Listen to this chapter:

He hesitated, then shook his head. โ€œIโ€™ll tell you later, when youโ€™re ready. Thereโ€™sโ€ฆ a long, dark history there.โ€

Then he turned back to me, a big smile slowly spreading across his face.

The moment I said their names, I noticed Calvinโ€™s face shift. His jaw tightened, and a faint frown tugged at his lips. He wasnโ€™t pleased, but I kept going.

โ€œAnd just when I thought it was over,โ€ I continued, โ€œAlpha Damien came. He saved meโ€ฆ but only under one condition. He said I had to disappear, change my face, pretend to be dead, for one year.โ€

His eyes widened in disbelief, a mixture of shock and confusion. I noticed his breathing quicken, panic flashing in his eyesโ€”but he didnโ€™t interrupt. He was holding himself back, letting me finish.

My heart pounded, confusion and curiosity swirling inside me.

He stepped back, his hands in his pockets. โ€œBecause I want everyone to know who you are now. Especially them.โ€

โ€œI grew up in the Full Moon Pack,โ€ I continued. โ€œAnd I became friends with the tripletsโ€”Lennox, Levi, and Louis.โ€

Calvin pulled back slightly and looked into my eyes. โ€œThereโ€™s something you should know. Our familyโ€”the Beckham bloodlineโ€”and the Lucianos, the tripletsโ€™ familyโ€ฆ weโ€™ve always hated each other.โ€

The room went quiet. Calvin didnโ€™t speak. He was staring into space, lost in thoughtโ€”processing everything. His eyes flickered, his brows furrowed, and I could tell his mind was running wild with questions.

My chest twisted so hard it hurt. My wolf whimpered in the back of my mind, her pain echoing mine.

โ€œDid you sleep with them?โ€ he asked.

He exhaled, as if heโ€™d been holding his breath the entire time. Slowly, he squatted down in front of me, his eyes gentle yet filled with deep concern.

The bracelet on my wrist clicked open, and I inhaled sharply, my chest rising as if I had been underwater all this timeโ€”finally able to breathe again. The old witch gently slid it off my skin, and instantly, I felt it.

โ€œMy fatherโ€”Mr. Parkerโ€”was accused of a crime. He was arrested and thrown into jail. My mother and I were cast out. We became omegas overnight.โ€

But even in his arms, the ache throbbed deep.

I pressed my hand to my chest, as if trying to keep the hurt from spilling out. My throat burned. My chest ached. It was a different kind of painโ€”deeper. Not physical, not even entirely emotional. It was something elseโ€ฆ something raw and impossible to explain.

Warmth.

My throat tightened, but I kept my voice steady.

Life.

He didnโ€™t reply. He was staring at the ground now, his expression unreadable.

He tilted his head, mischief dancing in his eyes. โ€œLetโ€™s just sayโ€ฆ I have scores to settle with them.โ€

Calvin moved closer. โ€œI know,โ€ he said gently, his voice full of understanding. โ€œIt hurts. I donโ€™t know why the Moon Goddess made you their mate, Olivia. Maybe it was a mistake, a cruel mistake. But itโ€™s a good thing you rejected them.โ€

I paused when I saw Calvinโ€™s expression twist again, darkening into a frown.

โ€œIโ€™ll begin the rituals tomorrow,โ€ she said. โ€œNow that you are eighteen, your powers will start awakening. Slowly, but theyโ€™ll come. Youโ€™ve been locked for too long, child.โ€

But Calvin didnโ€™t say anything. He simply looked at me with concern.

The old witch, who had been standing silently in the corner, finally stepped forward.

โ€œJust sit back,โ€ he said softly, โ€œand watch.โ€

โ€œWhat? Why?โ€ I asked, stunned.

โ€œYes,โ€ I nodded. โ€œI was their mate. All three of them. They didnโ€™t want it. They rejected it. But their father forced them. And eventuallyโ€ฆ they marked me. They married me.โ€

โ€œI thought things might get better,โ€ I said. โ€œBut they didnโ€™t. They made my best friend their mistress, paraded her around in front of me, hurt me in ways I canโ€™t even describe.โ€

Energy.

Calvinโ€™s teeth gritted hard. โ€œBastards,โ€ he hissed under his breath.

My heart skipped a beat. My breath caught. Iโ€™m related to the triplets, too.

Then suddenly, he looked at me sharply.

โ€œSheโ€™s back,โ€ I nodded. โ€œMy wolf is back.โ€

I blink at him. โ€œA party?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re safe now,โ€ he murmured. โ€œYouโ€™re home. And I promise, I wonโ€™t let anyone hurt you again.โ€

A big, bright smile spread across my face as tears stung my eyes. โ€œI missed you so much,โ€ I whispered to her. โ€œI felt so empty without you.โ€

He straightened up, brushing some hair gently out of my face. โ€œBut for nowโ€ฆ what matters is that youโ€™re back. Youโ€™re with your real family. And Iโ€™ll protect you with everything I have.โ€

โ€œI thought I was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Parker,โ€ I began, my voice trembling slightly. โ€œThey raised me with so much loveโ€ฆ they never had any other children, so it was just the three of us. I never doubted for a second that I was theirs.โ€

Calvin looked like he was going to explode.

