It took Orion a moment before he spoke: “Why are you asking all these questions about Matthew’s love life?” His voice was heavier, his jaw tenser. Lemira hesitated: “Just curious, that’s all.” Maybe she was overthinking things. The important thing Matthew wanted to discuss could very well be something else.

Orion’s gaze narrowed, “There must be a reason. You don’t just ask these questions out of nowhere.” Lemira thought for a moment before saying, “You picked up Matthew’s call last night, right?”

“Yeah.”

“What did he say?”

Orion’s lips tightened: “Nothing much.”

“Really?”

“What do you think he would say?”

Lemira paused before responding, “If I knew, why would I be asking you?”

After a brief silence, Orion finally suggested, “If it’s nothing, you should get some rest early.”

“Okay, goodbye.”

After hanging up, Lemira decided she needed to hit the gym and get some boxing practice in. If she were stronger, she could have better defended herself against last night’s ordeal and not felt so helpless.

Soon, Lemira received several calls from sponsors interested in supporting the team base. She knew this was all because of Caspian’s interview video going viral; now everyone at school knew she was the big star’s sister. The current situation felt as distasteful as eating a burnt pie. Caspian had done it on purpose. Looking at the recent expenditures of the team base, they were running low on funds and desperately needed sponsorship.

Then, Orion’s call came through, his voice deep: “Running low on cash?”

“It’s not me; it’s the team. I’ve had a falling out with Susanna, and the Sinclair family has cut off their sponsorship. They’ve even asked other companies to stop cooperating with us.”

“The Maple Group could offer sponsorship. Why not just ask?”

Lemira hesitated: “I wanted to see if we could secure sponsorship without relying on connections.”

“Business is all about leveraging connections; don’t be too idealistic.”

Lemira laughed, “Then thank you for the sponsorship, boss.”

After hanging up, Lemira had only walked a short distance from her dorm when suddenly, someone sprayed white confetti at her, shouting, “Lemira, you have to drop the lawsuit, let him go!” Shielding herself, Lemira saw they were holding support banners for Alaric, clearly his fans. She snatched the banners from their hands.

At that moment, Caspian rushed out, standing protectively in front of Lemira. “Everyone, listen to me. The situation with Alaric is still under investigation and has nothing to do with my sister.”

“But we heard it was Lemira who filed the lawsuit. How could a sister be so cruel as to send her own brother to jail?”

“You’re mistaken. My sister wouldn’t file a lawsuit; she’s not that kind of person.”

Caspian smiled reassuringly at Lemira, “Right?”
