Chapter 242

Sienna looked at her arm, held by Zach. "What's wrong?" He didn't seem to want her to leave.

Zach was stunned. He couldn't help but sneer inwardly. How could she even ask such a question? Even if she were Josiah's girlfriend, Zach couldn't afford to be polite. He said coldly, "You can't go. Mr. Flynn must see you when he wakes."

"Why?" Sienna frowned, genuinely confused. "I'm not a doctor or a nurse."

"Is she serious?" Zach thought, speechless, his blood rushing to his head. "You are Mr. Flynn's girlfriend. He is still unconscious. Is it appropriate for you to leave like this?" He spoke with such righteousness, as if Sienna were a heinous criminal.

Sienna didn't get angry. Instead, she smiled and glanced at the ward. "Do you know why Mr. Flynn was injured?"

Zach was stunned, his eyes flickering with guilt.

Sienna maintained her smile. "Mr. Flynn was injured because of Yvette. The person he wants to see when he wakes up is also her. Whether I am here or not is not important."

Then, she struggled free of Zach's grip. "You can let go now."

Zach, speechless and unable to refute, released her hand.

Sienna smiled and nodded. "Thank you." Without pausing, she turned and left.

Zach stood rooted to the spot, at his wit's end. He thought, What should I do? Although Sienna makes sense, I still feel that Mr. Flynn wants to see her when he wakes up. Sienna really has no feelings for Mr. Flynn.

It was almost nine o'clock when Josiah woke. He felt fine, as if he had just awakened from a long sleep.

"Josiah, you're awake!" It was Yvette's familiar voice, laced with surprise.

She wore the same hospital gown. Compared to Josiah, she was only slightly unwell, having caught a cold, exacerbated by emotional distress and fright. She was weak, and Howard insisted on hospitalization for observation. Howard was also guarding the ward.

Josiah nodded. "Yvette, Howard."

"You're finally awake!" Yvette glared at him. "You've been asleep for too long. How are you feeling? Are you unwell?"

"No," Josiah replied. "It's just a little difficult to move."

Yvette helped him sit up, chiding, "Lie down. Don't move. You have so many injuries. You need to rest."

"It's fine," Josiah smiled indifferently. "It's just some skin trauma."

He looked at Howard. "Howard, does Sienna know about my injury?" He wondered if Sienna might have called before his injury. "Did you contact Sienna? Is she okay?"

Before Howard could answer, Yvette sneered sarcastically. "What could happen to her? Don't worry about her. She's fine."

"Yvette," Howard frowned.

"What? Am I wrong!" Yvette curled her lips, her words full of dissatisfaction with Sienna. "You're hospitalized, but she left for work before you woke up. Is her job more important than you?" Yvette's anger escalated. "You still ask about her. You miss her so much, but she doesn't care about you at all."

Howard interrupted, "Yvette, stop talking."

Yvette ignored him. "If I stop talking, will it change anything?"

Seeing Josiah's sour expression, Howard said, "Yvette was too blunt. Sienna rushed to the hospital when she heard about your accident and stayed outside the operating room the whole time. She had to work, so she likely couldn't take leave."

Josiah's expression softened. He smiled. "I know. Sienna has always been timid. She doesn't even dare to miss a single day of work."

"It's good that you understand," Howard said, relieved. "It was my fault for not thinking things through. You rest well. Sienna is timid. I'll have someone ask for leave for her so she can come and accompany you."

"Okay," Josiah grinned. "Thank you, Howard."

"Don't mention it. We're brothers," Howard replied.

Yvette sneered and looked away.

Zach went to the dance troupe to arrange Sienna's leave. Afterward, he went to the rehearsal room and found Sienna.

Zach said sternly, "Sienna, Mr. Flynn is awake. I've already asked for leave for you. I'm here to take you to the hospital."

Sienna was surprised. She wanted to explain that since he was awake, there was no need to take her; there were nurses. She wasn't any better at patient care than a nurse.

Zach gave her no chance to refuse. "Mr. Flynn wants to see you. I must take you with me." He grabbed her wrist, pulled her into the car, and drove her to the hospital.

At the ward door, Zach knocked. "Mr. Flynn, I've brought Sienna."

Sienna sighed and pushed open the door. Inside, Josiah wasn't alone.

Yvette, dressed in her own clothes, had finished her checkup and was awaiting Howard to pick her up.

The two were talking; Sienna couldn't make out what. As she entered, she heard Yvette's soft sobs. Josiah handed her a tissue. "Have a good talk with Howard. He was wrong, butโ€ฆ" He looked up and saw Sienna. "Sienna," he said with a joyful smile. "You're here."

Sienna glanced at him, then Yvette. "Josiah looked for you all night and even got hurt. Are you alright?"

"I'm fine," Yvette replied, surprised by Sienna's concern. Composing herself, she wiped her tears and stood. "Howard should be here soon. I'll go out and wait for him."

"Okay," Sienna smiled, walking her to the door. "Take care."

"Hmm," Yvette awkwardly pursed her lips and left.

Josiah sat on the bed, extending his hand. "Sienna, come here."

Sienna closed the door and sat in the chair Yvette had occupied. "How are you feeling?"

Josiah's lips twitched. "Don't sit there. Come here. Let me hug you."

Sienna glanced at his bandages and smiled softly. "Stop messing around. With all those injuries, don't even think about hugging me. You might reopen your wounds."

Josiah smiled. "You're worried about me."

"What!" Sienna exclaimed. "You weren't injured because of me. Why should I worry about you?"
