Chapter 797 Throw Them Out

Hayley’s POV:

It took a while for me to calm down before I finally closed the safe and locked it up.

Right as I entered the last digit of the password, I suddenly thought of Freya.

It was about time I settled things with her for good.

But before I could find her, Freya came to me the very next day.

She sent me a formal invite to the Sanders’ banquet to welcome me back.

It came under Alan’s name. The message was short and straight to the point. He mentioned hearing about the top-grade sapphire I’d gotten and hoped I’d bring it to the banquet to show everyone.

There were a few fake-sounding compliments tossed in, and of course, he ended it with a reminder that I should also bring the land deed I had snatched from Freya that day.

I called Benjamin right away to vent my frustration.

He was furious on my behalf. “They’re just trying to cozy up to you, throwing fancy words and fake titles around so they can grab credit for everything you’ve done. Honestly, they’re shameless.

“You’re already part of the Shadow Pack’s ruling family, and you’re going to be my Luna. Being the Sanders’ heiress means nothing compared to that.

“I think you shouldn’t go, or at least postpone it until I’m back. I’m your fiancé. It makes no sense for me to miss an event like that.”

“No need. I’ve got it covered,” I said with a smirk. “I have to go.”

“Oh? Sounds like you’ve got a plan?” he asked curiously.

“Of course.” I wasn’t about to keep it from him. I’ve already dug up plenty of dirt on Freya. It’s only a matter of time before I take her down.

“This event is the perfect setup. I’ve got a solid reason to be there, and it’ll make it easier for me to take control of the Sanders later.

“She wants that land? Fine. Let her have it. But as a professional businesswoman, I’ll make sure I get something way better in return.”

Benjamin teased, “That’s my smart girl! No wonder people should think twice before messing with my dear Hayley!”

I grinned and shot back, “Well, I picked it up from you–the Alpha of the Midnight Pack. You’re a great teacher, Mr. Southwell.”

He chuckled. “Appreciate that. So, anything I can help with?”

“Yeah. Just get back here soon. I’m about to stir things up, and I might need someone to help clean up the mess.”

Truthfully, I could handle it all on my own, but both Hera and I missed him.

I wanted to see him as soon as possible.

“I’ll be back as soon as I can,” he promised.

After he said that, I ended the call and got right to work prepping for the banquet.

That same day, Scarlett and I hopped on a flight back.

Later that evening, we went dress shopping for the event.

Right as we entered the store, we bumped straight into Freya–and that same woman who was with her at the Winterbite Pack auction, Celine.

Celine rolled her eyes at me sarcastically. “Well, look who’s here. I didn’t expect a low-ranking Omega like you would be out here blowing your family’s cash on fancy stuff!”

Before I could say anything, Scarlett jumped in.

“And who are you? Seriously, who raised you to act this rudely? Ever heard of basic respect?”

“How dare you?!” Celine’s wolf eyes flared with rage. Then, she turned and barked, “Security! Over here!”

Two burly werewolf security guards rushed in within seconds, looking respectful. “Yes, miss? What’s going on?”

“They’re nothing but trouble!” Celine shouted, jabbing her finger at us. “Throw them out–now!”
