Chapter 193
After all, she had never been hard on herself, but she tripped badly on Julian. Therefore, she would rather freeze a while longer than stay in the car with him. She didn't see the expectation in Julian's cold eyes and shook her head in refusal.
"No, I called a taxi. Thank Mr. Galloway for me."
Rosalie worried that speaking harshly would cause Julian to lose his mind again and renege on his word about the proceedings tomorrow, so she spoke very nicely. Alan expected Rosalie to refuse; no one would be happy to be divorced by their husband in the middle of the night. But as a conscientious special assistant, he felt obligated to make one more effort to save his boss's failing marriage.
So he said to Rosalie, "Mrs. Galloway, it's difficult to call a taxi at this hour and in this weather. Look, the snow is getting heavier. Why don't you let me drive you home?"
Alan didn't care whether Rosalie had called a taxi or not; he simply assumed she hadn't. In such terrible weather, if Rosalie were to fall ill from the cold, his perpetually single boss would be in real trouble.
Rosalie frowned slightly and was about to refuse when a flashy pink Ferrari screeched to a halt behind the Maybach, deliberately creating a sharp braking sound. Rosalie was at a loss for words. She thought, "Do you have to drive such a flashy car in the middle of the night?"
Looking at the pink-suited, flashy man exiting the Ferrari, Rosalie was speechless but relieved.
"Rosalie, I'm here."
Furthermore, Eden opened his pink umbrella and quickly ran to Rosalie, shielding her from the falling snow.
Looking at the pink things before her—car, suit, umbrella—Rosalie felt a mix of emotions. She always felt Eden had an inexplicable obsession with pink.
Eden said, "Look at you, sick and still standing in the snow. Aren't you deliberately making me feel distressed?"
Rosalie was speechless. She thought, 'You are so flashy.'
Eden continued, "Let's get in the car quickly. I'll warm you up."
She wondered if he deliberately omitted "turn on the heater," leaving the statement ambiguous.
Alan looked at the pink-obsessed man, secretly glancing at Julian, who sat in the back seat with a livid face, seemingly about to lose control. Unconsciously, Alan pictured a dramatic scene of a wife caught cheating.
Rosalie didn't know what Julian and Alan were thinking. She was so cold that talking felt like a waste of energy, so she was about to get into Eden's car.
Just as she passed the Maybach's back seat, the black car window slowly lowered, revealing Julian's cold, sharp eyes. He called to her through clenched teeth. His gaze swept over Rosalie and landed on the man beside her, dressed in pink from head to toe.
Julian intended to ignore Rosalie, but seeing her intimate interaction with this man and hearing him offer to warm her up, he felt compelled to pull her away.
