Chapter 671
Tyler lowered his head, slightly upset. โYou see him as a child, but he might not think the same way about you.โ
Rachel, a divorcee, naturally caught the meaning behind Tylerโs words. She didnโt feel anything in particular, aside from having the urge to laugh.
Covering her mouth to suppress her laughter, she said, โAre you going to watch out for every man who crosses my path? Tyler, your jealousy is getting out of hand!โ
Tyler nodded pensively. โYeah, it is.โ
He sat back up straight and stepped on the accelerator.
His side profile was tense, his jawline sharp as a blade. Rachel knew at a glance that he was angry.
She pursed her lips, deciding not to bother herself about it.
Tyler was being ridiculous. He could be jealous of anyone but Jerry.
Jerry had been single all these years while working for her. What would a kid like him know?
Tyler had removed all the boys they met at the barbecue eatery who started following Rachel on social media and adjusted her settings so her account was only visible to him. Indeed, every CEO had a domineering side to him.
Rachel ignored him the rest of the way.
Jerry didnโt answer his phone when she called him, so she tried again. This time, he answered it.
โJerry, head back to the hotel yourself. There are some loose ends to tie up for this project; just finish it up by yourself,โ she said.
โRachel, are you not coming back tonight?โ
โYeah. I need to help Tyler out at his office. Find food near the hotel and eat whatever you like. Donโt count pennies on that.โ
โBut there are some figures I donโt quite understand?โ
โWhat are they? Send them to me, and Iโll take a look.โ
Hearing Rachelโs response, Jerry didnโt push further. โAlright. Rest early if you can.โ
Tyler sneered when Rachel hung up. โSeriously, canโt you tell?โ
Rachel returned to the home screen on her phone and looked at Tyler with confusion. โWhat?โ
โHeโs doing it on purpose. Why did he ask you to go back and take a look at the data when he could have just texted you instead?โ
That damn brat.
Rachel somehow found the jealous look on Tylerโs face hilarious. He looked dark and sombre to begin with, his incisive eyes making him appear even colder.
In the past, Rachel would have feared him and the aura he exuded. Yet now, instead of fearing him, she somehow always had the urge to laugh whenever she saw him.
She burst out laughing there and then.
Tyler turned to look at her. โWhat are you laughing at?โ
Rachel could hear the chill in his voice and the intimidating aura he exuded when he turned her attention toward him.
She held back her laughter and shook her head.
โNothing.โ
Tyler retracted his gaze and suddenly stopped the car at the entrance of a mall.
Seeing him unbuckling his seat belt, she asked, โAre you buying something?โ
โOne of our business partners is coming from abroad in two days. I heard sheโs coming back for business development. There is a project up for bid right now, and I want to give it a shot. You know how the company is doing as of late. Itโs miles apart from its heyday.โ
Rachel understood what he meant. โSo youโre doing it yourself this time.โ
โExactly.โ
Tyler opened the door but suddenly turned back as a thought came to mind.
