Chapter 395

Mrs. Eileen truly didn't see it coming; her gaze complex as she looked at Orion. It took her a long while to speak up: โ€œYou know itโ€™s impossible between you two, with that car accident and allโ€ฆโ€ No one could forget the death of their parents.

Orion was crouching in front of the elderly woman, bending his straight back. The old lady spoke up: โ€œYour guiltโ€ฆ you can make it up to her; thatโ€™s the best choice for both of you.โ€ He was bowing down, speaking in a low voice: โ€œI know.โ€ But he couldnโ€™t control it. At first, it was compassion, and then, it was love.

The old lady sighed: โ€œSeems like she must be a good girl, to have moved your heart, hasnโ€™t she?โ€ โ€œGrandma, you donโ€™t know how tough these years have been for her; even her brother has been neglecting and suppressing her.โ€

Orion paused for a long moment: โ€œI thought I was rational enough.โ€ โ€œRationality can prevent one from entering a relationship, but it canโ€™t stop one from developing feelings.โ€ Mrs. Eileen knew her grandson; if he wasnโ€™t truly moved, he wouldnโ€™t have opened up to her. The old lady perceptively caught on to his thoughts.

She spoke: โ€œOrion, are you telling me all this because you want to be with her?โ€ โ€œYes.โ€ Orion had made up his mind last night; he truly had feelings for Lemira. The person he liked, he was determined to fight for. That was also the reason he came back.

Mrs. Eileen playfully hit him: โ€œYou little rascal, trying to sweet-talk your grandma, huh?โ€ โ€œGrandma, I donโ€™t need you to do anything, but I do need your support.โ€ Mrs. Eileen pondered for a moment before speaking: โ€œAt the end of the day, the accident wasnโ€™t your fault; it was a tragedy. But itโ€™s unfortunate for that girl. I just donโ€™t get it; the accident wasnโ€™t that severe, how did it suddenly explode?โ€ If only that girlโ€™s parents hadnโ€™t died.

Orionโ€™s voice was hoarse: โ€œI havenโ€™t dared to tell her anything yet.โ€ He didnโ€™t know if he was worthy; he hesitated and struggled for a long time. โ€œGo for it if you like her, let her see your sincerity, but you need to find the right moment to reveal your identity and the truth about the past.โ€

Orion nodded: โ€œI understand. Will you accept her then?โ€ โ€œI donโ€™t approve of you two being together.โ€ Orion didnโ€™t speak. The old lady saw through his determination: โ€œWhat you should worry about is not whether I accept her, but whether she will accept you after knowing everything.โ€

โ€œIโ€™ll find a way.โ€ โ€œItโ€™s best to let go sooner; itโ€™s better for both of you. There are so many girls out there, why insist on her?โ€ Mrs. Eileen understood her grandson well, fearing that in the end, both would be hurt. Orion remained silent, diligently pruning the flower branches for the old lady. There are many girls in the world, but thereโ€™s only one Lemira.

He turned and walked into Matthewโ€™s room. Matthew, startled, scrambled to hide something, but relaxed upon seeing Orion: โ€œDude, itโ€™s you. Why didnโ€™t you knock? I have my privacy, you know.โ€ โ€œPorno mags? Whatโ€™s there to hide?โ€ Orion glanced and immediately knew what Matthew was hiding. He pulled up a chair to sit down: โ€œWhat time are we heading out tonight?โ€

Matthewโ€™s interest was piqued instantly: โ€œYouโ€™re coming too?โ€ Orionโ€™s gaze was serious as he looked at him: โ€œThereโ€™s something you need to do. Remember to protect her at the party, donโ€™t let anyone bully her, got it?โ€ โ€œGot it, no need for you to say it! Iโ€™ll protect her!โ€ Matthew thumped his chest proudly, then lowered his voice: โ€œDude, she hasnโ€™t made any weird requests, right? Like asking me to drop out of the race or something?โ€ Orion smacked Matthew on the head: โ€œSheโ€™s not that kind of person.โ€
