Chapter 280: Make Room for Me
Fraser finished speaking and began leading Summer away. Trevorโs eyes turned red, and he clenched his teeth, speaking slowly and deliberately: โFraser, youโd better treat her well. If you donโt, I swear I wonโt let you off.โ
Fraser lifted his gaze, his eyes cold, lips curving into a mocking smile. โYouโre the last person qualified to say that to me.โ His words pierced Trevorโs heart like a blade. If only he hadnโt trusted Peyton back then! If only heโd paid more attention to Summerโs feelings! If only heโd arrived earlier during the kidnapping! Would things be different now? But there were no โifs.โ
Trevorโs chest ached unbearably, his words slipping out in desperation. โFraser, can you honestly say you donโt care about the five years Summer and I spent together?โ
Summer frowned immediately upon hearing this. โEnough! Trevor, donโt ruin the goodwill I still have left from when you saved me.โ Trevorโs eyes narrowed painfully, and he quickly apologized, โSorry, Iโฆ didnโt mean it like that.โ
Fraser looked down into Summerโs eyes, dark and unreadable. Summer quietly returned his gaze. In the past, theyโd argued a few times over this very topic. She wasnโt sure how Fraser would react this time. After a short pause, Fraser spoke casually, his voice betraying no emotion: โWhy would I care about something irrelevant?โ
Summerโs fingers twitched slightly. Fraser suddenly reached out, gently lifting Summerโs chin. Right in front of Trevor, he pressed his lips onto hers, boldly kissing her, claiming her sweetness openly. Trevor stiffened, his vision blurring momentarily. Veins bulged in his neck as jealousy and anger surged through him. Just as Trevor was about to recklessly step forward to separate them, Fraser slowly ended the kiss, pulling back. He gave Trevor a contemptuous smirk, openly provoking him. โYouโve already lost.โ
With that, Fraser pulled Summerโstill dazed from the kissโclose and strode out of there.
Inside the car, Fraser pulled out a cigarette, spinning the lighter skillfully between his fingers. Just as the flame flickered to life, Fraser hesitated, then abruptly extinguished it, tossing both the lighter and cigarette straight out the window.
Summer sat in the passenger seat, silently observing his sharply defined profile, deep eyes, and perfectly chiseled jaw. His expression was unreadable. Summer softly asked, โAre you angry?โ
โHm?โ
Fraser turned to look at her, eyes dark and intense, voice deepening, โNot angry.โ Jealous. Without warning, Fraser reached out, easily pulling Summer from her seat onto his lap. He stared intently into her beautiful eyes, not moving, his gaze filled completely with her. After a few seconds, Fraserโs deep voice held a subtle plea, barely noticeable. โSummer, can you make room for me in your heart?โ
Summer stared at his flawless face, momentarily stunned. โMake room?โ
Fraser slowly licked his teeth, speaking clearly, โI want you to love me.โ Summer froze. โIโฆโ Before she could finish, Fraser pressed his hand to the back of her head and kissed her deeply, murmuring softly against her lips. โItโs fine. Even if itโs just me loving you, thatโs enough.โ The air between them thickened with intimacy.
Moments later, Fraser returned to his usual lazy demeanor as if the vulnerable moment earlier never happened. He playfully pinched Summerโs delicate earlobe, his voice teasing yet seductive. โWill you stay with me tonight?โ
โConsider it thanks for letting you blow off steam earlier.โ Summer knew he was referring to teaching Philip a lesson. Suddenly, a loud clap of thunder roared outside, and dark clouds quickly gathered, promising a storm. Fraser glanced out the window and chuckled softly. โYou said youโre afraid of thunder. Let me make it up to you for not being there that night.โ
Summer remembered her follow-up checkup was scheduled for tomorrow. Just then, her phone rang. Summer answered. Fraser lowered his gaze, gently playing with her fingers one by one. Juliaโs voice came through the phone, โSummer, youโre not going back to Brookhaven Estates tonight, right?โ
Feeling Fraserโs touch, Summer quietly said, โMom, itโs thundering.โ
โHmm?โ
Julia glanced out the window, noticing the gathering storm. โShould I have the driver pick you up? Youโre pregnantโitโs not safe to drive yourself.โ
