Alpha Hayleyโs Destined Mate
Chapter 698: Whatโs Happening?
Hayleyโs POV:
โHayley! Iโm your uncle! How can you treat me like this?โ Jeremy shouted, struggling against the enforcers.
Annoyed, I covered my ears and snapped, โYouโre too loud!โ
Seeing my expression, the Beta enforcers wasted no time tossing him out. I kept my gaze fixed on them.
Harris, lying near the doorway, swallowed hard when he saw Jeremy thrown out. With his injured leg, he dragged himself outside. Their house staff transformed into wolves and approached fearfully, carrying the two men away.
Henry watched with confusion. โArenโt they your family? Whatโs happening?โ
I didnโt answer. Instead, I turned and headed straight for Dominicโs room.
Inside, Dominic was busy at his computer. He let out a frustrated sigh when he noticed me. โI still canโt get in touch with Nocturne. I even tried using the mind-link, but nothing.โ
โYouโve managed SI for years. Donโt you have a direct way to contact your members outside of the internal system?โ I asked.
Dominic shrugged. โLike you said, I handle management, not software development.โ
โMaybe we could reach out to the mysterious hacker X, butโฆ well, that wonโt be cheap. SIโs budget is tight.โ
I stayed quiet for a moment before stepping forward and taking over the keyboard. Dominic watched as I started typing rapidly. โWhoa, your hands are a blur!โ
Ignoring him, I continued inputting code. Five minutes later, I hit the final key and exhaled.
โAlright, for the next ten minutes, youโll be the only one able to call Nocturne. Make it count.โ
โGot it!โ Dominic immediately pulled out his phone and dialed.
Northlipe.
According to the latest intel, Nocturne had reached the outskirts of Tomโs residence. Like a patient hunter, he wasnโt one to rush. Instead, he waited in ambush, ensuring the safe window had passed before making his move to avoid being sensed by the enemy.
He lay concealed in a newly dug hole, camouflaged with grass mats and mud, leaving just a small opening to watch through his telescope. At that moment, he was positioned behind the scope, studying the renowned physicist couple with keen focus. They fit the image of high-ranking Beta intellectualsโmodest attire, glasses, and neatly styled hair that reflected restraint. Yet, despite their composed appearance, an undeniable strength radiated from within them.
The waiting period was over. Tonight, he would make his move and take them. If he hesitated, someone else who had caught wind of their location would act first.
Just then, his phone buzzed violently.
