Chapter 424
โItโs fine. How was practice this afternoon?โ
โWell, we were supposed to train, but the production team needed us for filming, teaching us all how to coordinate our scenes, so no training today.โ
Lemiraโs mood visibly cooled. Caspian was definitely doing this on purpose. He knew the team had big plans for next yearโs competitions, and everyone was squeezing practice into their already tight schedules. Their practice time was precious as it was.
Just then, Caspian strolled in: โEveryone ready? Just do what we went over earlier.โ
Lemira, with a stern face, looked at Caspian: โWhen will we wrap up?โ
โThat depends on how well everyone works together, and the actorsโ performance.โ
Caspian appeared unfazed, as if the earlier discussion hadnโt happened: โIf your performance is lacking, it might take longer. We might even have to continue tomorrow.โ
Lemira felt irritated: โI recall there are only two scenes, one here and another outdoors.โ
โCorrect. You might want to go over your lines now. Weโll start with the leadsโ scenes.โ
Lemira went back to her office to fetch the script. Having written scripts before, diving into this one wasnโt too hard for her. When she returned to the lobby, Caspian said, โWeโre starting. You ready?โ
โYeah.โ
Lemira took her place. Her role was simple, playing the team captain but as an antagonist who looks down on the female lead, only to be proven wrong in the end. Her character was to duel with Evelinaโs in-game character. But during their duel, Evelinaโs character quickly met her demise.
Evelina, looking forlorn, said, โLemmy, itโs just a scene. You gotta pull your punches a bit, or how are we going to film this?โ
Caspian calmly intervened: โLetโs take it from the top.โ
Evelinaโs eyes gleamed with a hint of triumph, finally besting Lemira, at least once.
Regardless, the victor was her. Lemira, albeit reluctantly, had to go easy, yet Evelinaโs character still lost.
Lemira, growing impatient, retorted, โHow foolish are you? How can you lose like that? How did you ever compete before?โ
Evelinaโs eyes welled up: โIt wasnโt on purpose.โ
Caspian approached: โLemira, if youโre not willing to lose to Eve, we canโt shoot today. Weโll have to wait till tomorrow.โ
โNo, weโll do it today.โ
Lemira didnโt want to waste any more time.
But Caspian shook his head: โLetโs all take a short break. Iโll talk to her about the scene. After all, my sister is new to this, letโs be a bit more understanding.โ
No one else had anything to add. Caspian took Lemira upstairs to the office.
But Lemira was furious: โItโs clear Evelinaโs just not up to par. If I make it too obvious Iโm going easy, itโll be clear to everyone. Theyโll think thatโs the level of the Orvin University Team.โ
This was supposed to be a coming-of-age drama that also promoted the Orvin University Team.
โI know, itโs Evelina whoโs falling short, not you.โ
Caspianโs tone was light; he even grabbed a glass of water to drink.
Lemira eyed him: โSo, youโre intentionally wasting our time?โ
โExactly.โ
Caspianโs smirk carried a hint of malice, aware of Lemiraโs eagerness to get the team ready for next yearโs competitions.
Lemira snatched the glass from his hand and tossed it into the trash. Her voice was cold: โWhat are you really after?โ
Caspian didnโt get upset; instead, he casually picked up a napkin from the table and wiped his shirt. He said calmly: โIโm teaching you a lesson. This is what happens when you donโt listen to my advice!โ
