Chapter 280: Make Room for Me

Fraser finished speaking and began leading Summer away. Trevorโ€™s eyes turned red, and he clenched his teeth, speaking slowly and deliberately: โ€œFraser, youโ€™d better treat her well. If you donโ€™t, I swear I wonโ€™t let you off.โ€

Fraser lifted his gaze, his eyes cold, lips curving into a mocking smile. โ€œYouโ€™re the last person qualified to say that to me.โ€ His words pierced Trevorโ€™s heart like a blade. If only he hadnโ€™t trusted Peyton back then! If only heโ€™d paid more attention to Summerโ€™s feelings! If only heโ€™d arrived earlier during the kidnapping! Would things be different now? But there were no โ€œifs.โ€

Trevorโ€™s chest ached unbearably, his words slipping out in desperation. โ€œFraser, can you honestly say you donโ€™t care about the five years Summer and I spent together?โ€

Summer frowned immediately upon hearing this. โ€œEnough! Trevor, donโ€™t ruin the goodwill I still have left from when you saved me.โ€ Trevorโ€™s eyes narrowed painfully, and he quickly apologized, โ€œSorry, Iโ€ฆ didnโ€™t mean it like that.โ€

Fraser looked down into Summerโ€™s eyes, dark and unreadable. Summer quietly returned his gaze. In the past, theyโ€™d argued a few times over this very topic. She wasnโ€™t sure how Fraser would react this time. After a short pause, Fraser spoke casually, his voice betraying no emotion: โ€œWhy would I care about something irrelevant?โ€

Summerโ€™s fingers twitched slightly. Fraser suddenly reached out, gently lifting Summerโ€™s chin. Right in front of Trevor, he pressed his lips onto hers, boldly kissing her, claiming her sweetness openly. Trevor stiffened, his vision blurring momentarily. Veins bulged in his neck as jealousy and anger surged through him. Just as Trevor was about to recklessly step forward to separate them, Fraser slowly ended the kiss, pulling back. He gave Trevor a contemptuous smirk, openly provoking him. โ€œYouโ€™ve already lost.โ€

With that, Fraser pulled Summerโ€”still dazed from the kissโ€”close and strode out of there.

Inside the car, Fraser pulled out a cigarette, spinning the lighter skillfully between his fingers. Just as the flame flickered to life, Fraser hesitated, then abruptly extinguished it, tossing both the lighter and cigarette straight out the window.

Summer sat in the passenger seat, silently observing his sharply defined profile, deep eyes, and perfectly chiseled jaw. His expression was unreadable. Summer softly asked, โ€œAre you angry?โ€

โ€œHm?โ€

Fraser turned to look at her, eyes dark and intense, voice deepening, โ€œNot angry.โ€ Jealous. Without warning, Fraser reached out, easily pulling Summer from her seat onto his lap. He stared intently into her beautiful eyes, not moving, his gaze filled completely with her. After a few seconds, Fraserโ€™s deep voice held a subtle plea, barely noticeable. โ€œSummer, can you make room for me in your heart?โ€

Summer stared at his flawless face, momentarily stunned. โ€œMake room?โ€

Fraser slowly licked his teeth, speaking clearly, โ€œI want you to love me.โ€ Summer froze. โ€œIโ€ฆโ€ Before she could finish, Fraser pressed his hand to the back of her head and kissed her deeply, murmuring softly against her lips. โ€œItโ€™s fine. Even if itโ€™s just me loving you, thatโ€™s enough.โ€ The air between them thickened with intimacy.

Moments later, Fraser returned to his usual lazy demeanor as if the vulnerable moment earlier never happened. He playfully pinched Summerโ€™s delicate earlobe, his voice teasing yet seductive. โ€œWill you stay with me tonight?โ€

โ€œConsider it thanks for letting you blow off steam earlier.โ€ Summer knew he was referring to teaching Philip a lesson. Suddenly, a loud clap of thunder roared outside, and dark clouds quickly gathered, promising a storm. Fraser glanced out the window and chuckled softly. โ€œYou said youโ€™re afraid of thunder. Let me make it up to you for not being there that night.โ€

Summer remembered her follow-up checkup was scheduled for tomorrow. Just then, her phone rang. Summer answered. Fraser lowered his gaze, gently playing with her fingers one by one. Juliaโ€™s voice came through the phone, โ€œSummer, youโ€™re not going back to Brookhaven Estates tonight, right?โ€

Feeling Fraserโ€™s touch, Summer quietly said, โ€œMom, itโ€™s thundering.โ€

โ€œHmm?โ€

Julia glanced out the window, noticing the gathering storm. โ€œShould I have the driver pick you up? Youโ€™re pregnantโ€”itโ€™s not safe to drive yourself.โ€
