Chapter 711
Rachel stopped bickering with him.
โWanda, we might be out for the next two days for a short trip. Donโt bother cooking for us.โ
Wanda nodded. โTake care, then.โ
โOkay.โ
Just then, Ray ran toward Rachel and rubbed his head against her leg. Rachel looked down at Ray and reached out to pat his furry head.
โWeโll only be gone for two days. Weโll be back in no time.โ
Ray whimpered at Rachelโs feet, looking rather upset.
Tyler comforted Ray, too. โBe good at home these two days. If I find out that you caused trouble at home, Iโll send you to the butcher.โ
Ray whimpered even louder.
Rachel chided Tyler, โCan you not frighten Ray like that?โ
โIโm not frightening Ray. Iโm telling Ray the truth.โ
Ray put its paws on its head and whimpered some more.
Rachel reached out to pat Tyler. โStop saying that. Rayโs really frightened.โ
She crouched down low and reassured Ray, โHe was lying just now. Donโt worryโif he dares to sell you away, weโll sell him instead.โ
Ray barked excitedly, as though agreeing with Rachel.
Rachel tilted her chin at Tyler. โSee? Even Ray is on my side.โ
Tyler looked at the two of them, speechless, and stood up.
โAre we still going? Or do you want to bring Ray along?โ
Ray wagged his tail excitedly at Rachel, looking almost pleadingly at her. She almost relented at the pitiful look on Rayโs face.
She patted Rayโs head and said comfortingly, โWeโre going on a business trip and canโt bring you along. But donโt worry, weโll come back as soon as we can. Iโll bring some snacks back for you, too.โ
With that, Rachel turned to leave with Tyler without looking back. Yale quickly got into the car with them.
Tyler turned to look at Ray staring at their car driving off.
โI told you not to tease Ray. He canโt take it, and heโll take your word for it. Rayโs not exposed to the cruel world. Heโs used to the sheltered life at home.โ
โRay will know how cruel the world is when I drag him out to work.โ
Rachel smacked his thigh hard. โTyler, are you mad? You might be a workaholic, but to torture a dog?โ
Tyler winced from the slight pain, his brows furrowing. โWhy do I have a feeling that you treat Ray better than you do me?โ
โRayโs a good dog, unlike you. Youโre worse than a dog sometimes.โ
Tyler nodded, a sardonic smirk on his face. โIโm not as important as a dog to you now, am I?โ
โMore or less. But shouldnโt Ray be important to you as well? Why are you fighting with a dog?โ Tyler realized that Rachel was right. Why was he fighting with a dog?
When they arrived, Rachel asked him seriously, โAre we meeting your client right now or tomorrow?โ
Tyler glanced at his watch. โWe have two more hours. Sheโs not staying here for long.โ
