Chapter 471
Orion furrowed his brow and glanced at the assistant beside him. Lemira turned her head slightly. โDid I just hear someone call your name?โ
โYou must have heard wrong.โ
Orion shifted, blocking Lemiraโs view. On the other side, Sophia was surrounded by a few bodyguards and taken away. Soon, the helicopter took off and left. Sophia could only watch helplessly as Orion left with that girl, nearly bursting into tears.
She had just seen Orion being so gentle with that girl. Sophia had never seen this tender side of Orion before, and she couldnโt suppress the jealousy rising in her heart. After all, her lifelong dream was to marry Orion, become his wife, and have a couple of kids with him. But now, this dream seemed shattered by the sudden appearance of this woman. She was determined not to let Orion go to anyone.
Sophiaโs assistant approached her. โMs. Lemira, I managed to snap a picture of that girl, though itโs not very clear.โ
Sophia glanced at the photo and immediately recognized who the girl was. She had seen her before in the hospital but had believed Thaddeusโs denials. Damn, she had been fooled.
Sophia fumed, โFind out everything about this girl, by any means necessary.โ
โNo need for that,โ the assistant interjected. โThis girl is Lemira. Sheโs the one who was involved in that incident with your sister, Susanna, at school. Itโs been all over the internet recently.โ
โSo, itโs her.โ
A sly smile crossed Sophiaโs face; things were falling into place easier than she thought. If Mrs. Amanda knew what this girl was really like, sheโd surely oppose her.
She pulled out her phone and dialed Mrs. Amanda. โMrs. Amanda, are you free for a coffee this afternoon? Thereโs something Iโve been thinking about a lot and feel I should discuss with you.โ
She had to let Mrs. Amanda and Mrs. Eileen know what kind of person this girl truly was. Only she was the right match for Orion.
Lemira and Orion took the helicopter to a secluded but beautiful restaurant. The place was beautifully decorated, perfect for a date.
But Lemira, lowering her voice, commented, โThis place doesnโt seem very busy. There are hardly any customers.โ
โProbably because itโs out of the way.โ
Orion didnโt mention he had booked the entire venue.
After finishing their meal in silence, Lemiraโs table etiquette had improved significantly, feeling the weight of maintaining an image. Orion offered her a napkin. โFancy a walk?โ
โSure.โ
As they walked side by side, their hands unintentionally touched, causing her heartbeat to accelerate. The next second, he took her hand in his. Seeing their shadows together under the moonlight, hand in hand, added a layer of intimacy to the moment.
They continued walking in silence until Orion stopped and looked down at her. โBored?โ
โNot really. I just think the scenery would be prettier during the day.โ
โThey say itโs more romantic at night.โ
As he finished speaking, fireworks suddenly lit up the sky, illuminating the night. Lemira looked up at the fireworks, but Orionโs gaze was fixed on her. โDo you like it?โ
โIโve seen beautiful fireworks before, but this feels different, probably because of who Iโm with.โ
Lemira turned to look at him, fireworks bursting behind him, highlighting his handsome features in a way that was hard to look away from. Was it his looks that caught her eye at first?
Orion, a bit nervous, said, โLemira, Iโm not as great as you might think. I can hesitate and back down, but seeing you hurt, I swore Iโd never let anything like that happen to you again. Soโฆโ
โSo what?โ
โSo, would you be my girlfriend? Let me take care of you from now on, okay?โ
