Chapter 673
Tylerโs words didnโt just stun the saleslady. Even Rachelโs body stiffened with shock.
The salesladyโs gaze shifted awkwardly between Tyler and Rachel.
She had seen her fair share of men buying perfumes for their affair partners, but this was her first time seeing one bring his girlfriend along while buying perfume for another woman.
Rachel returned to the matter at hand. โYes, itโs for a radiant and poised woman. Give me your best recommendation.โ
The saleslady forced a smile on her face, pitying Rachel from within. She then started introducing them to one of the collections.
Two other salespeople stood at the cashier counter and started gossiping under their breath.
โMen are getting bolder nowadays! They used to bother keeping their affairs a secret. Theyโd bring the other woman to shop behind their wivesโ backs. Iโve never seen someone as bold as this guy!โ
โExactly! But heโs so handsome. Iโd want to marry him if I were a woman.โ
โI think that lady next to him looks good, too. Sheโs beautiful โ totally my cup of tea. Her cold and distant aura feels so different from other women.โ
โI agree. Her presence makes everyone else fade into the background. I seldom see someone with such an aura.โ
โBut beautiful women often lead wretched lives. Men buy gifts for their affair partners behind their wivesโ backs, but sheโs got it way worse. Her boyfriendโs blatantly bringing her to pick a gift for his affair partner.โ
โWell, what else can she do? Thatโs how the world is becoming nowadays. You must be prepared to suffer like this if you want a rich boyfriend.โ
โYou said it.โ
Tyler overheard every word from the two salespeopleโs conversation as the saleslady attending to him was introducing them to a perfume collection.
He whispered into Rachelโs ear, โWhy do salespeople love gossiping so much? Should I explain things to them?โ
โNo need.โ
Rachel grumbled inwardly, Was Tyler truly clueless as to why those two salespeople said what they said about them? It was all because of the deliberately suggestive answer he gave to the salesladyโs question earlier!
He blatantly claimed to be buying a perfume for another woman when he appeared to be shopping with his girlfriend.
Who wouldnโt think in that direction?
Tyler stared at Rachelโs flawless side profile, drawing so close he could even see the fine hair on her skin. Yet, he didnโt see any change in her face; it remained calm and composed.
He didnโt know whether her non-combative nature was a good thing or not.
By right, men should appreciate women who donโt kick up a fuss. Yet, he somehow felt uncomfortable with her underwhelming reaction.
The saleslady introduced Rachel to some perfumes. She tried a few different bottles and finally placed three in front of Tyler.
โTry them yourself. See which suits her better.โ
Tyler didnโt even bother looking at them and handed the decision to Rachel.
โI know nothing about this. Itโs enough that youโve tried it. A woman knows another woman best. Iโm sure youโve come across a woman like her, and youโll make the best choice. Iโll head over there and wait for you.โ
Tyler pointed to the lounge area.
Rachel said nothing more and went back to sampling the three perfume bottles.
The saleslady snuck a peek at Tyler, casually lounging on the couch, before turning her attention back to Rachel, who was choosing between the three perfume bottles with utmost seriousness. Pity grew in her chest.
She said in a soft voice, โIโm sure itโs tough being with a man like that. Miss, you look so beautiful, Iโm sure itโs not difficult for you to find another boyfriend. He doesnโt treat you as a fellow human being. You canโt humiliate someone like this. A woman should be shown respect and be treated with dignity.โ
Rachelโs hand froze in mid-air at the salesladyโs words. She turned to look at the saleslady, noting the latterโs compassionate expression.
