“Once we’re over for good, Tina will stop bugging me. Whatever you and Tina do has nothing to do with me anymore. Think about it.” Vespera’s words held no emotion. Unlike before, Luke didn’t seem to protest as passionately as he once did. It was like a disease. Once it had spread to the point of no return, medicine was no longer effective. Any passion, reluctance, resentment, and guilt would slowly fade away until it was no more.

Luke sat at Rebecca’s house for a long time. Even when he left, he did not mention whether he agreed with Vespera. All Luke said was that Vespera could contact him if she wanted to make a joint statement.

All of them were eager to keep up with the drama as if they were watching a reality show.

Vespera came across as elegant and dignified in the video. Her voice was gentle as she calmly narrated her love story with Luke—how they fell in love, how they defeated all odds to marry each other, and how Tina got in their way. Vespera recounted everything in detail as if she were telling a story. She wasn’t even in a hurry to refute Felicia’s slander. Vespera’s tone wasn’t harsh as she shared her story, which contained plenty of information.

Vespera and Luke had gotten to know each other during their senior year when times were simpler. She never mentioned whether Luke’s childhood betrothal to Tina was true. Even if it were, Luke was sixteen years old when he fell for Vespera, and she was of the same age. Why would he even date Tina, who was still in elementary school? Vespera mentioned that during her marriage with Luke, Felicia had always been extremely critical of her. Vespera also brought up that Tina started getting involved with Luke when the Munozes started dealing with the Sowles for the project. That suggested both families weren’t close before, so how could they have arranged a childhood betrothal for Luke and Tina?

After telling her story, Vespera took out her evidence and started refuting everything Felicia said. Vespera had conversation screenshots, voice recordings, and photos to prove it all. Vespera showed the full conversation related to the exorbitant compensation. So, Felicia knew Vespera wanted a divorce because Luke had cheated. Both of them had come to an agreement without any objection. The compensation didn’t happen because Vespera refused to agree to a divorce.

Felicia mentioned that Vespera had booked a hotel room to meet with another man. Although Felicia prided herself on deleting the second half of the footage in the hotel corridor, Vespera managed to retrieve footage of the hotel entrance. They were only there for nine minutes. They probably didn’t even have enough time to take off all their clothes.

The final evidence that nailed it was Luke admitting that Felicia had made up everything at the press conference. Although Vespera had often voiced her displeasure, she still decided to let Luke have his final shred of dignity: She did not play the disgusting recording, nor did she show photos of Luke and Tina in bed.
