Chapter 414

A perfect deal with multiple benefits. But Caspian claimed he was there to make amends, saying that in her past life, she had failed to see his true colors. She thought her relationship with Caspian was the strongest, but when she threatened to reveal that the script wasnโ€™t actually written by Evelina, endangering Caspianโ€™s interests, he coldly cast her aside without a second thought. Caspian had always been adept at winning people over with such tactics.

Lemira saw a message from Matthew from the day before. He said he had something important to discuss. But after everything that happened last night, she had completely forgotten about it. Now, Lemira was somewhat curious about what Matthew wanted to say.

She noticed that Matthew had called her, but the call was picked up by Orion, judging by the call duration. Lemira texted Orion: [Do you think Matthew has a girlfriend?] Upon reading this, Orion immediately felt a sense of urgency. Frowning, he replied, [Not that I know of. Why do you ask?]

[Does he have someone he fancies then?] Reading this, Orion sat up straight. He called Lemira, and she answered instantly. Lemira was surprised heโ€™d actually call. Could there be something going on with Matthew?

It took Orion a moment before he spoke: โ€œWhy are you asking all these questions about Matthewโ€™s love life?โ€ His voice was heavier, his jaw tenser. Lemira hesitated: โ€œJust curious, thatโ€™s all.โ€ Maybe she was overthinking things. The important thing Matthew wanted to discuss could very well be something else.

Orionโ€™s gaze narrowed, โ€œThere must be a reason. You donโ€™t just ask these questions out of nowhere.โ€ Lemira thought for a moment before saying, โ€œYou picked up Matthewโ€™s call last night, right?โ€

โ€œYeah.โ€

โ€œWhat did he say?โ€

Orionโ€™s lips tightened: โ€œNothing much.โ€

โ€œReally?โ€

โ€œWhat do you think he would say?โ€

Lemira paused before responding, โ€œIf I knew, why would I be asking you?โ€

After a brief silence, Orion finally suggested, โ€œIf itโ€™s nothing, you should get some rest early.โ€

โ€œOkay, goodbye.โ€

After hanging up, Lemira decided she needed to hit the gym and get some boxing practice in. If she were stronger, she could have better defended herself against last nightโ€™s ordeal and not felt so helpless.

Chapter 414

Soon, Lemira received several calls from sponsors interested in supporting the team base. She knew this was all because of Caspianโ€™s interview video going viral; now everyone at school knew she was the big starโ€™s sister. The current situation felt as distasteful as eating a burnt pie. Caspian had done it on purpose. Looking at the recent expenditures of the team base, they were running low on funds and desperately needed sponsorship.

Then, Orionโ€™s call came through, his voice deep: โ€œRunning low on cash?โ€

โ€œItโ€™s not me; itโ€™s the team. Iโ€™ve had a falling out with Susanna, and the Sinclair family has cut off their sponsorship. Theyโ€™ve even asked other companies to stop cooperating with us.โ€

โ€œThe Maple Group could offer sponsorship. Why not just ask?โ€

Lemira hesitated: โ€œI wanted to see if we could secure sponsorship without relying on connections.โ€

โ€œBusiness is all about leveraging connections; donโ€™t be too idealistic.โ€

Lemira laughed, โ€œThen thank you for the sponsorship, boss.โ€

After hanging up, Lemira had only walked a short distance from her dorm when suddenly, someone sprayed white confetti at her, shouting, โ€œLemira, you have to drop the lawsuit, let him go!โ€ Shielding herself, Lemira saw they were holding support banners for Alaric, clearly his fans. She snatched the banners from their hands.

At that moment, Caspian rushed out, standing protectively in front of Lemira. โ€œEveryone, listen to me. The situation with Alaric is still under investigation and has nothing to do with my sister.โ€

โ€œBut we heard it was Lemira who filed the lawsuit. How could a sister be so cruel as to send her own brother to jail?โ€

โ€œYouโ€™re mistaken. My sister wouldnโ€™t file a lawsuit; sheโ€™s not that kind of person.โ€

Caspian smiled reassuringly at Lemira, โ€œRight?โ€
