Chapter 762: Sometimes I Really Hate You

Alpha: โ€œโ€ฆโ€ What about Elvis? Elvis, hurry up! Bring your wife back! A click. The door opened. Mrs. Samantha entered, asking, โ€œAlpha, what are you doing here so late?โ€ Seeing Mrs. Samantha, Alphaโ€™s face softened. He said, โ€œMom.โ€ Olive quickly approached Mrs. Samantha, obediently calling, โ€œGrandma.โ€

โ€œOlive, are you alright? Why is your face so pale?โ€ Mrs. Samantha lovingly caressed Oliveโ€™s face. โ€œDid someone bully you? Tell me, Iโ€™ll get justice for you!โ€

โ€œGrandma, no one bullied me,โ€ Olive said, glancing at Alpha. Alpha was speechless: โ€œโ€ฆโ€ She denied being bullied but her gaze was honest. Mrs. Samanthaโ€™s eyes instantly fixed on Alpha. She exclaimed, โ€œOh my god, youโ€™re still bullying your daughter-in-law at your age? Shameless! Olive, letโ€™s go. You were scared, werenโ€™t you?โ€ Mrs. Samantha took Oliveโ€™s hand and left. Olive obediently followed, patting her heart and saying pitifully, โ€œGrandma, Iโ€™m scared to death.โ€

Alpha: โ€œโ€ฆโ€ He felt like he was about to vomit blood. After Mrs. Samantha and Olive left, Reuben summoned the doctor, leaving Alpha and Anabelle alone.

Anabelle looked at Alpha and said, โ€œNow you know Iโ€™m not pregnant. I also know about the bad thing you did. I donโ€™t want to see you again. Iโ€™m leaving.โ€ She turned to go. She had been wronged twice. Now, she had to grit her teeth and accept her loss, but she would never forgive him or give him another chance.

Alpha quickly hugged her. โ€œItโ€™s late. Where are you going? Stay tonight. I promise I wonโ€™t touch you.โ€ Anabelle broke free from his grasp. โ€œAlpha, let me go. Iโ€™ll never trust you again. Youโ€™re a scoundrel. Disappointing to know Iโ€™m not pregnant, isnโ€™t it? Who knows what youโ€™re thinking nowโ€ฆ?โ€

โ€œDo you think Iโ€™m thinking about how to make your belly bigger?โ€ Alpha retorted, interrupting her. His frankness caused Anabelleโ€™s face to flush crimson. She was embarrassed and angry.

โ€œWeโ€™re not young anymore; weโ€™re unfit to have children. Anabelle, you owe me a child. I fear this will become a permanent regret.โ€ His words revealed a hint of loneliness. He had always wanted more children with her, at least two, to give Divis a sibling. A girl would resemble her, and he wouldn't envy Damien's smart daughter, Olive. A boy would be like her โ€“ a cool and elegant talent. Alpha thought of Marvin, Anabelleโ€™s son with Marcus. He was a good boy, much like Anabelle, but he wasnโ€™t his. That was his greatest regret.

Anabelle also thought of her child, the biggest wound in her heart, and Elvis. She pulled her hand away, her red eyes fixed on him. โ€œAlpha, why do you act like a loving father now? After I left, Elvis was forced into a mental hospital. Where were you? Itโ€™s been two years, Alpha. Thatโ€™s your son! Why didnโ€™t you save him? Elvis isnโ€™t crazy. Where were you, and what were you doing?โ€ She had heard Olive mention Elvisโ€™s confinement in a mental hospital. Her heart ached. She didn't know where Alpha had been during those two years. It was his biological son, yet he was so cruel.

At her words, Alpha's eyes darkened. He tried to speak but couldnโ€™t.

โ€œSay it! Why donโ€™t you say anything? Alpha, you can treat me however you like, but ask yourself: have you been a good father all these years? Sometimes, I really hate you!โ€ Anabelle left. This time, Alpha didnโ€™t follow. He knew he hadnโ€™t been a good father, son, or husband. Looking back, his life was full of mistakes. He hated himself too.

Alpha coughed lightly, tasting blood. He swallowed it down without a handkerchief. Reuben entered. โ€œSir, you should explain those two years. Tell the lady.โ€

Alpha shook his head. โ€œItโ€™s pointless. Donโ€™t talk about it in front of her without my permission, okay?โ€

Reuben nodded. โ€œYes, sir.โ€

โ€œGo. Iโ€™ll rest.โ€ Reuben noticed Alpha's pale face. His masterโ€™s heart condition had worsened; he could collapse at any moment. โ€œSir, let me call the doctor.โ€

โ€œNo, go.โ€

Reuben left. In the hallway, Mrs. Samantha and Olive watched Anabelle depart. Mrs. Samantha sighed.

โ€œGrandma, are you worried about Uncle Augustine and Aunt Anabelle?โ€ Olive asked.

Mrs. Samantha nodded. โ€œTheyโ€™ve been together half their lives. I donโ€™t know if itโ€™s fate or a sin. Alpha gave Anabelle his all, but she didn't fall in love with him.โ€

Olive blinked. โ€œGrandma, do you think she doesnโ€™t love him?โ€

Mrs. Samantha looked at Olive suspiciously. โ€œOlive, do you think she loves him?โ€

Olive pursed her lips, her eyes gleaming. She looked around and said, โ€œWeโ€™ll see if she loves him if we try.โ€

Mrs. Samanthaโ€™s eyes lit up. โ€œOlive, you have a good idea!โ€
