Chapter 553
Thomas sighed and waved. โForget it. But seriously, you know exactly what Tylerโs like. Why would you go and provoke him?โ
โI tried to talk William out of it, but you know the history between him and Rachel. Dad, canโt you try talking some sense into Tyler? Heโs dating Williamโs ex-wife! If word gets out, it wonโt just damage Williamโs reputationโyours will be dragged down with it, too. The Lewis family name has stood strong for generations. Are we really going to let it all fall apart because of Rachel?โ Cassandra insisted.
Of course Thomas understood all that, but what could he do? He had spent his life keeping everything under control. Everyone in the Lewis family revolved around him, everyone except Tyler. He was born defiant.
No matter what Thomas tried, nothing ever worked on Tyler. Their relationship had deteriorated to what it was now simply because neither of them would back down. If either one had been willing to compromise even a little, things mightโve turned out differently.
Cassandra had hit a nerve, and Thomas shot her a glare.
โYou think I donโt know all that already? You saw for yourself today how Tyler acts. If youโre so clever, then figure out a solution yourself!โ
That shut Cassandra up completely.
Everyone present knew the truth. Tyler was a force of nature. He was stubborn as a mule, harder to handle than a wild animal.
With the kind of power he had now, he didnโt need the Lewis family. On the other hand, the Lewis family might still need him.
Another Lewis pulled Cassandra aside to console her. โYou should check on William at the hospital. As long as heโs not seriously hurt, thatโs all that matters. And knowing Tyler, I doubt he really lost all control.โ
Cassandra sneered. โOh, please! With the way heโs obsessed with Rachel, he doesnโt even see William as family anymore.โ
Thomas was getting more and more irritated by her whining. โEnough already. Just go. Call me if thereโs anything to update.โ
โOkayโฆโ
Realizing heโd had enough, Cassandra didnโt dare push further.
Meanwhile, Rachel and Tyler had gotten into the car. Yale followed close behind.
Tyler turned to face him. โWho told you to come?โ
Yale nodded. โApologies, Mr. Hunt. I came to deliver a document that requires your signature urgently. I didnโt have time to call ahead.โ
Tyler gave him a cold look. โDonโt let it happen again.โ
โYes, understood.โ
Yale handed over the document. Tyler glanced at it, and instantly, his brows furrowed. Without warning, he threw the document back at Yale.
โAre you getting too old to handle your job properly? Did you even check this report? Are the figures complete? Is the budget sound? Does the proposal have any loopholes?โ
Yale froze for a second, flustered, and scrambled to catch the document. He looked down and said, โI was told another department already did a final check. They said it was ready to go. Iโve been tied up managing the subsidiary company, so Iโโ
One sharp glare from Tyler cut him off mid-sentence.
Tylerโs voice turned cold.
โYale, I swear youโre getting more useless by the day. You know exactly what the board has been plotting lately. Donโt play dumb. If something like this happens again, donโt bother showing your face at the company.โ
