Chapter 254: Snagged a Sugar Daddy
She had no idea what Raylee had been through. Why, five months ago, she was a frail and delicate disabled person, but now her skills have become so formidable? She even managed to effortlessly incapacitate two grown men! No, she can't be that formidable. She probably just learned some combat arts techniques or something. Casimir and Samuel merely let their guard down momentarily, and she seized the opportunity.
Intending to get back at Raylee, Waverly secretly retrieved a bottle of pepper spray from her bag. However, Raylee swiftly snatched the pepper spray from her the moment she got it out.
“Raylee, I—” Before Waverly could finish her sentence, Raylee mercilessly sprayed her entire face with the pepper spray.
“Argh! It hurts so much!” Waverly was choked into a fit of violent coughing, her eyes stinging painfully. She covered her eyes and let out a chilling scream. The face that was initially adorned with delicate makeup had now transformed into a ghastly visage. Forget about being the campus belle; she couldn’t even be the butt of a joke.
Halston approached with a flattering tone, “Ray-Ray, you’re so cool! But Samuel and Waverly are both your family members, though. Isn’t it a bit inappropriate to resort to fighting when things don’t go your way? Don’t you think you should at least try to talk things out first?”
“Shut up!” exclaimed Raylee, as she aimed the pepper spray at Halston. A few sprays later, Halston was left clutching his eyes while writhing and screaming in discomfort on the ground.
Seeing them all injured and in pain, a sense of satisfaction surged within Raylee’s heart. She then opened the door of the luxury car and got in. No sooner had she gotten into the car than she was swept into a broad and sturdy embrace, a large hand tenderly cradling her chin. Inhaling the captivating scent of pine cologne from the masked man, a flutter involuntarily seized Raylee’s heart.
“You’re finally back!” She fell into the warmth of the man’s arms, going along with the momentum as she transformed into a blissful woman, basking in the sweetness of love.
Outside the car, both Casimir and Samuel were stunned as they watched the luxury car drive off. There wasn’t a single person present who wouldn’t recognize this globally limited edition luxury car. How could Raylee possibly afford such an expensive car on her own? No, a car of this caliber isn’t something one can just buy with money. Both money and power are indispensable, so the buyer is certainly no ordinary individual.
After recovering, Halston squinted his pained eyes and leaned in to ask, “Samuel, is this fake heiress of yours really this formidable? Did she buy that car herself?”
“Get lost!” Samuel disgustedly pushed him away. “Aren’t you her simp? Aren’t you more foe than friend to me? If so, then get lost!”
Halston wore a gloomy expression, letting out a heavy humph as he said, “I’m fond of her. It’s been a while since a woman has stirred my heart! The moment I laid my eyes on Ray-Ray, I fell head over heels for her. Even if it means becoming enemies with you, I still want to be with her!”
Waverly approached with her face stripped of makeup. Halston looked at her and was taken aback. He had never found Waverly particularly attractive. Sure, she could look decent with makeup on, but she was far from being the campus belle. Now that her makeup had come off, he was almost scared to death when he saw her face. Ray-Ray sure is the prettier one!
“Halston, Raylee has already cut ties with the Goodridge family. Her biological mother was a housekeeper, and her father, a compulsive gambler. There’s no way she could have afforded that car, so don’t let the allure of that luxury car blind you,” Waverly explained with a furrowed brow.
“I didn’t fall for her because of her car, but rather her cool and confident personality, and her heavenly beauty! Even if she were a homeless man’s daughter, I would still be fond of her!” Halston declared assertively.
“She’s long gone, and you’re still simping for her over here? What the f*ck is wrong with you?” Samuel exclaimed, clearly annoyed.
Suddenly, something seemed to occur to Waverly, and she gasped in shock. “Samuel, do you think Raylee could have snagged herself a sugar daddy?” she asked.
That single question stunned everyone present. After regaining his composure, Casimir’s expression turned incredibly serious as he said, “Who would have thought Raylee would stoop so low as to get herself a sugar daddy! I’m utterly disappointed!”
“Who knows, he might even be a married man! Otherwise, who else in Jexburgh would be a bachelor of unparalleled influence and wealth and could afford to buy a globally limited-edition car? He must be an older man, someone of extraordinary status. If he isn’t a married man, then what else could he be?” Waverly added in an exaggerated tone.
