Alpha Hayleyโ€™s Destined Mate

Chapter 649: His Embrace

Hayleyโ€™s POV:

As I inhaled his scent, I couldnโ€™t help but swallow. Damn it! Heraโ€™s instincts to mate with him had stirred again! Just as I was about to speak, his deep, sultry voice echoed above me.

โ€œYes, Iโ€™m jealous of everyone around you. I wish you were mine alone.โ€

A warm sensation wrapped around my heart, melting me completely. I couldnโ€™t resist his embrace nor say anything passionate in response. All I could do was let him hold me, obediently listening to his heartbeat.

It was a long while before we finally returned to the front hall. As soon as I entered, I turned to Marie. โ€œPrepare dinner for five tonight.โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re expecting guests?โ€ Benjamin asked.

โ€œMm, something like that,โ€ I brushed him off casually. โ€œJust do as I said, Marie.โ€

โ€œUnderstood, Ms. Carson.โ€ Marie nodded respectfully before heading to the kitchen.

Two hours later, Peter reappeared before us, looking completely rejuvenated. โ€œI feel like I can take on ten stray wolves alone!โ€ Peter flexed his muscles, cracking his knuckles with a look of eagerness as if he were ready to start a fight.

Virginia stood up, her wolf-like eyes narrowing as she prepared to teach him a lesson. She smacked him on the back in frustration. โ€œTake on ten wolves, huh? Take on ten wolves?!โ€

โ€œYou think you can go out there, get yourself beaten half to death again, and then let Hayley heal you? Do you want to wear her out?!โ€

โ€œMom! Go easy on me! Stop hitting me!โ€ Peter dodged nimbly, trying to escape.

But Virginia wasnโ€™t letting him off easily, chasing after him relentlessly. Left with no choice, he surrendered. โ€œAlright, alright! I was wrong! I swear I wonโ€™t drag Hayley into my mess again. Happy now?โ€

โ€œHmph, thatโ€™s more like it!โ€ Virginia finally let him go. After getting scolded, Peter finally quieted down.

Soon, it was time for dinner. Peter was so hungry that he completely ignored table manners, focusing solely on devouring his food instead of engaging in conversation.

โ€œMy dear son, where are your dining manners? Have you forgotten them all?!โ€ Virginia scolded Peter, who was only focused on eating when she finished chatting with my grandparents.

Peter offered an awkward smile. โ€œSorry, I was just really hungry today.โ€

โ€œHahaha, itโ€™s fine, itโ€™s fine,โ€ Bill said with a kind smile.

โ€œNo need.โ€ Peter put down his knife and fork, regaining the same elegance and poise as Benjamin.

But I raised an eyebrow at Peter. โ€œEat up. You burned a lot of energy during my treatment todayโ€”you need to replenish your nutrients.โ€

โ€œIn a few days, once youโ€™ve fully recovered, you can let your wolf out and resume your combat training. Gradually, your strength will multiply, and youโ€™ll be able to defeat Harlan easily.โ€

Excitement flashed across Peterโ€™s face. โ€œReally?โ€

I nodded. He fell silent for a moment before muttering bitterly, โ€œHarlan isnโ€™t even worth a damn compared to your people. Beating him isnโ€™t something to be proud of.โ€

I chuckled. โ€œSince you know Iโ€™m surrounded by strong individuals, youโ€™d better work on strengthening yourself. I wonโ€™t always be around to protect you.โ€

Peterโ€™s expression turned serious, and he nodded solemnly. After finishing dessert, we were about to leave the dining room when Peter suddenly called out to Benjamin with a playful grin.

โ€œHow about a sparring match with my wolf?โ€

Benjamin turned to me, silently asking for my opinion. I scoffed at Peter, unimpressed. โ€œYou wouldnโ€™t stand a chance against Benjamin. Heโ€™s an alpha. Donโ€™t embarrass yourself.โ€

Peter let out a dejected sigh, then dragged Virginia outside for a walk. Night fell. I heard distinct movements coming from Benjaminโ€™s courtyard close to midnight. This time, I went over directly.
