Chapter 424

โ€œItโ€™s fine. How was practice this afternoon?โ€

โ€œWell, we were supposed to train, but the production team needed us for filming, teaching us all how to coordinate our scenes, so no training today.โ€

Lemiraโ€™s mood visibly cooled. Caspian was definitely doing this on purpose. He knew the team had big plans for next yearโ€™s competitions, and everyone was squeezing practice into their already tight schedules. Their practice time was precious as it was.

Just then, Caspian strolled in: โ€œEveryone ready? Just do what we went over earlier.โ€

Lemira, with a stern face, looked at Caspian: โ€œWhen will we wrap up?โ€

โ€œThat depends on how well everyone works together, and the actorsโ€™ performance.โ€

Caspian appeared unfazed, as if the earlier discussion hadnโ€™t happened: โ€œIf your performance is lacking, it might take longer. We might even have to continue tomorrow.โ€

Lemira felt irritated: โ€œI recall there are only two scenes, one here and another outdoors.โ€

โ€œCorrect. You might want to go over your lines now. Weโ€™ll start with the leadsโ€™ scenes.โ€

Lemira went back to her office to fetch the script. Having written scripts before, diving into this one wasnโ€™t too hard for her. When she returned to the lobby, Caspian said, โ€œWeโ€™re starting. You ready?โ€

โ€œYeah.โ€

Lemira took her place. Her role was simple, playing the team captain but as an antagonist who looks down on the female lead, only to be proven wrong in the end. Her character was to duel with Evelinaโ€™s in-game character. But during their duel, Evelinaโ€™s character quickly met her demise.

Evelina, looking forlorn, said, โ€œLemmy, itโ€™s just a scene. You gotta pull your punches a bit, or how are we going to film this?โ€

Caspian calmly intervened: โ€œLetโ€™s take it from the top.โ€

Evelinaโ€™s eyes gleamed with a hint of triumph, finally besting Lemira, at least once.

Regardless, the victor was her. Lemira, albeit reluctantly, had to go easy, yet Evelinaโ€™s character still lost.

Lemira, growing impatient, retorted, โ€œHow foolish are you? How can you lose like that? How did you ever compete before?โ€

Evelinaโ€™s eyes welled up: โ€œIt wasnโ€™t on purpose.โ€

Caspian approached: โ€œLemira, if youโ€™re not willing to lose to Eve, we canโ€™t shoot today. Weโ€™ll have to wait till tomorrow.โ€

โ€œNo, weโ€™ll do it today.โ€

Lemira didnโ€™t want to waste any more time.

But Caspian shook his head: โ€œLetโ€™s all take a short break. Iโ€™ll talk to her about the scene. After all, my sister is new to this, letโ€™s be a bit more understanding.โ€

No one else had anything to add. Caspian took Lemira upstairs to the office.

But Lemira was furious: โ€œItโ€™s clear Evelinaโ€™s just not up to par. If I make it too obvious Iโ€™m going easy, itโ€™ll be clear to everyone. Theyโ€™ll think thatโ€™s the level of the Orvin University Team.โ€

This was supposed to be a coming-of-age drama that also promoted the Orvin University Team.

โ€œI know, itโ€™s Evelina whoโ€™s falling short, not you.โ€

Caspianโ€™s tone was light; he even grabbed a glass of water to drink.

Lemira eyed him: โ€œSo, youโ€™re intentionally wasting our time?โ€

โ€œExactly.โ€

Caspianโ€™s smirk carried a hint of malice, aware of Lemiraโ€™s eagerness to get the team ready for next yearโ€™s competitions.

Lemira snatched the glass from his hand and tossed it into the trash. Her voice was cold: โ€œWhat are you really after?โ€

Caspian didnโ€™t get upset; instead, he casually picked up a napkin from the table and wiped his shirt. He said calmly: โ€œIโ€™m teaching you a lesson. This is what happens when you donโ€™t listen to my advice!โ€
