Chapter 182
Rosalie woke an hour later, her throat dry and burning as if filled with chili peppers. She felt as though her throat were on fire and couldn't speak. She sat up, propping herself up with her arms, regaining some strength. She looked around and realized she was in a hospital.
“I vaguely remember waiting for Eden to pick me up in the Skyline Bar lobby,” she thought. “I don’t know how long I waited, only that I was so dizzy and sleepy I fell asleep.” During that time, she seemed to have heard people arguing. She didn't know who they were and simply disliked the noise, but she was too weak to react. After that, she felt like someone carried her away from the bar. Then, she woke up in the hospital. It was probably Eden who brought her here.
Rosalie glanced at the IV drip on her hand. Seeing it was almost finished, she reached out to remove the needle. At that moment, she was extremely thirsty, but Eden seemed to have gone off somewhere. She didn't plan to call him; her throat was so dry she wanted to get a glass of warm water.
She was lying in the rest area next to the emergency room. Because she only had a fever, they hadn't arranged for a ward. She could go home after the IV drip was finished. There were no water dispensers in the rest area, so Rosalie left to get some water from the staff lounge. Just as she turned the corner, she saw two people standing nearby. One was Roseanne; the other, with his back to her, was Julian. Having spent over a year together, she knew his appearance well; she recognized him even from behind.
She frowned slightly, unhappy about this chance encounter. “What an unlucky day,” she muttered, turning toward the staff lounge. As she did, Julian turned around and saw her walking away.
