Chapter 795 Sheโ€™ll Come Back

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

The younger sales associate looked embarrassed and ended up handing the card back to the older one without a word.

The older sales associate beamed, clutching the card tightly. She leaned forward a little and said to me with extra politeness, โ€œMiss, right this way!โ€

I smiled and followed her toward the section with the curtain.

But just before I stepped behind it, the curtain moved, and a short-haired young lady walked out.

She had golden hair, striking blue eyes, and a tanned complexion. She was slim but tall, and I could sense a strange kind of werewolf scent on her.

Hera told me right away that she was probably a mixed-blood, half-human and half-werewolf.

The short-haired young lady looked right at me and said indifferently, โ€œNo need to trouble anyone. Iโ€™m here.โ€

My eyes instantly lit up.

โ€œCindy? You useless half-blood!โ€ the younger sales associate exploded, taking out all her anger on her. โ€œWhy arenโ€™t you in the back unloading boxes? And look at your outfit! Youโ€™ll scare off our customers! Get back inside now!โ€

โ€œCindy?โ€ I repeated her name curiously.

The older sales associate explained softly, โ€œYes, sheโ€™s the only Jefferson here, but sheโ€™s not a designer. Iโ€™m not sure if sheโ€™s the one youโ€™re looking for.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s her,โ€ I said, exhaling slowly.

Her real name was Cynthia, and she was a jewelry designer.

We werenโ€™t exactly friends, but her mentor was Rosalie Jefferson, a world-class jewelry designer.

Back when I studied fashion design, I had some contact with Rosalie. We eventually lost touch, and naturally, I hadnโ€™t crossed paths with Cynthia, the girl Rosalie raised.

Rosalie had once told me Cynthia was mixed-blood and didnโ€™t have an easy time growing up with werewolves. She faced a lot of discrimination.

โ€œI knew I came to the right place.โ€ I looked right at her and said, โ€œLetโ€™s go. This pack isnโ€™t where you belong.โ€

Cynthia didnโ€™t move and stared at me calmly. โ€œThanks, but Iโ€™m staying until I find my mentor."

โ€œBe real,โ€ I said, my patience slipping. โ€œWhat if she never shows up?โ€

โ€œShe will!โ€ For the first time, her cool expression cracked, and her eyes burned with anger.

Her hands clenched into fists as she shouted, โ€œSheโ€™ll be back! Iโ€™m staying here! This place is the center of all werewolf rock betting. Sheโ€™ll show up here one day!โ€

โ€œSo youโ€™re dead set on this?โ€ I stepped closer, my voice low and serious.

She stubbornly shouted again, โ€œYes, Iโ€“mmph!โ€

Before she could finish, I jammed a silver needle into her neck. She instantly passed out.

I shoved her toward Humbert, who was still frozen in shock, and instructed, โ€œTake her.โ€

To stop anything crazy from happening once Cynthia woke up, we quickly left the jewelry store and went straight for the plane.

When she finally regained consciousness during the flight, she shot me a furious glare. โ€œI donโ€™t care where you take me! Iโ€™ll get back there!

โ€œIf I canโ€™t wait for my mentor, Iโ€™d rather die in the Cyclone Pack!โ€

โ€œDo you think I canโ€™t manage without you?โ€ I snapped, clenching my jaw. Her attitude was seriously pushing me to the edge.

Right away, she blew up like an angry wolf cub. โ€œThen untie me! Who told you to step in? Iโ€™m choosing to stay! What gives you the right to mess with my life?โ€

โ€œIf you donโ€™t shut up, Iโ€™ll kill you right here. Youโ€™ll never see your mentor again!โ€ I shouted, finally hitting my limit.
