Chapter 644 (+15 BONUS)
Rachel was so busy today that her head was spinning. At this point, her brain was about to crash.
โWhat about the fourth project I have on hand right now?โ
Yale thought about it, putting himself in Tylerโs shoes. โI think this time, donโt say itโs from overseas again. If we keep pushing that angle, Iโm afraid it really will expose us.โ
Rachel nodded in agreement. โAlright, letโs go with what you suggest first.โ
โOkay. Also, Ms. Lloyd, could I trouble you later? When you sing for Mr. Hunt, please sing a bit longer. Help him sleep more deeply. He hasnโt closed his eyes in days. If it werenโt for Mr. Lloydโs incident, I doubt youโd even be seeing him today.โ
Rachel frowned, her heart clenching just at the thought of him going several nights without sleep. Was this man trying to destroy himself?
She asked Yale, โAnd you donโt even try to persuade him?โ
Yale smiled bitterly. โIโd have to be able to persuade him first. You know what Mr. Huntโs like better than anyone.โ
Rachel thought about it and realized he had a point. โFine. If thereโs any other issue later, let me know. For now, Iโd better get back inside.โ
Yale nodded.
Back in the living room, Rachel told Jerry, โIf youโre tired, get some rest. Donโt push yourself too hard.โ
Jerry, however, was more worried about her. โRachel, arenโt you going to rest a bit? And why does Mr. Hunt need you to stay with him just to sleep?โ
โBecause he has a habitโhe likes to listen to me singing while he falls asleep.โ
Jerry was puzzled. โOnly singing?โ
Rachel was honest. โYeah.โ
Jerry immediately offered, โThen how about this? You go rest, Iโll sing for Mr. Hunt. What kind of songs does he like?โ
Rachel was dumbfounded. โUhhโฆโ
Yale, who had just returned from the balcony, was also stunned for a moment before hurrying over.
โJerry, right? The thing is, Mr. Hunt only likes listening to women singing. Men? Not so much.โ
Jerry, always blunt, blurted out without thinking, โWow, Mr. Hunt sure is picky.โ
Yale was speechless.
Rachel knew Jerry meant no harm. He was just genuinely trying to let her rest.
She rose on tiptoe, placed a hand on his shoulder, and said, โEnough, stop worrying about me. Go handle your own stuff.โ
Jerry didnโt push further.
Rachel went back into the room. Tyler was leaning against the bed, focused on his phone, clearly immersed in work from the look on his face.
Carrying a cup of water, Rachel casually walked over to his side. โI heard from Yale that your company already has investors interested. Why havenโt you agreed yet?โ
Tyler finished typing his last few words, closed the phone, and set it aside. His tone was displeased.
โYale really doesnโt know what heโs doing. Next month, maybe I should just ship him off to the media department to work as a paparazzo.โ
โCome on, Yaleโs just concerned about you. And honestly, with a boss as difficult as you, who else besides Yale could even put up with you? Be grateful.โ
Tyler wrapped an arm around Rachelโs waist and pulled her firmly into his lap. He clicked his tongue and looked into her crystal-clear eyes.
โWhat, youโre taking Yaleโs side now? Not that he has abs or anything. Those college boys who added you the other day, though? Theyโre in way better shape.โ
If he hadnโt mentioned this, Rachel wouldnโt have remembered how last time, out of nowhere, her Facebook homepage had been mysteriously hidden.
She struggled out of Tylerโs arms to sit up, though he leaned right against her still, steadying her as if afraid she might lose balance.
Tilting her head, she looked him straight in the eye and said firmly, โDid you mess with my Facebook account?โ
