Chapter 102: Let Me Kill Him
Irritated, Casimir snapped, โDo you want to end up in jail for murder? You didnโt just hit some random guy; you hit someone from the Lorimer family. If this turns into a murder case, not even your father will be able to save you!โ
Samuelโs fists remained tightly clenched. His dark eyes blazed with a fury that refused to accept defeat. Eventually, he exhaled sharply, choosing to hold back from further action.
A bodyguard hurried over, handing Jeremiah a white handkerchief. Jeremiah wiped the blood from his face, then locked eyes with Casimir and Samuel. Suddenly, a cold laugh escaped his lips.
โWell, well, who do we have here? Casimir, are you joining the fight to avenge your beloved ex-fiancรฉe?โ
Casimir met his icy gaze with a calm, unreadable expression. โGentlemen, settle matters with words, not fists. Unlike you two, I donโt stoop to childish brawls in public.โ
โOh, so youโre a gentleman now, huh? If youโre so refined, why canโt you stop obsessing over my fiancรฉe!โ Jeremiahโs dark eyes burned with icy sarcasm. โWhatโs with that pebble bracelet you gave her! Trying to win her over? Too badโI smashed it to bits. And let me tell you, every time you give her something, Iโll make sure itโs destroyed.โ
Jeremiah gritted his teeth, his gaze fixed on Casimir with a ferocity akin to a wild beast. It was clear he wanted nothing more than to tear him apart.
Casimir knew he was in the wrong. He couldnโt forget about Raylee, even insisting that she wear the bracelet he had given her. Instead of addressing Jeremiahโs words, Casimir shifted to defending Raylee.
โWhy did you hurt Raylee? Do you even consider her your fiancรฉe? Have you ever thought about spending the rest of your life with her? If you donโt love her, then let her go. Donโt hurt her.โ
Jeremiahโs eyes glinted with a hint of amusement. โSo, youโre really in love with her, arenโt you? If you love her so much, then why did you hurt her? Youโre no different from her so-called caring brother. If anything, you might be worse.โ
โI never hurt her!โ Casimir retorted defensively.
โHave you lost your memories?โ Jeremiah replied with a biting smirk. โShe just spent four years in prison, and the Goodridge family, including you, played no small part in putting her there.โ
Casimir fell silent; Jeremiahโs words had struck him at his sore spot. He knew the truthโhe was just as guilty as Jeremiah. The pain he had caused Raylee, the debt he owed her, could never be repaid in this lifetime.
Jeremiah let out a cold laugh. โCasimir, arenโt we two of a kind? Neither of us has the right to judge the other. Oh, waitโactually, I do have that right! Do you even realize that RayโRay spent her first three years in District Nine Prison? Do you have any idea what a nightmare that place is? I spent a year there myself, went through hell, and even that felt like nothing compared to what she endured. I couldnโt even last a year, yet you left her there for three. The fact that she survived at all is downright terrifying. Compared to the harm Iโve caused, the damage youโve inflicted is beyond comprehension. So yes, I absolutely have the right to judge you!โ
โThatโs all in the past now. Iโll make it up to her in the future,โ Casimir responded, his voice barely a whisper.
โA future! Do you really think she even wants one with you? Donโt kid yourself. The damage youโve done to her is irreversible. If she doesnโt hate you already, you should count yourself lucky!โ
โThatโs my concern, and I swear, Iโll never hurt her again! Jeremiah, Iโm telling you now, if you so much as lay a finger on her again, I wonโt let it slide! Even if the Sutherland family doesnโt match the Lorimer family in power, Iโm more than capable of dealing with an illegitimate child like you.โ
Samuel, gritting his teeth, interjected, โCaz, donโt waste your breath on this lunatic. The more you engage with him, the more heโll act out.โ
โSamuel, you know me so well! Since you understand me so perfectly, why donโt you take a guess at what Iโll do to RayโRay next time?โ Jeremiah, his brows furrowed and stained with blood, gave him a challenging look.
Overcome with frustration, Samuel snatched the gun from Casimirโs hand and aimed it directly at Jeremiah.
โSamuel, donโt be reckless!โ
Just as Samuel was about to pull the trigger, Casimir lunged forward, grabbing him in an embrace and causing the gun to veer off target. The bullet struck Jeremiahโs sports car instead.
Missing his mark, Samuel seethed with rage. โCaz, why did you stop me? Let me kill him!โ
Taking advantage of the moment, Casimir quickly disarmed Samuel and flung the gun far away, ensuring no further reckless actions could occur.
