Chapter 172

Roseanne was adaptable, knowing that offending Anya was unwise. She still needed Anya's support to marry into the Galloway family. Anya, however, seemed unconcerned with Roseanne's intentions. Hearing her words, Anya smiled and said, "Is that so? If you were that busy, then you probably didn't have time to think of me."

Roseanne was taken aback. ‘Anya, fuck you. You really know how to push my buttons. Can't you just talk to me nicely? Why are you being so confrontational?’ she wondered. Roseanne initially suspected Rosalie's involvement. Rosalie had clearly seen them and spent time with Anya, yet hadn't spoken ill of Roseanne. This surprised Roseanne.

The more Roseanne considered it, the more she believed it possible. Her resentment toward Rosalie intensified. If Rosalie hadn't spoken badly of her to Anya, why would Anya be so confrontational? They had never previously conflicted. The only explanation was Rosalie's malicious slander.

‘No, I can't let Rosalie ruin my image in Anya's eyes,’ Roseanne thought. With a sense of grievance, she said, “Anya, do you have some misunderstanding about me? We haven't seen each other for so long, and yet you…” While not a direct accusation, the implication was clear: Anya had intentionally targeted her.
