Chapter 758 Cyclone Pack

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

I came to a sudden stop and turned my head, just in time to see a crowded street part like the Red Sea.

A man was charging through the chaos, shoving aside innocent bystanders as he barreled toward me, one hand clutching a luxury handbag high above his head.

People who didnโ€™t want trouble instinctively stepped out of his way.

But I didnโ€™t move an inch. I stood my ground, making it clear I wasnโ€™t about to dodge.

โ€œOut of the way, you dumb chick!โ€

That man shouted from a distance.

Through his scent, Hera had already picked up that he was a rogueโ€”a criminal. No wonder he was so aggressive and arrogant.

When he saw I wasnโ€™t budging, he clutched the handbag tighter and charged even faster, clearly planning to ram right through me.

The guy was nearly six and a half feet tall, all muscle and momentum. He could probably knock a bull over at full speed.

Nearby pedestriansโ€”whether high-ranking betas or low-level omegasโ€”were all giving me that are-you-crazy kind of look.

I ignored their judgment. And just as his body was about to collide with mine, I tapped into Heraโ€™s power surging inside meโ€”and kicked. One clean strike sent him flying.

He hit the pavement with a painful cry, skidding several feet before coming to a stop.

Realizing I wasnโ€™t someone to mess with, he started scrambling to his feet, ready to shift into wolf form and make a run for it.

Too late. I threw a needle with precisionโ€”straight into his neck. His body froze instantly, locked in place.

Moments later, the woman heโ€™d robbed caught up. The first thing she did was rush to retrieve the handbag from the ground.

She opened it, checked the contents, and after confirming everything was still there, turned to meโ€”her eyes shifting from relief to surprise.

I recognized her too. Melodyโ€”Trumanโ€™s mate.

โ€œThank you so much, Ms. Carson,โ€ she said sincerely. โ€œWhatโ€™s in here is really important to me.โ€

I didnโ€™t reply. Melody was Trumanโ€™s woman. If it mattered to her, then it definitely had something to do with him.

And sure enough, Hera picked up his scent a second later.

He hadnโ€™t shown up yet, but his voice came first.

โ€œDid you get it back?โ€

Then he pushed through the crowd and strolled over.

The moment I saw him, any trace of a good mood vanished. I stared at him, guarded.

โ€œMs. Carson,โ€ he said, not taking his eyes off me. โ€œWhat a coincidence.โ€

I scoffed. โ€œYour girl just got mugged, and instead of checking on her, youโ€™re out here flirting with other women? Real classy, Mr. White.โ€

Truman only smiled. โ€œWhy not? You helped Melody get her things back. Iโ€™m simply here to express our gratitude.โ€

โ€œYou really have a way with words,โ€ I said coldly, resisting the urge to roll my eyes.

Seriously, only he could make hitting on someone elseโ€™s mate sound so reasonable.

I glanced at Melody againโ€”she was beautiful, no doubt. Such a shame she ended up with him.

Was their bond some cruel joke from the Moon Goddess?

Maybe it was his good looks and silver tongue that clouded her judgment.

โ€œMs. Carson,โ€ Truman interrupted my thoughts, his voice dripping with fake sweetness, โ€œlast time things were rushed. Maybe thatโ€™s why you didnโ€™t enjoy yourself. Want to find a place and give our kissing skills another round?โ€

I narrowed my eyes, my voice icy. โ€œTry that again, and I swear, I might just cut something off.โ€

Then I turned to Melody, tone sharp with frustration. โ€œIf you donโ€™t want to see him torn apart by my wolf one day, keep him on a tighter leash.โ€

With that, I spun around and disappeared into the crowd, not giving them another glance.

Trumanโ€™s gaze lingered with a strange intensity as Hayley left.

Melody sighed and shook her head. โ€œHow long are you planning to keep up this game? Arenโ€™t you afraid sheโ€™ll find out who you really are and start hating you for real?โ€

โ€œShe wonโ€™t,โ€ Benjamin said, eyes lowering, voice quiet and distant. โ€œAs long as she still talks to me with that guarded but respectful tone, it means she hasnโ€™t suspected me yet. Thatโ€™s all I need. It wonโ€™t be long now.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s too deep for me,โ€ Melody muttered. โ€œI donโ€™t get it.โ€

โ€œThatโ€™s fine,โ€ Truman replied with a playful smirk. โ€œYouโ€™re not meant to. You donโ€™t have the same intelligence and emotion as a human and werewolf.โ€

He teased her on purpose. Melody just rolled her eyes and walked off, unfazed.

Benjamin gave one last glance in the direction Hayley had goneโ€”then followed after Melody.

Chapter 758 Cyclone Pack

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

Before the Rock Betting Auction officially began, Cyclone Pack had hosted a party. On the surface, it was to welcome guests from all over. In truth, it was a way for the big players in rock betting to size each other up.

Of course, I got an invitation too.

But I wasnโ€™t there to build connections or sniff out secrets. I just showed up for the vibe.

The auction always featured an overwhelming number of raw stones. But the top-tier ones? Those never left the hands of Cyclone Packโ€™s elite rock bettors.

At worst, the second-best pieces might fall to locals. Only the least valuable ones ever made it to outsiders.

Not because the pack was unfriendly, but because in this business, skill ruled everything.

Rock betting was in Cyclone Packโ€™s blood. Theyโ€™d spent generations honing their instincts. Naturally, outsiders didnโ€™t stand a chance.

The next night, I brought Humbert to the party.
