinโs smile deepened. โYes. Iโm inviting them.โ
โBut he wanted me dead,โ I whispered bitterly. โHe planned to kill me. He said I was paying for the sins of my mother.โ
โThey tried to make things right after learning the truth,โ I admitted. โBut I refused. I couldnโt live like that. Soโฆ I rejected them.โ
โOlivia,โ my wolfโs voice whispered in my mind, filled with emotion. โIโm backโฆโ
โIt wasnโt me. I never wrote it. I donโt even know who did.โ
โYes.โ He cut me off, his voice quiet but heavy. โYouโre related to the tripletsโฆ weโre distant cousins.โ He dropped it like a bomb.
I shook my head slowly.
I closed my eyes for a moment, overwhelmed by the sudden peace washing over me. It felt like a piece of my soul had finally returned.
My stomach twisted. โThe triplets?โ
Her.
โOlivia,โ he said, voice low and full of concern, โpleaseโฆ I need you to tell me everything. What happened to you? Who did this? How did you end up here?โ
I raised an eyebrow. โWhy?โ
I bit my lip but didnโt press. I could see in his eyes that it wasnโt something to rush into.
I opened my eyes and looked at him.
I didnโt reply. I couldnโt. Tears welled in my eyes as he pulled me into a hug, a warm, firm, protective hug.
โHow?โ she whispered. โHow can the men we lovedโฆ be our own blood?โ
I saw pure anger in Calvinโs eyes. His hands clenched at his sides, and his aura darkened.
Calvin gave her a small nod. โDo whatever you must.โ
โNo,โ I said firmly. โI broke the bond.โ
He blinked. โYouโre no longer mated to them?โ
Then I heard Calvinโs voice, soft but awed. โI can feel her,โ he said quietly.
Thatโs when it hit me. He had told me something beforeโฆ something Iโd almost forgotten, that he was related to the triplets by the same great-grandmother. And if Calvin is my brotherโฆ then that meansโฆ
I turned to Calvin, my voice catching in my throat. โDoesโฆ thatโฆโ
โThey adored me,โ I said honestly. โAnd Iโฆ I adored them too. We grew up together, but everything changed on my fourteenth birthday.โ
โBut the worst part,โ I whispered, โwas the triplets. They hated me, and I didnโt understand why. I kept trying to reach them, but they hurt me, over and over, emotionally, physically, like I meant nothing to them.โ
โBut then,โ I continued, โeverything started to shift. I discovered they hated me because of a letter, a forged letter, one that made them believe I loved one brother and hated the other.โ
I saw something wildโrage mixed with griefโin Calvinโs eyes.
โI never left,โ she said softly. โI was always here, just trappedโฆ waiting for you.โ
My brows furrowed. โWhy?โ
Calvin nodded slowly, his soft eyes fixed on mine.
โOh, and one more thing,โ he added. โTomorrowโฆ Iโm throwing a party.โ
โI agreedโฆ and thatโs how I became Rebecca.โ
Calvinโs eyes widened in horror.
I shook my head slowly, my lips parting in disbelief. โNoโฆ no, that canโt be true.โ
A flash of relief crossed his face, like a heavy weight had just lifted from his chest.
I looked at him for a long moment, and then I began to speak.
