Chapter 599

Joshua conceded with a laugh. It seemed their encounter in Ustrana had left a deep impression on Shermaineโ€”no wonder sheโ€™d been avoiding intimacy since their return. He held her close and asked, โ€œHow long did you plan to ban me?โ€

โ€œThree months,โ€ Shermaine replied.

Three months without sex wouldโ€™ve driven him to frustration. He had been too intense that time.

Joshua massaged her lower abdomen. โ€œDid we use protection last time?โ€ If not, he could live with three months of abstinence.

Shermaine rolled over, ignoring him.

Joshua wrapped his arms around her. โ€œAngry?โ€

Only a nightlight glowed in the room. He coaxed, โ€œWhatโ€™ll it take to make you forgive me, Sheary?โ€

The thought of Joshua fixating solely on getting her pregnant still irked her.

They hadnโ€™t used protection that night. It was her safe period, but with Joshuaโ€™s sperm count, the odds of conception were high.

Yet Shermaine suspected Joshuaโ€™s words held magicโ€“if he kept talking, she might actually get pregnant.

Joshua pressed on, โ€œWe talked about going on a date two years ago. What if we make it a space trip?โ€

Her eyes lit up. Apocalypse could navigate the cosmos, even if it lacked a spaceshipโ€™s instant teleportation. But with Dave around, travel was effortless. Dave had once feared wandering far, but now Shermaineโ€™s protection emboldened him.

Shermaineโ€™s mood shifted instantly. She rolled back to face Joshua. โ€œNo backing out. When?โ€

She refused to explore aloneโ€“he had to come with her.

Joshua thought a moment. โ€œIf youโ€™re not pregnant, we leave now. If you are, weโ€™ll go after you give birth.โ€

โ€œDeal.โ€ Before sleeping, she grinned, โ€œI didnโ€™t just give Molly handcuffs. Danielle got a pair too.โ€

Molly and Danielle were her closest friends, both in relationships, so Shermaine had shared the โ€œgiftโ€ with them.

Joshua laughed, โ€œIโ€™d happily let you cuff me, Sheary.โ€

โ€œSave the chatter. Sing me to sleep.โ€ Shermaine was restless, needing Joshuaโ€™s stories to drift off.

He nodded, launching into a soothing bedtime tale in his deep voice.

Down the hall, Gracie slept soundly in her crib. She nodded off quickly, no lullabies neededโ€“so she never got to enjoy such perks.

Danielle had owned the handcuffs for days, hiding them at the bottom of her closet to avoid Rossโ€˜ notice.

But sheโ€™d craved using them, with no luck. Shermaine had also sent condoms from the Kingdom of Xyperiaโ€“seven, each with unique packaging and instructions. Danielle wanted to try them too, but opportunities eluded her.

She stood in the walkโ€“in closet, staring at the handcuffs.

She, Molly, and Shermaine shared everything. When Molly gushed about the handcuffsโ€˜ effectiveness, Danielle ached to take charge in bed for once.

Danielle frowned. Molly and Shermaine thrived as dominants, but sheโ€™d always let Ross lead.

โ€œDanielle, youโ€™ve been standing there a while.โ€ Ross leaned in the doorway, suit jacket discarded.

She jumped, spinning around. Usually cool, her cheeks flushed like roses. โ€œWelcome home, Ross.โ€

Ross smiled, the elegant man teasing, โ€œHiding something?โ€

Danielle clasped her hands, eyes darting. โ€œCurious?โ€

She thought, โ€˜This is my chance to use the handcuffs.โ€™

Ross arched a brow, waiting.

Danielle crooked a finger. โ€œCome here, dear, and Iโ€™ll show you.โ€

Ross approached, unguarded. Marriage had only amplified Danielleโ€™s allure.

Between their busy schedulesโ€“Danielle as a surgeon, often home later than himโ€“quiet evenings together were rare.

But Ross soon sensed her tone shift. He advanced anyway, curious.

Danielle breathed in his scentโ€“faint smoke mingled with the cologne sheโ€™d gifted him. It disarmed her.

