Alpha Hayleyโs Destined Mate
Chapter 717: Heโs Alive
Virginiaโs POV:
โVirginiaโฆโ Alan released me with a heavy sigh. โDonโt speak in anger.โ
โIโm not speaking in anger!โ I snapped, my eyes blazing in a fierce, wolfish red. He still stubbornly refused to believe me, choosing instead to trust Freya, that devil. I was profoundly disappointed.
โEver since that woman joined the Sanders, this whole family has never been at peace,โ I said. โSheโs a curse brought upon us. Why canโt you see that? Do you want Michelle to suffer as well?โ
Tears brimming in my eyes, I accused him. My gaze shifted past Alan to the elevator. Freya was there, sporting a crazed smile.
โSheโs laughing!โ I grabbed Alanโs arm urgently, trying to turn him around so he could see Freyaโs true face. Alan hesitated and resisted at first, but finally turned around. By then, Freya had already masked her expression with a concerned faรงade.
โMom and Dad, howโs Peter?โ Freya asked, feigning worry with furrowed brows.
โNo! Thatโs not it!โ I pointed at Freya, my voice rising in frustration. โI saw her! She was laughing, Alan!โ
โPeterโs dead, and this woman dares to laugh! Sheโs terrifying, Alan. We canโt let her stay with us anymore!โ
Freya sniffled, her expression pitiful, and accused, โMom, why do you still insist on framing me?โ
โIโm heartbroken over Peter too. Are you trying to make Dad lose me as well?!โ I looked at Alan, hoping heโd finally see Freya for who she was. He was smart, sharp, a man whose rank wasnโt beneath an Alpha. How could he be so consistently deceived by Freya?
โEnough!โ Alan pulled me aside, trying to reason with me. โVirginia, listen to me. Faye isnโt as bad as you thinkโฆโ
I couldnโt believe he was being so foolish. I was too disappointed to hear another word, focusing on Freya, watching her every move vigilantly. Sure enough, the moment Alan turned his back, Freyaโs expression shifted. Her face twisted into a triumphant, reckless grin. She smiled like a conqueror boasting over a vanquished foe. Watching her gloating face, I was certain โ Freya had a hand in Peterโs death. I clenched my teeth, steeling my resolve at that moment.
No matter the cost, I would never let Freya harm my family again! This would be the last time.
Hayleyโs POV:
After hours of grueling efforts and even tapping into Heraโs energy, I was utterly exhausted. The moment I opened the door, I nearly collapsed, but Benjaminโs quick reflexes caught me. Seeing the worry in his eyes, I gave him a reassuring look and weakly said, โGet the doctors back. Heโs alive. Quickly! Get the equipment!โ
โOn it!โ Henry reacted first, sprinting towards the front desk. โDoctor! Whereโs the doctor?!โ
Within moments, nurses and doctors flooded into the room. Benjamin helped me to a chair, and I sat, covertly watching Freya. The roomโs door was wide open, and Freya watched as the medical team worked on reviving a dead man, her eyes filled with disdain. But as the heart monitor began beeping again, growing stronger with each second, Freyaโs face grew tense. She clutched her shoulder strap tighter, her nails digging into her flesh.
Virginia, like me, caught every flicker of Freyaโs venomous gaze. We exchanged a look, and Virginia swiftly moved to block Freyaโs view.
โYou need to leave. Now!โ Virginia said coldly, her tone leaving no room for argument.
Freya glared at her before quickly shifting to a concerned demeanor and addressing Alan. โDad, if Mom doesnโt want me here, I donโt want to upset her.โ
โTake care, and let me know how Peter is doing,โ Alan said, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration, waving her away, muttering, โGo.โ
Freya, clearly annoyed that Alan didnโt even ask her to stay, turned and left in a huff. Watching her reactions, I was almost certain โ Freya was involved in Peterโs predicament.
Freya, for harming my family repeatedly, Iโll make sure you pay! If it werenโt the wrong moment, Iโd let Hera take over and tear that smug grin off your face!
Benjamin patted my shoulder, calming me slightly.
Just then, Henry burst out of the room, beaming, โHeโs live! Heโs alive!โ
