Chapter 563
Rachel looked at Tyler, slightly stunned at his question.
โHuh?โ
Tyler arched a brow. โWhat? Did you not understand my question? Should I repeat myself?โ
Rachel swallowed past her constricted throat.
โNo need,โ she mumbled awkwardly.
Tyler wrapped a lock of her hair around his finger. โSo, answer me.โ
Rachel couldnโt figure out how Tyler managed to ask something so awkward without batting an eyelid. She had no idea what to say.
After a momentโs pause, she asked, โDo you have to ask something so awkward?โ
โYep.โ Tyler had always been a straight talker and never bothered mincing his words.
Rachel wasnโt mad, knowing his temperament. She clenched her fists and shook her head.
โNo.โ
The knot in Tylerโs brows unravelled as he reached out to rub Rachelโs head as though she were Ray. โYouโre such a good girl. Donโt pick up such bad habits from others, alright?โ
Rachel looked aghast at the licentious look on Tylerโs face and scoffed, โTyler, do you want to check out your reflection in the mirror? Youโre so two-faced.โ
โReally? Let me seeโฆโ
Tyler seized the chance when he stopped the car at a red light to check his reflection in the sun visor mirror.
โI think I look quite handsome.โ
Rachel was rendered speechless by how unreasonable Tyler was being. He had such double standards, allowing himself to do what he frowned upon for others.
Rachel patted his shoulder when she saw the traffic light turn green.
โYou can drive now.โ
As the car drove into the hospital, Rachel realized that they had come empty-handed.
โShould we buy something for him?โ
Tyler swung the car door shut. โSo desperate to throw your money away?โ
โItโs fine by me. I was just thinking of you. Maybe youโd find it awkward to visit him empty-handed. Youโre his uncle, after all.โ
โSo what if Iโm his uncle? He doesnโt treat me as his uncle and even dared to speak to you like that.โ Tyler pulled Rachel into his arms, his entire body engulfing her petite frame.
He added in all seriousness, โRemember this. You can do anything you please in my name. In the same way, anyone who insults you insults me too. Got that?โ
Rachel looked up at him with crystal clear eyes. From her angle, she could see his sharp jawline. His eyes were almost mesmerizing; she couldnโt help but stare at them a tad longer.
Her heart started racing.
She knew what it felt like to have someone standing up for her, but that felt starkly different from what she was feeling right now.
William would always apologize to others on her behalf and then cajole her privately after the issue blew over, and that would be it.
Tyler, on the other hand, stood on her side no matter who was in the wrong. It was a blatant partiality that was unconditional.
A strange thought suddenly came to Rachelโs mind.
โTyler, you treat your girlfriend pretty well. Why havenโt you found one after so long?โ
Tyler drawled as he held her hand and walked into the hospital, โDonโt want to.โ
Rachel followed up with another question. โHow do you deal with your biological urges, then?โ
The moment she asked her question, Tyler wrapped an arm around her svelte waist and pulled her into his embrace, leaving no gap whatsoever between them.
