Chapter 738: Olive Returns!
Lily had never seen her mysterious accomplice before. Seeing Scarlett was shocking. Scarlett's mother remained silent; in the dim light, her aged, wrinkled face appeared sinister and terrifying. She had lurked beside Bounty for so long, personally planning her death. Who could have imagined she would wait so long?
Three days felt like a century. Under the cloak of a quiet night, Scarlett took a risk and emerged.
“I… I don’t know what’s going on,” she stammered. “Alpha suppressed all rumors, preventing me from approaching Bounty. Nathan, that little rat, was always with him. The boy claimed Bounty wasn’t dead.”
Scarlett’s expression changed. She grabbed Lily’s collar. “What did you say? Nathan said Bounty isn't dead?”
“Yes, but Bounty is obviously dead…”
“Damn it! I’ve been tricked!” Scarlett released Lily, whirling to leave. Escape seemed impossible; the door opened to reveal a brightly lit hallway, surrounded by bodyguards.
Her heart sank. Steady footsteps approached; Alpha appeared, with little Nathan beside him.
“Miss Scarlett, since you’re here, where else do you intend to go?” Nathan inquired.
Terrified, Lily quickly explained, “Alpha, I’m not connected to her. She approached me; believing she cared about Bounty, I spoke with her.”
Scarlett interrupted, “Idiot! Stop explaining! They know everything. They’re using you as bait!”
Lily’s legs buckled; she collapsed, staring at Alpha in shock and fear. He gently raised his eyelids, regarding her calmly. Lily was speechless, stunned by the sudden exposure. She was finished.
Alpha’s dark eyes fixed on Scarlett. “Who are you?”
Scarlett's face contorted. “It’s Olive again! What pill did she give Bounty to protect her heart?”
“My mother, Olive,” Nathan replied.
“Olive! Why is it always you? I hate you!” Scarlett’s clenched fists and blazing eyes betrayed her immense hatred and resentment.
“I won’t tell you anything,” Scarlett laughed hysterically, pointing to the clock. “The medicine lasted seventy-two hours. It’s almost midnight. Where’s Olive? Damn it! If you want to hate someone for killing your sister, hate Olive! Haha.”
Aiden whispered, “Sir, it’s almost midnight.”
Alpha’s face was grim. It was almost midnight. Where was Olive? Could she possibly be too late?
Suddenly, the back door burst open. A slender, beautiful figure—Olive—entered the room.
Outside was dark; Olive wore a black cloak and hat, emerging from darkness into the bright light. She removed her hat, revealing her captivating face. Her red lips curved into a slight smile; her clear eyes scanned the room.
“Someone was just talking about me. Who was that?” Olive’s resonant voice demanded.
Olive had returned, before midnight! Alpha’s cold expression softened; Aiden sighed in relief. Scarlett froze, staring at Olive’s calm, reassuring smile.
Nathan rushed to her, “Mummy, I missed you…”
Olive hugged him, kissing his cheeks. “Nathan, Mummy misses you too!”
“Olive! Why is it always you?” Scarlett yelled, struggling against the bodyguards.
Olive removed her cloak, her aura commanding. Approaching Scarlett, she asked, “Are you… Molly?”
Scarlett stiffened, surprised by Olive’s swift recognition. Olive grabbed Scarlett’s face, swiftly removing the skin mask. Scarlett’s true face—Molly—was revealed.
Alpha stepped forward, beside Olive. “I didn’t expect you were lurking beside Aunt Bounty. Molly, it’s been a long time. Is she from the Mermen?”
Olive nodded. “Yes. The Augustine family’s troubles stem from the Mermen. They infiltrated the family while Aunt Bounty lived in Imperial City, rewriting the family history.”
