Chapter 188: A Twin, Her Wish

Elvis stood quietly, his gaze falling on Bountyโ€™s face. Bounty, unafraid, had been about to reveal his terrible past to Olive before his arrival. Olive turned, seeing Elvis, and said quickly, โ€œMr. Augustine, youโ€™re here. I was looking for you.โ€

Elvis approached with a steady pace. โ€œOlive, please wait for me outside,โ€ he said calmly. Olive, fearing a disastrous confrontation if she left, hesitantly tugged at his sleeve with her white fingers. Elvis curved his lips into a slight arc and muttered, โ€œI just want to speak to my aunt. Mrs. Augustine, please wait outside.โ€

Olive slowly withdrew her hand. โ€œOkay. Iโ€™ll be outside. Donโ€™t keep me waiting.โ€ She turned and left.

Elvis and Bounty were alone in the hallway. A strange, depressing feeling hung in the air. Bountyโ€™s expression was blank. Expecting respect from her nephew, his proximity panicked her. โ€œElvis, I was about to tell Olive about your dark past. I want her to know how terrible you are.โ€

Elvis moved closer. โ€œAunt, donโ€™t mistake my calmness for weakness.โ€ As he elegantly approached, Bounty could only slowly retreat. โ€œElvis, you and I know your past canโ€™t be hidden forever. Sooner or later, Olive will find out.โ€ Bountyโ€™s back hit the wall; she placed her hands behind her for support.

Elvisโ€™s eyes were flushed, his lips curled into a bloodthirsty sneer. โ€œAunt, donโ€™t think that because youโ€™re my aunt, Iโ€™ll let you get away with anything. If you canโ€™t shut your mouth, Iโ€™ll help you shut it!โ€ He smashed his fist into the wall. Bountyโ€™s face paled; she screamed, covering her face with her hands.

Though Elvisโ€™s fist missed Bounty, the sound was deafening. Trembling, Bounty was shocked. She had witnessed Elvisโ€™s terrifying temper; he was a monster!

A slender hand reached out, clasping Elvisโ€™s arm. A cold voice sounded in his ear, โ€œItโ€™s enough, bro!โ€ Marvin muttered.

Elvis, his gaze fixed on Bounty, glared coldly.

โ€œYou donโ€™t care about your aunt, your grandmother, or the Augustine family. How do you intend to care for Olive? She foolishly believes your words and lies,โ€ Marvin said calmly.

Elvis froze at the mention of Oliveโ€™s name. โ€œOlive likes you very much and has tried to portray you in a good light. She even publicly declared sheโ€™ll give you two children. Although youโ€™re possessive and manipulative, she still likes you. Sheโ€™s willful and coquettish with you, wanting to be by your side constantly! You should look in the mirror and see how abnormal and terrible you are!โ€ Marvin added angrily.

โ€œSheโ€™s done so much for you. Donโ€™t add to her burden! Yes, I like her, I like Olive, but she loves you. Why canโ€™t you be content with that? Why?โ€ Marvinโ€™s calm tone belied his rage.

Elvisโ€™s handsome eyes cleared, the haze and scarlet fading. His tense muscles loosened; he withdrew his fist, took two steps back, and turned away without a word.

Marvin rushed to Bountyโ€™s side. โ€œAunt, are you alright?โ€

โ€œMonster! Heโ€™s a monster!โ€ Bounty pointed in Elvisโ€™s direction, clutching her chest.

Marvin helped Bounty into a room. Pamela emerged from behind the door; she had been there the entire time, witnessing everything.

Marvin looked at Pamela indifferently. โ€œWhat did you see?โ€

โ€œI saw you like Olive. I saw Elvis is ill-tempered and easily angered. His temper worsens when he sees someone with Olive.โ€

Pamela, jealous of Oliveโ€™s attraction to Elvis and now Marvin, was stunned by the news of Elvisโ€™s illness. Oliveโ€™s husband wasโ€ฆ She looked at Marvin. โ€œAcademician Marvin, I want Marvin, and you want Olive. How about we work together to achieve our dreams?โ€

โ€œWork together?โ€ Marvin scoffed, tucking his hands into his pockets. He was reserved and didnโ€™t readily let people into his life.

Pamelaโ€™s expression changed. Marvinโ€™s refusal surprised her. โ€œYou have enough information. If youโ€™re smart, itโ€™ll be enough.โ€ Marvin turned and left.

Elvis brought Olive back to the Red Villa. Old Mrs. Samantha had prepared dinner. Olive tasted the pastrami sandwich, murmuring, โ€œGrandma, this is so good.โ€

The old lady smiled brightly. โ€œEat up, Olly. You need plenty of carbs as your babies might arrive soon.โ€