He grinned happily. โ€œA grand welcome party, to announce your return to the entire supernatural world.โ€

I frowned, caught off guard. โ€œNot really,โ€ I answered hesitantly. โ€œWhy? What does that have to do with anything?โ€

I took a deep breath, the memories still painful to speak of.

Oliviaโ€™s POV

โ€œAnd thenโ€ฆ on my eighteenth birthday,โ€ I said, looking him in the eye, โ€œwe found out I was mated to them.โ€

โ€œAfter thatโ€ฆ I decided to leave,โ€ I added. โ€œTo stay with Alpha Gabriel. I thought he truly cared about me, that he was different.โ€

His entire body jolted. โ€œWhat?โ€

Calvinโ€™s smile deepened. โ€œYes. Iโ€™m inviting them.โ€

โ€œBut he wanted me dead,โ€ I whispered bitterly. โ€œHe planned to kill me. He said I was paying for the sins of my mother.โ€

โ€œThey tried to make things right after learning the truth,โ€ I admitted. โ€œBut I refused. I couldnโ€™t live like that. Soโ€ฆ I rejected them.โ€

โ€œOlivia,โ€ my wolfโ€™s voice whispered in my mind, filled with emotion. โ€œIโ€™m backโ€ฆโ€

โ€œIt wasnโ€™t me. I never wrote it. I donโ€™t even know who did.โ€

โ€œYes.โ€ He cut me off, his voice quiet but heavy. โ€œYouโ€™re related to the tripletsโ€ฆ weโ€™re distant cousins.โ€ He dropped it like a bomb.

I shook my head slowly.

I closed my eyes for a moment, overwhelmed by the sudden peace washing over me. It felt like a piece of my soul had finally returned.

My stomach twisted. โ€œThe triplets?โ€

Her.

โ€œOlivia,โ€ he said, voice low and full of concern, โ€œpleaseโ€ฆ I need you to tell me everything. What happened to you? Who did this? How did you end up here?โ€

I raised an eyebrow. โ€œWhy?โ€

I bit my lip but didnโ€™t press. I could see in his eyes that it wasnโ€™t something to rush into.

I opened my eyes and looked at him.

I didnโ€™t reply. I couldnโ€™t. Tears welled in my eyes as he pulled me into a hug, a warm, firm, protective hug.

โ€œHow?โ€ she whispered. โ€œHow can the men we lovedโ€ฆ be our own blood?โ€

I saw pure anger in Calvinโ€™s eyes. His hands clenched at his sides, and his aura darkened.

Calvin gave her a small nod. โ€œDo whatever you must.โ€

โ€œNo,โ€ I said firmly. โ€œI broke the bond.โ€

He blinked. โ€œYouโ€™re no longer mated to them?โ€

Then I heard Calvinโ€™s voice, soft but awed. โ€œI can feel her,โ€ he said quietly.

Thatโ€™s when it hit me. He had told me something beforeโ€ฆ something Iโ€™d almost forgotten, that he was related to the triplets by the same great-grandmother. And if Calvin is my brotherโ€ฆ then that meansโ€ฆ

I turned to Calvin, my voice catching in my throat. โ€œDoesโ€ฆ thatโ€ฆโ€

โ€œThey adored me,โ€ I said honestly. โ€œAnd Iโ€ฆ I adored them too. We grew up together, but everything changed on my fourteenth birthday.โ€

โ€œBut the worst part,โ€ I whispered, โ€œwas the triplets. They hated me, and I didnโ€™t understand why. I kept trying to reach them, but they hurt me, over and over, emotionally, physically, like I meant nothing to them.โ€

โ€œBut then,โ€ I continued, โ€œeverything started to shift. I discovered they hated me because of a letter, a forged letter, one that made them believe I loved one brother and hated the other.โ€

I saw something wildโ€”rage mixed with griefโ€”in Calvinโ€™s eyes.

โ€œI never left,โ€ she said softly. โ€œI was always here, just trappedโ€ฆ waiting for you.โ€

My brows furrowed. โ€œWhy?โ€

Calvin nodded slowly, his soft eyes fixed on mine.

โ€œOh, and one more thing,โ€ he added. โ€œTomorrowโ€ฆ Iโ€™m throwing a party.โ€

โ€œI agreedโ€ฆ and thatโ€™s how I became Rebecca.โ€

Calvinโ€™s eyes widened in horror.

I shook my head slowly, my lips parting in disbelief. โ€œNoโ€ฆ no, that canโ€™t be true.โ€

A flash of relief crossed his face, like a heavy weight had just lifted from his chest.

I looked at him for a long moment, and then I began to speak.
