Chapter 152: Intended To Take Her Life
Waverly pleaded urgently, โCasimir, hurry up and save me! Raylee isnโt joking around. She said she would face certain death at Musmevnia, so she wanted to settle scores now. She really wants to kill me!โ
Shanice hurriedly explained, โDonโt listen to Waverlyโs nonsense. She came running on her own to beg Ray-Ray to persuade Casimir not to go to Musmevnia. After her request was denied, she started making a scene, threatening to jump off the building. Sheโs using her own death as leverage to prevent Casimir from going to Musmevnia. It isnโt at all like she claimed, that Ray-Ray wants to kill her. Ask the onlookers. Anyone here can vouch for it.โ
The onlookers, watching the drama unfold, nodded in agreement. โThatโs right. We witnessed it ourselves. It was this young woman who first threatened to take her own life.โ
Waverly, on the verge of tears, explained loudly, โThatโs right! I donโt want Casimir to go to Musmevnia. Casimir is my fiancรฉ, and I worry about him. I donโt want him to march into danger. Have I done something wrong? Raylee, out of all the men in the world, why did you have to go after mine? If you insist on taking him away from me, my existence in this world becomes meaningless. Itโs you whoโs driving me into a corner!โ
Harriet sobbed until her voice was hoarse. โWavy, are you truly going to leave your mother and the family who loves you! I missed out on eighteen years with you, and it was only after great difficulty that I found you. How could you be so heartless, to just up and leave me like this?โ
โMom, itโs Raylee who forced me. We can only continue to be mother and daughter in the next life. Dad, Mom, I love you.โ
In the next moment, Waverly set her sights on the air conditioner bracket. She planned to make her move while Raylee was distracted, leaping toward it.
Raylee had been cautious. Before Waverly could leap, Raylee forcefully pushed her off the building. Rayleeโs speed was so fast that it caught Waverly off guard.
โAh! Raylee, why did you push me?โ Waverly let out a heart-wrenching scream.
The position where Raylee pushed Waverly down was quite a distance from the air conditioner bracket, resulting in the latter falling straight down to the third floor. With that fall, even if she didnโt die, she would have been severely injured.
โAll right. The whole world is finally at peaceโฆโ Kaylee briskly clapped her hands, a cruel smirk playing at the corners of her mouth. The members of the Goodridge family immediately dashed to the first floor, and the onlookers, too, shifted their attention.
โRay-Ray, why did you get close to her? Now look whatโs happened. Sheโll be dragging you down with her, accusing you of pushing her.โ Shanice shook her head. โWhat a jinx. If someone like her were to enter the Sutherland family, who knows what kind of utter chaos sheโll bring to the household? Now thatโs settled. With her leap, I can conveniently ask Casimir to cancel the engagement.โ
โI was the one who pushed her,โ Raylee admitted without any attempt to evade.
โWhat?โ Shocked, Shanice responded with a grave expression. โYou shouldnโt admit it, especially not in front of your family. Otherwise, youโd bring a whole lot of trouble upon yourself.โ
โWhatโs there to fear! Are they going to call the cops on me? If they do, I wonโt be able to get to Musmevnia and save Jeremiah.โ Raylee raised an eyebrow at her, then followed the others down to the first floor.
However, to her disappointment, Waverly had only sustained minor external injuries and a broken leg that prevented her from walking. This was all thanks to Samuel, the overprotective brother. He had gone down ahead of time to keep watch and was there to catch Waverly when she fell. Both siblings were injured, with Samuel bearing the brunt of it, his injuries being more severe.
She then turned her pleading gaze toward Casimir. โCasimir, if I end up lame, will you abandon me?โ
Gently cradling her through his own pain, Samuel comforted, โWavy, donโt be scared. The ambulance will be here soon. Donโt worry. Casimir wonโt dare to leave you. If he doesโฆ Iโll fight him to the end!โ
Harriet was crouched off to the side, wiping her tears. She was filled with both heartache and sorrow. โMy dear daughter, how could you actually jump? You scared me to death. I thought I would never see you again.โ
โIt wasnโt my own choice to jump. Raylee pushed me,โ Waverly explained in a panic. โYou can check the surveillance footage. I didnโt really intend to jump. The footage can vouch for my innocence.โ
Harriet looked at Raylee with a stern gaze. โRay-Ray, how could you treat Wavy like this? Do you despise her that much that you wish for her death? Do you know Wavy is the most important person in my life? If you dare threaten her life, be afraid I might threaten yours?โ
Samuel grimaced as he reprimanded harshly, โHad I not been there to catch her, Wavy would have probably lost her life. Youโre so cruel, daring to attempt murder right before our eyes!โ
Raylee didnโt back down, nor did she deny anything. Instead, she boldly provoked, โIndeed, I was the one who pushed her down. I intended to take her life.โ
