Listen to this chapter:

Zach frowned, feeling uninterested that night. โ€œNo need, take her away,โ€ he said.

The managerโ€™s smile didnโ€™t falter as he motioned for Dani to leave, and they both walked away without protest.

A little further down the hallway, Dani asked, โ€œDidnโ€™t you say Mr. Zach usually likes company when he stays over? What happened tonight?โ€

The manager chuckled. โ€œThatโ€™s how it usually is, but there are exceptions. Do you think every man in a hotel is just looking for that?โ€

โ€œBut Iโ€ฆโ€ She had waited so long for this chance.

The manager sneered. โ€œWhat you want doesnโ€™t matter; itโ€™s what Mr. Zach wants that counts. Tough luck this timeโ€”maybe heโ€™s already had his fill and isnโ€™t looking for dessert. Youโ€™d better get over yourself, youโ€™re not as irresistible as you thinkโ€ฆโ€

Dani clenched her teeth in frustration.

Meanwhile, Winter enjoyed a relaxing bath. She had just finished drying her hair when she heard a knock at the door.

She assumed it was Zach.

โ€œWhat do you want at this hourโ€”oh!โ€

It wasnโ€™t Zach.

A young man stood in the doorway. He offered a slightly awkward smile when their eyes met. โ€œSorry, I think I knocked on the wrong door.โ€

โ€œItโ€™s fine,โ€ Winter replied, ready to close the door. Suddenly, his hand blocked it from shutting.

She raised an eyebrow, looking at him. โ€œIs there something else?โ€

โ€œDo you really not recognize me?โ€ he asked, his eyes shifting to an expression of longing mixed with a hint of vulnerability.

Winter chuckled, taking a moment to really examine him. She didnโ€™t believe the โ€œwrong doorโ€ excuse. There were only two suites on this floorโ€”hers and Zachโ€™s. Was he trying to say that he had come looking for Zach dressed like this?

The man wore a white T-shirt with light green shorts and sneakers. He had that fresh, youthful look that hit all of Winterโ€™s aesthetic preferences.

โ€œLiโ€ฆโ€

โ€œLiam Chapman,โ€ he finished, not minding that she hadnโ€™t remembered his full name.

โ€œLiam, what do you want?โ€ Winter crossed her arms, watching him intently.

โ€œDid Duane really take you to that dinner?โ€ he asked.

โ€œAnd if he did?โ€

โ€œIf he did, then you should replace him,โ€ Liam responded confidently.

Liam was from the same agency as Duane, and they had debuted together. Despite their seemingly amicable front, they were fierce rivals competing for the same resources.

Winterโ€™s smile deepened, prompting him with the question heโ€™d been waiting for, โ€œReplace him with who?โ€

His eyes lit up. โ€œWhat about me? Iโ€™m younger than Duane, cleaner than him, and most importantlyโ€”I understand the rules.โ€

Ah, the rulesโ€ฆ

Winter sized him up; he was indeed more pleasant to look at than Duane.

โ€œSo, are you offering yourself to me?โ€ she teased.

Liam blushed, his cheeks turning noticeably pink. โ€œIf thatโ€™s what you wantโ€ฆโ€

โ€œCome in,โ€ Winter said as she turned and walked back into her suite.

Heart pounding, Liam stepped inside, gently closing the door behind him.

Zach lay in bed, fiddling with his phone, but sleep wouldnโ€™t come. His stomach growled, reminding him he was hungry.

Deciding to order some late-night snacks, he headed over to knock on Winterโ€™s door.

โ€œIโ€™m ordering some food. Want me to get you something?โ€

โ€œNo need. Iโ€™m already in bed!โ€ came the reply.

โ€œAlright, your loss.โ€ Zach turned away but paused mid-step.

Something seemed off. Her voice soundedโ€ฆ breathless?

โ€œHey, are you okay in there?โ€

This time, there was no response.

Zach let out a snort. This womanโ€”so tough, so bossy, and now ignoring him!

Without someone to share a meal with, he lost his appetite. He returned to his room and, surprisingly, fell asleep rather quickly.
