Chapter 564
Rachel was wearing a white shirt that was smooth and silky to the touch. There was a rosy glow to her fair, dewy cheeks, and her crystal-clear eyes sparkled with innocence.
Tylerโs warm fingers rubbed against her waist through her shirt. In a low, sensual voice, he said, โMs. Lloyd, must you raise this topic at a place like this?โ
That was when Rachel realized there were way too many people in the hospital.
To make matters worse, Tylerโs outstanding features made him the center of attention no matter where he was, and that included the hospital as well.
Rachel had already noticed Tyler turning the heads of many nurses. He had a tall, towering figure; the black shirt and pants he casually threw on before leaving the house did nothing to weaken his suave and graceful demeanor. He was indeed a sight to behold, not someone easily forgettable.
Rachel pushed him away, worried about being the target of hostility from all the women in the hospital.
โLetโs go, attention seeker.โ
Tyler held back a chuckle and quickly caught up with her in two strides. He teased, โJealous?โ
โSays who? What can I do if other women want a piece of you? Whatโs more, we arenโt even a real couple. Itโs none of my business if someone wants to check you out or if you want to check someone out.โ
They continued bickering with each other until they reached the door of Williamโs ward, where Cassandra and Thomas caught sight of Tyler rubbing Rachelโs head affectionately.
Thomasโ face blackened in an instant. He looked sternly at them.
โThis is the hospital, and William is right inside! The doctor said he needs at least three months to recover fully. Heโll be hospitalized and under observation for a week. His entire arm is in a cast, and you two are still in the mood to flirt around? Are you trying to anger me to an early grave?โ
Tyler stuck both hands in his pockets, the usual chill settling back on his face. โYou should make William reflect on his lack of manners toward his elders.โ
Thomas banged his cane on the floor. โEven so, you shouldnโt have hurt him! Thatโs wrong, no matter what!โ
โAll the more you should question William instead,โ Tyler rebutted self-assuredly. โHe wanted to hit my girlfriend. If someone wanted to hit your wife, would you stand idly by and let her get attacked?โ
โOf course not,โ Thomas replied instinctively.
Tyler smirked. โThere you have it.โ
Thomas pursed his lips, his face turning darker.
He shut his eyes; with a wave of his hand in the direction of Williamโs ward, he said, โHurry up and go in. Nothing can change the fact that you were the one who injured him.โ
Tyler was about to enter with Rachel in tow when Thomas instructed coldly, โMs. Lloyd, please stay.โ
Rachel stopped dead in her tracks.
Tyler instinctively pulled Rachel behind him. Displeased, he snapped, โYou just donโt know when to stop, do you? Are you so bent on bullying her at every turn?โ
Thomas shot Tyler an exasperated look. โIโm an old bag of bones. Surely, I wonโt be able to hurt her. I just want a word with her. I didnโt see you so anxious when they were resuscitating me at the hospital before.โ
He didnโt forget to scoff in annoyance.
Rachel gripped Tylerโs hand. โItโs fine. This isnโt my first time talking to Mr. Lewis, anyway. Go ahead and see William.โ
