Chapter 806

Teresa took out her phone and dialed Jonathanโ€™s number.

Jonathan answered the call, โ€œHello?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s me. I want to get discharged,โ€ Teresa said, getting straight to the point.

Jonathan was silent for a few seconds. โ€œWhy do you want to be discharged?โ€

Teresa said, โ€œIโ€™ve been in the hospital for several days already. Iโ€™m fine now. The doctor said I just need to rest at home.โ€

โ€œWait for me to get back from Jarisburg, and Iโ€™ll pick you up,โ€ Jonathan said.

โ€œNo need. Iโ€™m leaving the hospital today. Donโ€™t worry. Iโ€™ll take care of the baby,โ€ Teresa insisted.

Jonathan noticed the urgency in Teresaโ€™s voice. โ€œWhy are you in such a hurry to leave the hospital? Is there something you need to do?โ€ he asked.

โ€œIโ€™m going to pick up Mike. You sent him to the Lynn residence, right?โ€ Teresa replied.

Jonathan explained patiently, โ€œGrandpa called me many times, insisting that Mike come over for a meal. I kept telling him Mike was still in Jarisburg and couldnโ€™t make it back."

"Since heโ€™s back today, I figured Iโ€™d let him see Mike once. Donโ€™t worry, Iโ€™ll send Mike back to you soon.โ€

Worried that Teresa might still be uneasy, he added, โ€œRelax, I got it. Thereโ€™s no way our son will go missing.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s not about whether heโ€™ll go missing or not!โ€ Teresa snapped.

Jonathan fell silent.

Teresa continued, โ€œWhen you sent Mike to your home, couldnโ€™t you have discussed it with me first? You clearly said Benny would bring him to me, but then you had Benny take him to the Lynn residence instead. I waited at the hospital all day.โ€

Jonathan replied, โ€œI didnโ€™t say Benny would bring him to you. I said Benny would take him back to Nareigh. I thought it would be good for Mike to stop by the Lynn residence first."

โ€œGrandpa has been in a bad mood since he found out about Donaldโ€™s divorce, and seeing Mike might cheer him up. I planned to send Mike back to you tonight.โ€

He went through the whole explanation all over again. If it were anyone else, he wouldnโ€™t even waste more than ten words on them.

โ€œI see,โ€ Teresa said. โ€œI hope next time youโ€™ll let me know in advance if something like this happens.โ€

Jonathan took a deep breath. He thought, โ€˜Iโ€™m Mikeโ€™s dad. Canโ€™t I even make a call about my own kid? Iโ€™ve been running around Jarisburg dealing with her familyโ€™s mess, and now sheโ€™s mad at me over something this small?

โ€˜Seriously, what does she think Iโ€™m gonna do to our kid?โ€˜ I already told her Iโ€™m not trying to take him away, so whatโ€™s she still so on guard for? Whatโ€™s she so scared of?โ€˜

โ€œMr. Lynn,โ€ a bodyguardโ€™s voice came through the phone. โ€œShould we let Ms. Johnston leave the hospital?โ€

โ€œLet her be discharged, and give her back her phone. Who allowed you to take her phone?โ€ Jonathan said sharply.

โ€œOkay.โ€ The bodyguard handed the phone back to Teresa, looking a bit aggrieved.

Jonathan then said to Teresa, โ€œAlright, you can leave the hospital. Have the chauffeur take you home. Take care of yourself, alright? And remember what you promised. Donโ€™t upset yourself and risk the baby.โ€

โ€œI know.โ€ Teresa hung up.

Meanwhile, at the Lynn residence. Hayden was indeed in a bad mood. After all, Donald and Jennifer got divorced.

Hayden asked Werner, โ€œAre all the men in our family just failures?โ€

Werner felt incredibly awkward. He said, โ€œDad, why would you say so?โ€

โ€œWhy is it that none of the men in our family can have a successful marriage? Jonathanโ€™s divorced, and now Donaldโ€™s divorced, too. Alas. Maybe thereโ€™s something wrong with the way we raised them,โ€ Hayden said with a sigh.

Werner tried to comfort him, โ€œThese days, divorce happens all the time with young people. Itโ€™s nothing unusual.โ€
