Upon hearing that, Henderson was dumbfounded. The tables seemed to have turned. He had intended to recruit Kyle to his side, but before he could even speak, Kyle offered him a job instead.
He felt exasperated and slightly amused. "You're quite the comedian, Mr. Archer," he said. "Forces with outsiders? What a ridiculous proposition!"
Kyle's eyes narrowed dangerously. "Do I look like someone who's in the mood to joke around with you?" he said chillingly. "You're only here because of Mr. Khan Senior. Without him, do you think you'd even get through that door? You can fool others with your family status, but not me. I see right through your charade."
Henderson was momentarily stunned, his eyes flickering with shock and confusion. He'd never expected such audaciousness. It seemed the Khan family name meant nothing to Kyle.
"You're pushing your luck, Kyle Archer!" Henderson growled. "I'm open to negotiation, but don't overstep your bounds. There are consequences for being too greedy! You know what the Khan family is capable of. If we choose to go after you, no one will protect you. Your little underhanded tactics won't even be worth mentioning."
The negotiation had clearly failed, and Henderson had lost interest in civility. He resorted to veiled threats. The Khan family held immense power and influence in Rhineland, capable of disposing of anyone who crossed them. However, Henderson wondered if he could do the same to Kyle.
Kyle smirked. "You're losing your composure quickly. Your temper isn't so great after all. I think you should worry more about getting out of here. If I decide not to let you leave today, do you think you'll even make it out alive?"
Henderson's eyes widened. Having seen Kyle's capabilities, a chill ran down his spine. All the bodyguards, having witnessed Kyle's abilities firsthand, trembled involuntarily.
"If I don't show you what I'm capable of, you'll just keep coming back for more," Kyle said, his gaze settling on Justin. "You're quite loyal to him. Why don't you take a hit for your boss?"
The other bodyguards sighed in relief, but Justin trembled uncontrollably, helplessly shaking his head. He'd been drugged twice by Kyle, while the others only once.
Henderson knew Kyle was trying to intimidate him. Seeing Justin's fear, he scowled and bellowed, "What are you so afraid of?"
Justin desperately shook his head, his face contorted in despair as he took a step back. Henderson realized that if Kyle would do this to Justin, he wouldn't hesitate to do the same to him. If he continued to be aggressive, Kyle would likely target him next.
Considering Justin's experience and Kyle's tactics, Henderson chose his words carefully. "I think it's best to approach this calmly, Mr. Archer. I'm here to negotiate in good faith, and I honestly hold you in high regard. We can discuss financial terms at our leisure; there's something more pressing I'd like to talk about first. I, Henderson Khan, am from the Khan family. Although I may not possess extraordinary abilities, I assure you I'm not one to be underestimated. If you agree to work for me, you'll be well compensated and have the opportunity to achieve unparalleled success."
Kyle scrutinized Henderson with a peculiar expression. Henderson's heart sank; it was as if Kyle was saying he didn't deserve such an honor.
Kyle shook his head and laughed incredulously. "You want me to work for you? Very well. If you can defeat me, I'll agree to work for you."
Henderson's combat skills were good, but his bodyguards had all fallen to Kyle's tactics. They didn't dare look at Kyle, let alone attack him.
"You think you can't pull it off? I'll make it easier," Kyle said, remaining seated. "If you can walk out that door, I'll agree to work under you. How does that sound?" His expression turned grim. "You're pushing your luck! Are you telling me you can't even handle something so simple?"
