Chapter 403 Cancel The Collaboration
Raylee frowned, retorting, โSo what? Even if I bankrupted it out of negligence, whatโs it to you? If Mr. Foucault doesnโt blame me, what right do you have to interfere? Besides, Iโve hired a professional manager to take care of it for me, okay? You should really stop worrying over such trivial matters!โ
Rayleeโs dismissive tone infuriated Casimir.
โWhy get someone else to manage it when you could have entrusted it to me?โ He warned, โNext time something like this happens, you need to tell me right away, understand? Also, whatever assets Mr. Foucault has given you, go home and make a list of them for me. Iโll help you plan things out properly.โ
In his eyes, Raylee was his. Everything about her, including her assets, belonged entirely to him.
Raylee snorted in response. โAre you complaining about me? Fine! I canโt believe how ungrateful you are. I connected the two of you, yet youโre still unsatisfied with me. Also, why on earth should you be managing my money? It doesnโt make sense. You should manage your own money instead. Donโt overstep your boundaries!โ
โDo you still want to marry me or not?โ Casimir used this as his bargaining chip. โIf you still aspire to marry into the Sutherland family, you must obey me. Youโre a clueless woman who doesnโt know anything other than squandering money! My helping you plan is for your own good, as it maximizes your assets. I want my mother to see that you are the best candidate for the lady of the Sutherland family.โ
Raylee chuckled. โDonโt you already have a fiancรฉe? You were even getting it on with her last night! Have you no shame? Youโre asking me if I want to marry you; are you joking? Compared to you, isnโt the single Mr. Foucault more appealing? Plus, he can shower me with money!โ
Casimir tugged at his collar, attempting to cover the hickey on his neck. Upon being embarrassed, he became upset. โSo what if heโs rich? Mr. Foucault is such a retard. He has no abilities to speak of. All he does is go along with whatever a woman says. He has no opinion and is nothing but a piece of trash. Relying on his family fortune to recklessly splurge, heโll be the death of them. No matter how much money they have, heโd eventually squander it all!โ
โSince youโre so worried that Mr. Foucault will squander all the money, then letโs just call off todayโs collaboration!โ Raylee casually shrugged her shoulders. โActually, it really pains me to see him spending money like thereโs no tomorrow. So, we should do this since itโs for his own good.โ
Casimir anxiously said, โThatโs not what I meant!โ
โWhat do you then mean, Mr. Sutherland?โ Raylee asked, letting out a snigger. โYou look down on Mr. Foucault, yet you wanted to collaborate with him. Talk about wanting to have your cake and eat it too!โ
Casimir could only coax her patiently, โI know that youโre just jealous because of Waverly. The mark on my neck isnโt a hickey; I scratched it myself. I only lied because I was afraid Mr. Foucault would misunderstand our relationship. Really, Ray-Ray, please believe me. My engagement to Waverly is just for show. I promise you, nothing will ever happen between us!โ
Raylee sneered, โOh? Is that so? Then would you dare to call Waverly, put her on speaker, and tell her that you two have never slept together?โ
Casimir suddenly fell silent.
If he were to call Waverly unannounced, the latter was bound to let something slip.
He could only retort defiantly. โRayโRay, donโt you trust me? In your eyes, do I not even possess a shred of credibility? Youโve utterly disappointed me. After all these years, it seems our affection means nothing to you!โ
Raylee scoffed and said, โI trust you, but donโt you think you should provide some evidence? You canโt just say something and expect me to believe it. Anyone can talk big. Besides, making a call isnโt that hard. Are you worried that it would be expensive? Then use my cell phone!โ
She pulled out her own cell phone and handed it to Casimir, leaving him dumbfounded.
If word got out that I slept with Waverly, Raylee would certainly fly into a jealous rage. Given her temperament, she'd probably mess up the collaboration with Mr. Foucault.
โFine. Weโre all adults here, I understand.โ
Observing Casimirโs awkward demeanor, Raylee didnโt feel like wasting words on him. She headed straight back to the private room.
From Casimirโs perspective, her anger was a sign of her jealousy.
He was notoriously bad at appeasing women. As the proud heir of the Sutherland family, his dignity didnโt allow him to lower himself to them.
If only Raylee could be as understanding as Waverly, that would be perfect!
He turned around, staring at the graceful silhouette of Raylee.
Before he knew it, a hint of infatuation had crept into his gaze.
His throat suddenly tightened.
I canโt believe how captivating Raylee has become. She looks so stunning now, surpassing Waverly in both looks and figure.
