Chapter 341

Lemira's expression was eerily calm, sending shivers down Evelina's spine. This was unsettlingly out of character. After all, Lemira was never one to play by the rules. That witch definitely had something up her sleeve.

Asher, on the other hand, seemed somewhat pleased. โ€œItโ€™s good youโ€™ve come to your senses now. Donโ€™t get cocky just because you won once. If you want to make it in Orvin, youโ€™ll ultimately need the support of us, the Langston family.โ€

Lemira let out a scoff. โ€œRely on the Langston family, for what? To starve? Your team competitions are a flop, and your AI projects tanked.โ€

Asherโ€™s face soured. โ€œDidnโ€™t Lucian say heโ€™d hand over the company to you? Once you get back, quit your job at Maple Group, and tell the director it was their scheme that got the Langston Group disqualified from the bidding!โ€

โ€œMr. Asher, did you forget to brush your teeth this morning? Because youโ€™re talking big!โ€

Lemiraโ€™s eyes twinkled with mockery. Seeing Lemiraโ€™s expression, Asher was puzzled. โ€œWhatโ€™s that supposed to mean? I arranged all this for your benefit. Once you get Lucianโ€™s company, working for the Langston family is what you should be doing. Not working with outsiders, let alone competing against our own company! Now, call the director and clarify things, then have the lawyer drop the lawsuit!โ€

Lemira laughed. โ€œWho said I was dropping the lawsuit?โ€

Asher was taken aback, then angered. โ€œAre you playing games with me? You agreed just now, didnโ€™t you?โ€

โ€œDid I? Donโ€™t flatter yourself.โ€

โ€œSo, when you said my words made sense, wasnโ€™t that an acknowledgment?โ€

Lemira replied casually. โ€œAh, right, I did say that. You want me to drop the lawsuit, which is impossible. But, I might consider suing just one person.โ€

Asher eyed her warily. โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€

โ€œExactly what I said. Evelina or Alaric, pick one. Iโ€™ll only sue one, and the other gets off scot-free.โ€

The smile on Lemiraโ€™s face widened. โ€œDecide amongst yourselves before the court date. Who will step up and take the fall, go to jail?โ€

โ€œLemira, have you lost your mind?โ€

Hearing Lemiraโ€™s words, Evelinaโ€™s face turned ashen. She knew this witch wouldnโ€™t just comply so easily. Forcing them to choose! Such a vile choice! Lemira was clearly trying to drive a wedge between her and Alaric!

Lemira tutted. โ€œWell, Iโ€™m doing you a favor, really. One person in jail is better than two. Iโ€™m only offering this out of family loyalty. If you donโ€™t agree, then go as a team. It might be nice for you siblings to look after each other in there.โ€

After dropping her bombshell, Lemira turned and walked towards the stadium. Asher was furious. โ€œLemira, hold up! How can you come up with such a malicious plan!โ€

Choosing between siblings was like forcing them to turn on each other! Who would willingly go to jail? Lemira, of course, didnโ€™t look back, her smirk evident. Since they were such a close-knit family, they should indeed make a careful choice.

Upon entering the bustling venue, Lemira sat down and glanced at Janice. โ€œDo you think my plan is too cruel?โ€

โ€œNot at all, I think itโ€™s brilliant! Itโ€™s high time to strip off their hypocritical facade of kinship and confront their deceitful hearts. Only when the fire burns their own feet will they know pain.โ€

Janice, who had overheard everything, was initially on the verge of speaking out herself.
