Chapter 112

Although it was late at night, there were still many cats on the road. Vespera rolled down the car window and let the night breeze in; out of nowhere, she picked up the scent of flowers in the cool air. The streetlights on both sides of the road stretched for miles, with no end in sight.

Vespera hadn’t lied to Dominic. She really did plan on visiting Natalie Hall, her grandmother. Initially, Rebecca was supposed to make a statement on Vespera’s behalf. After some thought, Vespera decided to tell the story herself. After all, that may be her last battle. She could tell that Lake was weary as well.

Vespera hoped that by the time she returned to Halewick, Lal would finally understand that things were truly over between them. Afraid that Tins and the other Sowles would impulsively try to ruin her, Vespera decided to leave Halewick for a few days. A lone wolf shouldn’t have tried fighting a den of lions.

At that moment, the Munoz and Sowle families were already watching the video Vespera posted in retaliation. They felt like they might explode from anger. They had forgotten one thing—Vespera used to be an executive at Eclipse Group. She had resigned not long ago, so the company hadn’t revoked her access to her official account. Even if the company managed to revoke her access, many of her former subordinates were living in the same apartment as Vespera. It might even have been Luke who gave her access to the account.

Felixia called Luke several times, but he did not answer his phone. Henry looked grim. “You shouldn’t have let that swanky bitch tell you what to do. Otherwise, none of this would’ve happened.” “Not only did Vespera expose your lie, but the company is facing many losses as well. How did I end up with such a foolish wife like you?”

Felicia was already feeling angry and frustrated after facing criticism all day. Even Luke wasn’t on her side. After bearing Henry’s reprimand, she exploded. “Yes, I’m such a fool. Why don’t you get a new wife? Marry a smarter one. Oh, right. You already have a mistress. That hoe, Jenny, has always been living overseas with you, hasn’t she? Why don’t you let her and your bastard join the Munoz family? You might as well make them part of the family.”

Furious, Henry slapped Felicia. “What mistress? What bastard?” Felicia never expected that Henry would lay a hand on her. For a moment, she was in disbelief. She covered her face with a bitter smirk. “I might as well take a leaf from Vespera’s book and live life to the fullest. I’ve kept one eye shut for twenty years, but what do I get? While you were playing house with Jenny overseas, I was stuck here all alone! Now, you’re even calling me a fool. I’m stupid. That’s true.” Felicia spoke forlornly before turning to head upstairs.

“Felicia…” Henry regretted slapping her. They had lived peacefully together for so many years, so he shouldn’t have upset her. As soon as Felicia entered her room, Tina’s call came through several times. Although Felicia had already rejected her calls a few times downstairs, Tina still called her relentlessly. After locking the door, Felicia answered the phone, “Since you have the time to harass me, why don’t you come up with an idea to handle the situation?”

Tina sounded malicious. “Nothing to be afraid of. Just because she refuted your evidence doesn’t mean that all the netizens believe her. I have my ways to turn things around, but I didn’t call you to talk about that. I want to make it clear—if Luke doesn’t marry me, you’re the next one in trouble.” Felicia’s hand trembled, causing her to drop the phone to the floor. She then collapsed to the ground as well.

Felicia picked up the phone. She suppressed her fear and anger, exclaiming, “I already did everything you asked of me! He won’t even listen to me! Now, the whole Sowle family considers me a sinner. I’m already in such a pitiful state! You also saw how I can’t tell Luke what to do, what I have to say!”

Tina retorted, “I don’t care. You only have one week.” With that, Tina ended the call. Felicia was slumped on the ground. She felt like the whole world was against her. She tried standing up but fell to the floor again.

If Henry knew what happened, he might actually take the opportunity to bring Jerry Brown and her son into the Munoz family. Felicia knew they would try to get their hands on whatever belonged to Luke. Never! Felicia would never let that happen!
