Tiffany stared at her blood-smeared hands, panic seizing her. “No, I didn’t kill anyone! She rammed her head into the wall herself! She’s falsely accusing me…” However, faced with undeniable evidence, no one believed a word she said. Waverly was urgently rushed into the operating room. “Don’t be upset, Mrs. Goodridge. I’ll find the best doctor for your daughter. It’s my fault for not managing my own daughter properly. I apologize.”
Alaric angrily retorted, “She almost cost our daughter her life! Do you think a simple apology solves everything?”
He continued, “Mr. Victor, you’re the influential figure of the Lorimer family, the most prominent in Jexburgh. You run Lorimer Group, balancing business and politics. How could you break your word and allow your daughter to harm mine? Why did you accept Snow Wave Amusement Park if you couldn’t keep your promises?”
Resentment welled up inside Rosalind. “Mr. Goodridge, even though you graciously withdrew from the project, it was a transaction between elders. My daughter received no compensation. The banquet incident irrevocably harmed my daughter. It’s understandable if she harbors thoughts of revenge. I think we should call it even. Let’s not bother each other anymore.”
Alaric, dissatisfied, exclaimed, “Mrs. Lorimer, did I hear you correctly? I handed over our family’s foundation to save my daughter’s life, and now you want to call it even? There’s no such thing as a free lunch. I won’t rest until I get an explanation!”
“You…” Rosalind began to argue.
“Enough!” Victor interrupted, his voice heavy with seriousness. “Rosalind, get ready. Arrange for Tiffany to go abroad. She’s not allowed to return without my permission. Mr. Goodridge, are you satisfied? I assure you, if anyone from the Lorimer family harms your daughter in the future, you can choose any Lorimer Group project, and I’ll hand it over without a fight.”
Alaric’s anger subsided slightly. “Mr. Lorimer, remember those words. I hope you live up to them. Let’s go, Honey.”
“You’ve let greed cloud your judgment! Sending your own daughter abroad? I can’t believe you’d do such a thing!”
“But Tiffany said she didn’t kill anyone! She claimed Waverly banged her own head against the wall to frame her.”
“Is there any evidence? Without it, she’s making baseless claims! Even if true, the girl’s ruthlessness proves she’s tough. If Tiffany continues to challenge her, she’ll suffer a setback. Sending her abroad might not be such a bad idea after all,” Victor said, analyzing the situation.
That day, Rosalind urgently sent Tiffany abroad. She couldn’t return for at least three to five years. Upon learning this while hospitalized, Waverly felt a wave of relief. Having driven Tiffany away, she had one less formidable opponent to worry about. Her safety, for now, was somewhat assured.
Next, it was time to deal with Mindy. She clenched her fists, her face fierce. Casimir entered the sickroom. Waverly feigned weakness, forcing herself to sit up.
“You’re awake? Hurry up and lie down.” Casimir assisted her.
With red-rimmed eyes, Waverly confided, “I’m so scared, Casimir. Tiffany said she wouldn’t let me off the hook. She believes I orchestrated the banquet incident… But I wasn’t afraid of her hurting me. I feared you’d get caught in the crossfire. Once my parents arrive, I’ll have them visit your family to call off the marriage. Then, you can publicly announce our engagement is off. Tiffany should leave you alone if we have no ties left!”