Ross asked, โ€œWhatโ€™s the secret?โ€

โ€œHold out your hands,โ€ she said, and he obeyed.

She said, โ€œBoth.โ€ He also complied.

Danielle whipped out the handcuffs, but Ross moved faster, grabbing her wrist and cuffing her.

She couldnโ€™t reach the fingerprint lock. Flustered, she glared. โ€œThatโ€™s not fair!โ€

Rossโ€˜ smile turned knowing at the sight of the cuffs. He pulled her close, gripping her jaw. โ€œSorry, itโ€™s my instinct.โ€

She thought, โ€˜Liar.โ€™ Her face burnedโ€“her dream of dominating him shattered.

Ross brushed her lips. โ€œSheary send anything else?โ€

She said, โ€œNothing.โ€

โ€œDr. Shelly, control your heartbeat before lying.โ€ Ross pressed a hand to her chest, feeling its rapid thud.

Danielle swatted his hand away. โ€œCan we pretend this never happened?โ€

Ross shook his head, then found Shermaineโ€™s condoms in the closetโ€“seven, each with distinct packaging and instructions.

He read them carefully. Danielle tried to stop him, but Ross pinned her against the closet wall. Cuffed, she was helpless.

Five minutes later, he finished studying the condoms. He held one up, murmuring in her ear, โ€œLetโ€™s test these.โ€

Sheโ€™d wanted the handcuffs, not these.

Danielle found herself cuffed to the bed, Ross gripping her jaw as he kissed her.

Roy and Molly had left the seaside villa, returning to Loang. He clung to her, following wherever she went.

That night, after Molly finished work, she took Roy to dinner. As soon as she parked, he insisted on a kiss. Molly relented.

His mating season wasnโ€™t over in a day, but that night had eased it.

Suddenly, Molly noticed paparazzi flashes outside, taking photos.

Roy, sensing her distraction, bit her lip harder. โ€œFocus, Momo.โ€

Molly caught his drift, grinning as she wrapped her arms around him, kissing him openly.

Within two hours, all of Ustrana knewโ€“the Hill familyโ€™s new leader was making out in a luxury car with her Wallington boyfriend. The photos giere crysta clear.

Men whoโ€™d idolized Molly as a fantasy mourned. The aloof Hill heir, letting a man kiss her like that. Her indulgence screamed his importance to her.

Details about Roy emerged: he was a Shay, scion of Wallingtonโ€™s elite.

Whatโ€™s more, heโ€™d pursued Molly two years ago, vanished after she did, and now returnedโ€“their love rekindled.

That night, Roy celebrated the news over dinner, thrilled that the world knew they were together.

They returned to the Hill mansion, where Hillary had prepared mountains of gifts for Royโ€™s family, stacked in a corner. It was Hillaryโ€™s first time meeting Roy, and she noted his good looks.

Roy smiled. โ€œHello, Iโ€™m Roy.โ€

Hillary summoned coffee, gesturing for him to sit.

Roy joined Molly on the couch as servants brought fruit.

Hillary asked Molly, โ€œGifts are ready. Whenโ€™s your trip?โ€

โ€œTomorrow.โ€ Molly fed Roy a cherry. โ€œWhy so many?โ€

Hillary shrugged. โ€œSeemed insufficient.โ€ She stifled a sigh at their sweetnessโ€“sheโ€™d get used to it.

Molly arched a brow. โ€œIโ€™m meeting his parents, not getting engaged.โ€

Hillary marveled that the Shays would let Roy marry into the Hills.

Molly clarified, โ€œHeโ€™s not.โ€

Hillary sighed and nodded.

Roy said, โ€œMomo, I want kiwi.โ€

She speared a piece and fed him.

Hillary stayed silent a moment, then watched Molly wipe a drop of juice from Royโ€™s lips, then kiss him.

That was too much. Ustrana was a liberal place, but watching her daughter make out? Hillary left, servants trailing.

Roy pinned Molly to the couch. โ€œMomo, I want you.โ€

She cupped his face. โ€œLater.โ€ She licked her lips. โ€œLuckyโ€™s upstairs. Letโ€™s go to the garden.โ€
