Chapter 796

Seeing how proud he was, the officer actually grew curious. โ€œAlright then, tell me your name and your family background. Weโ€™ll have someone reach out.โ€ He had dealt with many people before, but it was his first time seeing someone this arrogant. Even now, with things as they were, this guy still clung to his identity like a badge of honor. The officer was genuinely curious to see just how impressive this background really was.

Julian lifted his chin. โ€œYou better listen carefully. My family owns the Hayes Group in Ravenshore. My father is the chairman of the company. If you donโ€™t believe me, go check. Iโ€™m their only heirโ€”thereโ€™s no way he wonโ€™t come to get me out. How dare all of you treat me like this.โ€ He lifted his cuffed wrists and snapped, โ€œJust wait. Once my dad finds out, none of you will get away with this.โ€

The officer fell silent for a moment. He had expected something more impressive. But it turned out this guy was just riding his fatherโ€™s coattails. Nothing special at all. And judging by the look of it, his dad probably didnโ€™t even know he was locked up. The officer wasnโ€™t fazed in the slightest. He remembered what the chief had said earlier. He might not know Julianโ€™s father, but he sure knew his own boss. And an officer who didnโ€™t follow orders wasnโ€™t a good officer. He had a clear sense of where he stood.

โ€œSure, want me to contact your father for you?โ€ Julianโ€™s eyes lit up. He had just been thinking about how to get in touch with his dad. Now, hearing the officer offerโ€”it felt like a gift. This could be his chance to finally tell his father he was stuck in this place and needed to be rescued immediately.

โ€œYouโ€™d really do that?โ€ Julian asked half-skeptically, a flicker of hope rising inside him, though something still didnโ€™t feel quite right.

The officer nodded. โ€œItโ€™s just notifying your family. You do have that right.โ€

Hearing that, Julian finally felt at ease. โ€œGo ahead then. My dadโ€™s number isโ€ฆโ€

The officer didnโ€™t hesitate and made the call right away. For something this minor, there was no need to report to his superiorโ€”he might even get scolded for it.

Seeing how things were unfolding, Tessa finally felt relieved. She decided to just wait and see. After all, Julianโ€™s parents were still prominent figures in Ravenshore. Dealing with a small police station like this shouldnโ€™t be much of an issue. This kind of matter was usually easy to resolve. The fact that they actually ended up in the police station had genuinely shocked her. She still didnโ€™t know what was going on with these people. But thinking back, it was probably because Lucas had some other friends who had been pressuring the officers not to let them out. Thinking that way, something still felt off. Why did Lucas know so many people? Tessa never understood why so many were willing to follow him. He was clearly just a pretty boyโ€”what was so good about him? She really couldnโ€™t understand these people sometimes. Still, even if she didnโ€™t understand, one thing was certain: they were only being treated this way because of Lucas. Aside from that, Tessa couldnโ€™t think of anyone else.
