Chapter 577

Molly was quick to act, swiftly setting up a large, high-tech laboratory for Shermaine. She sent over the address and then casually asked, โ€œWhat do you need the lab for?โ€

Shermaine smiled and replied, โ€œYouโ€™ll find out in a couple of days.โ€

Molly didnโ€™t press the matter, as sheโ€™d know soon enough.

Remembering that Bruce and Shermaine had some history, Molly asked, โ€œDo you remember Bruce?โ€

Shermaine paused for a moment, then nodded. โ€œI remember him.โ€

Mollyโ€™s face grew serious. โ€œHeโ€™s gone missing.โ€ She lit a cigarette, the flame flickering briefly. โ€œIt looks like after you left, Bruce went back to Ustrana and kept tracking the Immortality Project.

โ€œHe was determined to take them down, but theyโ€™re slippery. He got a lead a little while ago, went after themโ€ฆ and then he vanished.โ€

Shermaine changed into her clothes, taking her time before walking out the door. โ€œIf the news spreads too quickly, itโ€™s probably a trap.โ€

Molly blinked, confused. โ€œWhat do you mean?โ€ She was capable when it came to fighting, but she wasnโ€™t quite as skilled in reading between the lines and playing games of deception.

Shermaine shrugged. โ€œRoyโ€™s disappearance is connected to those people from the Immortality Project.โ€

After a moment of thought, Shermaine decided to share a bit more with Molly. If she didnโ€™t, Molly might never figure out that Roy was the wolf sheโ€™d been keeping by her side, especially with Roy hiding it so well.

Mollyโ€™s eyes widened in surprise. โ€œYou found something out?โ€

Shermaine nodded. โ€œYeah.โ€

โ€œYou mentioned that Bruce had been tracking that group for years. But if you couldnโ€™t find Royโ€™s whereabouts for two yearsโ€ฆ shouldnโ€™t it be suspicious if his news suddenly leaks out like this?โ€

Mollyโ€™s words made sense.

Shermaine added, โ€œHonestly, if it wasnโ€™t for Roy hiding you two years ago, they wouldโ€™ve found you instead. Youโ€™d have been the one taken. And you wouldnโ€™t have had a chance to wait for Bruce to come and save you.โ€

As they reached the parking lot, she pulled out her car keys. โ€œSo, in a way, this just confirms what happened back then. It wasnโ€™t just your third sister behind it all. It was a group effort.โ€

Molly hadnโ€™t considered that angle before. She always thought her siblings were too scattered, each focused on their own things. She never imagined theyโ€™d work together like that.

Shermaine continued, โ€œRight now, your weak spot, aside from your mom, is Bruce. Your mom is always at the estate, never out in the world, so sheโ€™s tough to get to. But Bruceโ€ฆ heโ€™s another story.

โ€œNo matter how strong he is, he canโ€™t fight everyone. If something happens to him, you wonโ€™t just stand by and do nothing.โ€

Molly bit her lip, then let out a soft, bitter laugh. โ€œSo itโ€™s my fault that Roy ended up like this.โ€

If not for Roy, it would have been her who disappeared two years ago.

Shermaine comforted her gently, โ€œRoy loves you. Heโ€™s willing to do anything for you. You donโ€™t owe him anything.โ€

It was a kind sentiment, but Molly still couldnโ€™t shake the feeling of guilt. Roy had sacrificed everything for her, even his life.

As Shermaine drove away, they ended their call.

Roy had spent the whole morning out, but he came back just in time. He walked in to find Molly standing on the balcony, her demeanor clearly off.

He hadnโ€™t expected a short trip would leave her like this.

Roy padded up to her, his tail sweeping behind him like it was the softest part of him.

Molly felt the familiar tingle in her legs as she saw him come back, and she put out her cigarette, kneeling down.

Roy nuzzled her gently, as if trying to offer comfort.

Molly sighed softly, โ€œI miss you again, Roy.โ€

Royโ€™s tail flicked, a jolt of surprise rushing through him. He knew she wasnโ€™t speaking to the wolf.

A wave of longing hit Roy, both sweet and painful.

He didnโ€™t know how to respond. The comfort she wanted wasnโ€™t something he could offer right now.

And just like that, Roy found himself feeling more frustrated than ever.

Two days later, Shermaine reached out to Molly, asking her to come over. She mentioned she needed Molly to accompany her to a place.

Molly agreed but was a bit surprised when Shermaine told her not to bring the wolf along.

She thought it might be because the wolf had some bad history with Shermaine. After all, the wolf was only ever nice to her. Heโ€™d been pretty vicious with everyone else.

So, that morning, she left without Roy.

Roy, being his clingy self, wasnโ€™t too thrilled. He howled and whined for what felt like hours.

Molly didnโ€™t cave in, figuring sheโ€™d make it up to him when she came back.

When she met Shermaine at the lab, she was led to a sleek, high-tech aircraft sheโ€™d never seen before. It was an unmanned plane.

Molly didnโ€™t ask too many questions about traveling to another world, but it was clear that this place had technology far beyond Earthโ€™s.

Before long, they arrived in Spaunia, a war-torn country.

The place was battered and broken, like it had just finished a brutal war. The air was thick with the metallic stench of blood.

โ€œWhat are we doing here?โ€ Molly asked, looking around.

After Shermaine gave her a short explanation, Molly frowned. โ€œAre they insane?โ€

Shermaine shrugged. โ€œSome people will do anything to get stronger. They have no boundaries.โ€

Greed ran so deep in some that they couldnโ€™t even understand when to stop.

As they walked through the streets, the crowds thinned. Ahead, the area was more desolate, a dangerous zone controlled by armed militants.

Molly and Shermaine were both stunningly beautiful, and in a place like this, their presence didnโ€™t go unnoticed.

A group of men quickly stopped them, but Shermaine wasnโ€™t in the mood for small talk. She shoved her gun into one manโ€™s face. โ€œWhereโ€™s Loff?โ€ she demanded.

Loff Arden was their leader.

As if on cue, one of the men tried to sneak up from behind. But Molly was quicker. She spun around, kicked him with precision, and sent him flying. Without missing a beat, she pulled out a knife, throwing it at his foot. โ€œStay put,โ€ she snapped.

These werenโ€™t just ordinary women. They were dangerous.

The man, now their captive, led them up the building. The higher they went, the louder the screams got.

It was clear that Loff was using people for experiments, but his efforts werenโ€™t going well. One of his victims lay unconscious on the floor, evidence of a failed test.

The whole situation was sickening. These people were using innocent lives as lab rats.

When Loff saw Shermaine and Molly enter with one of his men in tow, he didnโ€™t seem fazed. But then, as he saw two women as beautiful as them, his expression turned less than respectful.

โ€œTwo gorgeous ladies, what can I do for you?โ€ Loff asked, clearly enjoying the attention.

Shermaine tossed the man aside, no longer needing him, and smirked. โ€œChange. Let her see your real form.โ€

Molly couldnโ€™t help but laugh. โ€œIf youโ€™re ugly, Iโ€™m not even looking.โ€

Loff froze for a second, clearly stung by her words.
