Chapter 800 Iโve Got Plenty of Money
Hayleyโs POV:
โThe owner?โ The guards exchanged confused looks. โAre you saying these two ladies own the mall?โ
โNo way! The general manager is a guy, and his last name isnโt Estrada!โ
โThe owner changed hands five minutes ago,โ the manager said, his voice raised and final.
โWhat did you just say?โ Celine looked like she couldnโt believe it. โThis entire mall was sold in minutes?โ
โWe have to thank you for that,โ the manager replied with a grin. โIf it werenโt for your behavior, no one wouldโve offered five times the mallโs value.โ
โFive times?! Thatโs insane!โ Celine looked like her brain short-circuited.
The manager ignored her completely and turned toward us, bowing slightly. โMs. Estrada, Ms. Carson, is there anything else I can help you with?โ
I shot a look at Celine and smirked. โYeah. I donโt want trash like her ruining my day.โ
โExactly. Toss her out. And donโt let her back in,โ Scarlett chimed in.
Celine crossed her arms and bared her teeth. โDonโt you dare!โ
The managerโs voice cut clean through hers. โYou guys heard the boss. Get her out of here!โ
Two from the group of werewolf bodyguards didnโt hesitate as they grabbed Celine and started hauling her toward the exit.
โLet go of me! Youโll regret this! Iโll never forgive you! Ah-โ Her shrieks echoed as she disappeared. The guards who had sided with her earlier dropped to their knees, shaking.
Now that they were gone, the store returned to calm.
The manager turned to Freya and asked, โWhat would you like us to do about Ms. Sander?โ
Freya froze for a second, her eyes flickering with panic, but she quickly put her usual smug look back on. โNo need. Iโll leave by myself.โ
She paused, then glared at me. โHayley, youโre making enemies everywhere. Donโt come running to me when payback comes knocking!โ
I shrugged fearlessly and smirked. โJust make sure youโre still around to see it. You might not get the chance.โ
Freya clenched her fists as she stared at me for a few seconds, then stormed out in anger.
โHold on-โ Scarlett said slowly, dragging out the word. The guards at the entrance got the message and blocked Freyaโs path.
โLeave the stuff,โ Scarlett said coolly.
โI paid for these!โ Freya snapped through clenched teeth.
Scarlett crossed her arms, giving her the smuggest look ever. โSo what? Iโll give you double the price you paid. Iโve got plenty of money. My mall doesnโt serve people like you.โ
Watching Freya on the verge of losing it, I gave Scarlett a thumbs-up.
โFine! Whatever!โ Freya spat. โHayley, this isnโt over!โ She gave us both a nasty glare, threw her shopping bag on the ground, shifted into her wolf form, and bolted out of the store.
Scarlett and I high-fived and shared a knowing smile.
Not long after, it was time for the banquet.
We pulled up to the Sandersโ Residence by car.
As soon as I stepped out, I noticed how perfectly set up the courtyard was. It had that fancy, serious vibe to it.
It was obvious that the Sanders had gone all out for this event.
Even the house staff standing on both sides of the main path to greet us were high-ranking werewolf enforcers.
Freya and Alan stood right under a flower-covered arch.
But Virginia and Laurel were nowhere in sight.
Everything looked super formal and respectful, but I knew betterโit was all just about interests.
Halfway down the path, Freya rushed over and linked arms with me, pretending to be all warm and excited.
As soon as Hera picked up Freyaโs scent, she started getting agitated inside me.
I calmed Hera down and leaned in close to Freya, whispering with a smirk, โYour acting is perfect.โ
Still putting on her elegant act, Freya forced a sweet smile and replied, โIโve got a special surprise waiting for you. Are you looking forward to it?โ
