And more than anything, he was overseas now.

If anything came to light, it would still be handled according to local laws.

But something about these so-called officers didn’t sit right with him.

There was something off about their demeanor.

Their presence didn’t match the usual look of the foreign military personnel.

Instead, they carried the distinct aura of well-trained soldiers from his country – fierce and disciplined in a way that couldn’t be faked.

Realizing this, a chill crept down Julian’s spine.

Something was definitely wrong.

It seemed his father had been right – he should’ve stayed far away from Aurora.

But now it was too late.

After going through all this, Julian finally understood.

The man by Aurora’s side wasn’t as simple as he appeared.

He and Tessa had clearly underestimated him.

And even though he understood that now, it was too late for regrets.

He’d already blown his chance.

Julian trembled slightly, trying his best to stay calm. “What are you planning to do? Keeping me locked up like this is illegal. Aren’t you afraid I’ll sue you for this?”

Jason nearly laughed out loud.

Did Julian really not understand the law at all?

What was he even saying?

He sounded like some clueless rookie fresh out of school.

But Jason could tell at a glance – this definitely wasn’t Julian’s first time dealing with situations like this.

Which made it all the more obvious that he was putting on an act, trying to cover up the stupidity of what he’d done.

After all, he was already on edge, and now he was facing police and being tied to a substance that was actually toxic.

With everything piling up, how could Julian not be scared?

He shut his eyes, trying to think of any possible way out, but nothing came to mind.

At this point, he was starting to regret everything.

Why had he let his emotions get the better of him and followed Tessa here in the first place?

And now? Not only had they failed to accomplish anything, he’d ended up being caught.

Julian truly felt like he was at rock bottom.

But Jason didn’t care about any of that.

As long as it was something that could harm the hospital, he would never allow it, especially considering how Julian had slandered their hospital before.

Just thinking about it made Jason furious.

No one was allowed to insult the hospital he worked for.

Not even him.

So, who did Julian think he was?

The more Jason looked at him, the angrier he became.

He immediately urged, “Tell the lab to speed up the analysis."

“With the police here, it doesn’t matter if this man believes it or not.”

The fact that officers were present meant Julian’s doubts were irrelevant.

And besides, there was no one more reliable than law enforcement.

Even if Julian refused to admit anything, Jason had no intention of humoring him.
