Chapter 105: Pleading for Forgiveness
Peyton had come in that dress to shed her innocent image, hoping a drunk Trevor might fall for her allure. If she could hook up with him and get pregnant, sheโd secure her spot as Mrs. Larson. But now, stripping before winning him over? Sheโd be ruined in Havenbrook.
Bobby grinned. โSheโs got one dress. She strips, sheโs naked. Whereโs Trevorโs dignity then?โ
Yvette scoffed. โTrevorโs dignity? Trevor, whatโs your deal with Peyton?โ
Trevor frowned; he had no ties to her but didnโt want her humiliated publicly. Yvette mocked, โDating? Say yes in front of Summer, and Iโll let her off.โ
Summer thought, Why drag me in?
Peyton hoped Trevor would save her, tears welling up as she stared at him. He glanced at Summerโs icy expression, lost for words.
Yvette pounced. โNot dating? Then strip.โ
Bobby protested, but Yvette snapped, โSummer took her punishment. Now itโs Peytonโs turn, and you complain?โ
Silenced, the group watched. Trevor didnโt intervene, and Peyton wasnโt their priority. Some guys even egged her on. โYea, come on, strip!โ
Peyton clutched her skirt, refusing.
Yvette was furious. โBitch, you bullied Summer for so long, now itโs my turn to protect her, donโt you dare bully her again.โ
Before everyone reacted, Yvette lunged, fueled by booze and fury, tearing the dress to shreds with practiced ease.
Peyton collapsed, barely covered, sobbing, โTrevor, help me!โ
Whistles erupted as everyone saw Peytonโs white, pearl-skinned body. Trevor stood, draped his jacket over her, and silenced the room with a deadly glare. Everyone in the room silenced.
Yvette, spent, slumped as the alcohol hit. Summer steadied her, saying to Caleb, โHappy birthday. Gameโs over, weโre out.โ
They left, but Yvette was fading fast. Summer got her to a sofa and was about to call for help when Trevor grabbed her wrist. She shook him off. โLet go!โ
Trevor looked worn. โIโm done with Peyton. If she bothers you, Iโll cut her off.โ
โOh, that jacket move was real friendly,โ Summer snapped.
His fists clenched, knuckles white. โIt was just as a friend. I swear, last time.โ
โSo? Itโs got nothing to do with me,โ she said, impatient to get Yvette home.
Trevorโs eyes reddened, his voice hoarse with a rare plea. โSummer, come back to me. I was too arrogant, I didnโt cherish you, I always thought youโd stay. Can you give me one more chance to make it right?โ
It was the first time sheโd seen him so humbled. Trevor was proud, cold even, his wealth and status feeding his ego. In their five years together, heโd never been like this. For a moment, she was speechless.
