Chapter 341: A Real Man
Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!
Suddenly, a burst of laughter echoed from behind. Raylee turned her head, noticing the masked man had arrived at some point without her knowledge. Beneath his feet was the short and stout Dodo. Upon seeing her, Dodo dashed over, wrapping his arms around her legs. His voice, still childlike and soft, said, โMommy, you came looking for me, didnโt you? I wanted to take you with me to visit the grave, but Daddy wouldnโt let me wake you up! What a meanie!โ
Raylee was flabbergasted. She had been upset early in the morning, complaining that the masked man didnโt even take her with him to pay his respects to his ancestors. How did he manage to appear before me so silently? I thought they had gone back to their homeland to honor their ancestors? Could one actually do so remotely? Foreign customs sure are peculiar!
Regardless, seeing the two suddenly appearing before her was an absolute delight. She wrapped her arms around Dodo, planting a kiss on his chubby, rosy cheeks before she turned to approach the masked man. โWhat are you doing here?โ she asked, trying to contain her excitement.
โYou took out your ex-boyfriend with your own hands. How could I miss such an exciting event?โ The masked man grasped her hand, his voice laced with concern as he continued, โHow are you feeling? Did your hand hurt from hitting him? Do you want Plumpy to step in? Sheโs a master in combat, so she could knock your ex out in one move! Or maybe you could just kill him. I have a gun on me right now.โ
His concern wasnโt for the person who got hit, but rather, he was worried about whether her hand was hurting or not. Raylee was deeply moved. She wished fervently that Casimir could see what a real man was like. Instead of thinking that he could have his way just by making empty promises, he was the type to worry about hurting her hand when she hit someone, and if she were to kill, heโd be the one handing her the gun.
Raylee threw her arms around the masked man. โIโve missed you so much. I thought you had left me to go home to pay your respects to your ancestors and would never return!โ
The masked man playfully nudged her small nose, finding himself nonplussed as he said, โWhat are you thinking? I was just paying my respects in Jexburgh. My motherโs gravestone is here.โ
โWhat? How could your motherโs tombstone be here? Wasnโt she a foreigner?โ Raylee questioned with puzzlement.
โNo; her background is a bit complex. Iโll explain it to you slowly when we have more time.โ
โReally? Youโre truly willing to tell me?โ Raylee was beyond thrilled.
This was the first time the masked man voluntarily spoke about his family affairs. It was truly a rare occurrence.
Meanwhile, upon seeing the sudden appearance of the masked man, Casimir was immediately on his guard, as if facing aโฆ
No wonder Raylee suddenly lashed out at me! She mustโve noticed Mr. Foucaultโs arrival! Iโve been far too careless. My entire attention was focused on Raylee that I was completely oblivious to everything else! Mr. Foucault didnโt hear our conversation, right? Well, even if he did hear it, it probably wouldnโt have made much of a difference, right? After all, Raylee had punched me in the face. That was a close call! I almost made an irreversible blunderโฆ
While he was feeling relieved, he also observed the intimate posture between the two. Huhโฆ Their relationship seems to have developed so rapidly. Theyโre so close that those who are unaware might mistake them for a long-time couple! It seems Raylee certainly has a way with men! Plus, sheโs incredibly beautiful, so any man would have been more than willing to fall at her feet.
Looking at the two of them intimately embracing each other, Casimir was left with a bitter taste in his heart. However, when he thought about how Raylee had gone to such lengths to sleep with Leonardo, all in the name of supporting his career, he immediately felt a sense of relief.
Raylee loves me! That sudden punch earlier was merely a ruse to mislead Mr. Foucault! My woman sure is nice to me! After I marry her, I must treat her well in return!
After calming his emotions, Casimir took the initiative to go over and say hello. โMr. Foucault, we meet again! What a delightful coincidence!โ
โI wouldnโt exactly call this delightful, though! I heard youโre my girlfriendโs ex-boyfriend, Mr. Sutherland. Do you know what a good ex-boyfriend should be like? A decent ex-boyfriend should be as good as dead! Why are you still standing here, alive and well? Why donโt you just drop dead?โ the masked man retorted with a disdainful snort.
Casimir wore an expression of embarrassment. Naturally, he could tell that Leonardo harbored a strong resentment toward him. It seems Mr. Foucault is quite anxious about Raylee. Otherwise, he wouldnโt have been so jealous. Once you view this from a different perspective, youโll realize that this is actually a good thing! The deeper Mr. Foucaultโs feelings grow, the more effective Rayleeโs pillow talk will become, further facilitating our collaboration.
Suppressing his inner joy, Casimir wore an expression of anxiety as he explained, โMr. Foucault, youโve misunderstood my relationship with RayโRay. We are already a thing of the past. Forget being boyfriend and girlfriend; we canโt even be considered as ordinary friends.โ
